Incredible footage. The Iranian nation's annual mobilisation is truly astonishing to outside observers like myself and the rallies are truly unprecedented anywhere in the world. I am certain there are very few historical examples of such iron-clad unity. These colossal mobilisations of the great Iranian people demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt the absolute solidarity of Iranians vis-a vis the nuclear program and their massive and continued support for the Glorious Revolution. These annual demostrations of earthquake proportions are indeed sufficient to destroy the superstructures of propaganda constructed by western media centers and exiled Iranian elements.

May God bless Iran and grant it eternal victory. Ya Hussain!

Resolution of Bahman 22 Rallies

February 11 2006

Tehran, Feb 11, irna -- At the end of the Bahman 22 rally held here Saturday to mark the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, the participants issued a 9-article resolution declaring their stances. The following is the full text of the resolution:

"In the Name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful, The righteous shall inherit the earth" (Holy Quran: Sura Anbiya, Verse 105)

The 28th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution is marked in an atmosphere filled with the memory and name of the "Lord of Martyrs" (Imam Hussein - AS) and his faithful companions; The occasion is a manifestation of the historic precedence of the prosperous logic of Ashura Uprising in the Islamic movement of the Iranian nation; The coincidence of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (as) with the historic days of the Ten-Day Dawn' (February 1-11) celebrations more than even before rev ives the Ashura-based roots and foundations of the Islamic Revolution in the public opinion. It also reminds us of the historic message of the founder of the Islamic Republic and father of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini who said, "Had it n ot been for the uprising of the Lord of Martyrs, the Islamic Revolution would not have triumphed." The anniversary of the victory of the liberating Islamic Revolution is marked under conditions that lineup of the enemies of Islam and Iran and also of the world bullying powers against the resistant Iranian nation has reached a sensitive level; The wrath and hostility of imperialism and international Zionism against the beloved Islam has reached its climax.

At the end of its massive nationwide rallies held under these sensitive conditions, the monotheist, united and great nation of Iran announces its firm stances with the shouts of "Allaho Akbar" (God is the greatest) and declares:

1. The Islamic Revolution is a glimmering beam of the ever shining sun of Ashura, the movement of Imam Hussein (as) and a fateful move, which became victorious by relying on the leadership and wise guidelines of the late Imam Khomeini and thanks to the u nity and general will of the nation from different walks of life; With the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, it quenched the thirst of the Muslim and oppressed nations through the genuine truth that Islam is a perfect religion which can addr ess all the needs of human community in all junctions of the history, guaranteeing prosperity of nations both in this world and hereafter. This divine light, which brought about the global movement of Islamic awakening in its reviving manifestation, will continue to proceed honorably and powerfully by relying on the genuine thoughts and ideology of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and on the loyalty of the nation to the aspirations and ideals of the revolution and martyrs and under the nation 's full adherence and devotion to and obedience of the wise guidelines of the Vali-e Faqih of the time, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei (May God grant him longevity); It will also offer a practical model of the I slamic community to the world people by building a developed, free, independent and progressive Iran.

2. The brave nation of Iran, by relying on the Almighty, and by its love for Imam Hussein's school of thought and objectives, has chosen its path and will not surrender to the selective and political approaches as well as false claims of countries, which by possessing the highest number of nuclear warheads, have openly jeopardized the world peace and security.

Hence, while voicing our explicit opposition to their illegitimate demands and monopolist decisions, we are resolute not to give up, even slightly, our inalienable and undisputed right of producing and using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; While fu lly backing the the will of the esteemed government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to defend the national rights of Iranians, the Iranian nation strongly rejects any kind of blackmailing by any country or organization aimed at depriving it from its legi timate right.

3. The Muslim and zealous nation of Islamic Iran does not consider desecration of Islamic sanctities and insult to the Holy Prophet of Islam (Peace Be Upon Him) as an accident or something originating from superficial attitudes or press illusion; We rath er take this as a sign of hostility and hardheartedness towards Islam and the majesty and vigilance of Muslims; Hence, while voicing hatred and resentment towards and condemning this impudent insult, we believe boycotting the products of Denmark and of t he countries supporting such a nasty move would be the least response to the insult against the brilliant culture of Islam and the beliefs of Muslims worldwide; We call on all Muslim governments in general, and the esteemed government of the Islamic Repu blic in particular, to deal with the issue effectively, cut diplomatic ties (with Denmark) and expel its ambassador.

4. The serious attention of the president, who has been elected by the nation, to promote justice and eradicate poverty as the pivotal slogan of the revolution has given the nation the hope for materialization of the ideals of the Imam and martyrs, promi sing a bright prospect for the future of the country in light of speedy settlement of the present problems and implementation of the national documents of the 20-year vision plan. The grateful nation of Iran, appreciating the special efforts of the belov ed president and respected government for promotion of justice, serving the people, campaign against poverty and discrimination, creating employment, campaign against economic corruption and promotion of culture of simple life and democracy, voices its s upport for the efforts of the three branches of government to solve the problems and address the true needs of the people.

Considering the present conditions when the united camp of blasphemy is standing against Islam, Muslims and the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian nation invites all groups, factions and currents to adhere