I knew you wud try this. By the way those 100 points were for me to give yYOU. You get 30/100 for the effort.

Now lets look at the whole scenario. Your initial points (refer to my previous post) were:

1) Publicly expressing love for an Imam = riya

2) It should be personal

The first one I threw back on your face by giving an example of a fallible. Flabbergasted by HR's first strike, you tried to spin it by saying we are not Hazrat Maytham.

It seems you were trying to say that if you really are very pious, you can openly declare your love for the Imam? Correct?Do you know each and every poster on this thread individually to decide where they stand in piety? Even if you knew them I doubt you have the authority to judge anyone like that. It's between them and Allah.

Lighter please

Flabbergasted  you wish. Where do you get these terms from? Lizzie McGuire?

It may not seem like it, but my first post was more of a question than a statement. It's very subjective - what one person is impressed by might not impress someone else and vice versa. Having said this - genuine strong feelings for the Imams, Prophet (pbuh.) and God is such an impressive thing, maybe I'm just easily impressed, but it sure is a very valued part of our faith. And for people to flaunt it to other people  I don't know. It obviously depends on the situation as well. If someone for example is a sheikh - then he is expected to do that ... but an average Moe like you and me is not. Or sometimes the situation warrants it, sometimes it doesn't. Even for people who are not sheikhs or ulama. So when we do express love for the ahlulbayt, assuming that our love for them is not so overwhelmingly strong that we can't keep it in, we have to think about why we are doing it. What are we trying to get out of it? And on this thread, regardless of how pious the posters are, it is entirely uncalled for. And I wasn't saying it is only ok if you're really pious, I was just saying that some people are so far up there they don't even consider it riya - which is impressive in itself. Get it? :)

1000 points for me :D

and still a lousy 50 for you

Owaise Karney never met the Prophet (pbuh) yet he declared his love for him in many ways and openly. Salman was a slave before coming into Islam and once embracing Islam he reached such a high status. Was that status achievable without the declaration of the Wilayat of the Imams (as)?

Habib Ibne Mazahar was a one who would kiss the ground Imam Husayn (as) walked on.. Is that not declaration of love for the Imam (as)? and that openly?

Btw when you sign a petition for something dont you sign it due to your support for the cause? So by people signing here they show they love the Ahl ul Bayt (as) and who are we to judge if it is riya or not only Allah knows what lies in the hearts of the people not me and you. Some might mean it, some might get inspire by seeing the support of others who knows. . .

geewizz lemme partake in this minor riya lest i give into KIBR thinking i am anybetter....something that i detected in the previous post .

i love you Imam

stating that dosent really mean anything since i dont know you neither do i know what it takes to love you for i have no idea what you put yourself for the sake of people like us with empty words which belittle your true lovers who sacrificed this worlds fame and fortune in waiting upon you.

i hope you take it easy on liars and oh so holy wannabees like me.

i wish for him to appear soon, so i can be in his group.

H Hujjat AF says in a tauqee to Shaykh Mufeed AR "then each of u should ACT in a way that brings you closer to our LOVE and REFRAIN from those actions which bring you closer to our dislike and anger..."

{REF Al-Ehtejaaj SK Tabarsi Vol 2,p 599}

In my opinion actions are far greater than mere signing on some chat board..I really think that he is looking for action oriented muhhibs not mere vocalists

Salaams,

Signing the petition of our love for our beloved Imam AS is just not enough..just a few posts ahead there has been mention of the 313 soldiers of H Hujjat ATFS..its just like the 72 martyrs (may Allah sanctify their positions) who were handpicked by Aba Abdillah Al Husayn AS..the ones who showed preseverance in the time of test, who showed utmost loyalty to their master, and were ever so obedient to his wishes and desires (That included H Abbas AS not going out to fight as per the IMAMS WISHES even though HE WAS THE COMMANDER of the army..

let us discipline ourselves in this manner..the manner of the Pure Ahlulbayt AS

With all due respect, but why is there such a big fuss about this?

It is really ok to have this thread. It is a no brainer that we must also work extremely hard to be with and love our Imam. Let's just take this section as a reminder for us that we need to have the Imam on our minds always, and to awaken us from our deep slumber that occasionally takes us away from what we really should be working towards.

Thankyou to the thread starter because this humble allegiance reminded me of the greater responsibility in declaring my love for my Imam.

Allahuma Kun Liwaliyika Alhujjat ibn Al-Hassan salawatuka 3alyhi wa3ala 2aaba2ih, fi hathihi sa3a, wa fi kulli sa3a, walliyan wahafithan waqa2idan wanaasiran wa dalilan wa3ayna, hatta tuskinahu arthaka taw3an watumate3ahu fiha tawilan

Imam Ali b Abi Talib (as) said :

"In the Last Days and the days of calamity and ignorance of the people,God will appoint a

person and will support him and protect his fallower through angels. He will help him

through miraculous signs and will gve him victory over all the people of the world, so that

whether they like it or not they will convert to the true religion. He will fill the earth with

the justice and equity, and brilliance and rationality. The distances between places will

shrink for him in a such a way that no unbeliever will remain except that {the appointed

one} will bring {to him} faith and no sinful person will remain except that he will become

pious"

We all loved to Imam Al Mahdi (as) and Imam Al Mahdi (as) also loved to all of us for

sure. But make sure We keep fallow him to become a True Fallower.

Before posting, I recommend that we all learn about riya' to make sure we aren't guilty of it.

Riya' means to falsely make oneself appear to be virtuous, good natured or a true believer in God before the people for the sake of earning their respect and admiration, or with the purpose of gaining good reputation among them. The hypocrite feigns integrity, uprightness, virtue, honesty And piety without an authentic intention of acquiring these traits for the sake of God.

http://www.al-islam.org/fortyhadith/2.htm

That being said...

Zurarah reports that he questioned al-Imam al-Baqir (A) about the status of a person who performed good deeds, which were seen by others and it made him happy. Said the Imam (A): "There is no harm in it; there is no one who does not like that his good deeds be made known to the people, in case he does not perform them [solely] for the sake of attracting their admiration.

Ibid., vol. 2, p. 297.

Loving and supporting the Imam (atf) is every Shia's duty.

How can a normal human being possibly insult people for publicly expressing recognition, acceptance, and devotion to that duty?

How can someone possibly take it upon themself to JUDGE the intentions of another and form the most pessimistic judgment possible about such a beautiful act?

Just as some say devotion to the Imam (atf) should stay between you and him, should the judgment of a believer's intentions not also stay between him and Allah (SWT)?

I hope people will continue signing once personally secure about their own intentions. I am confident nobody in their right mind would arrive at the conclusion that they would be thought particularly or especially faithful merely for typing their two cents of support on a thread, because the moment you declare yourself a Shi'a it is understood that this love and devotion is present in your heart. It's the thought that counts, the thought that we must be oft reminded of, and that 'thought' is what is trying to be relayed here.

It is no greater flaunting of faith to sign at this thread than it is to sign up with ShiaChat and discuss religious matters in public period.

It is no greater a declaration of responsibility than the act of wearing formal attire to proclaim that you're a serious bussinessman.

If Allah (SWT) didn't want the believers to actively voice their belief, why would He have given us Imams (as) who gave light to universal messages that would be commemorated for centuries to come?

Why would Lady Fatima Zahra (as) spend so much time delivering khutbas to the masses, or Imam Ali (as) deliver so many of his respective sermons, if the voices of the servants of Allah (SWT) proclaiming their beliefs weren't meant to be heard?

Come on, now. In Karbala, every celebrated martyr left us with revolutionary words of wisdom proclaiming their undying faith to the ultimate cause.

Are we forgetting the ashaab (companions) of Imam Hussain (as), who PROUDLY proclaimed that they would give their lives for the Imam (as) a hundred times over simply for their love of him? Are we forgetting the fact that Lady Zainab (as) THANKED those men sincerely and did not (naodhubillah) CHASTISE them for publicly declaring their pride in the cause?

Is it not true that the ULTIMATE declaration of faith, the shahada, is only valid if recited in front of witnesses?

Is it not true that the thawaab of prayers gets multiplied MANIFOLD if you read it in a congregation?

Is it not true that we loudly declare salawaat and LOUDLY send blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his family when we listen to praises and sermons regarding them?

...Or are the ones opposed to signing here those that object to the proclamation of salawaat?

Sorry for getting so preachy, and I apologize ahead of time for any offensiveness or error in what I've said. Apologies if I sound dramatic, but the doubts and criticisms outraged me and if you doubt my faith in what I said, at least don't doubt my displeasure with some of the comments. I sincerely hope it isn't thought of me that I spent my time writing all this so I could sound religious or well-informed or faithful or superior; cuz I'll tell you straight up, I haven't reached any of those stages and I'm far from being privileged enough to consider myself any of it. Fact is, I'm just another sinner possibly gifted with a microscopic touch of sense, and I'm at this site trying to broaden the success of my spiritual journey by way of religious enlightenment so someday I could understand what it truly means to be a follower of Al-Mahdi (atf).

Some beloved parts of Dua-e-Tawassul::

O inheritor of al-Hasan, O successor, O upright one, O Proof, O awaited upriser, O Mahdi, O descendant of the Messenger of Allah, O decisive argument of Allah over mankind, We turn towards thee, seek thy intercession and advocacy before Allah, we put before you our open need, O intimate of Allah, Stand by us when Allah sits in judgement over us.

O our chief , O our master, O my chiefs, O my Masters, I turn to Allah through you, O my Imams, my supporters on the days of my destitution. I seek your advocacy before Allah, I request you to speak in my favour before Allah, obtain pardon for me from Allah, and deliver me from my sins, through my love of you and nearness to you, obtain deliverance (for me) from Allah O my chiefs, O close friends of Allah, may Allah bless all of them, and curse the enemies of Allah who have oppressed them and will oppress them so be it, O Lord of the worlds.

Are e allowed to sign twice -- I'd like to sign this every day with so much love.

Ah as much as you want bro.

YA MAHDI

WOW ... mashallah - you guys must be so pious.

So much so in fact that something as strong and personal as feelings is so far behind you that you don't consider it riya to express it for spiritual/religious figures to your peers.

Wow, lighten up. We're in good moods here just stopping by and saying that we love Imam Mahdi (as). No one would stop me or any other Muslim from being able to say that, so your words are like air to everyone else here.

Sorry :(
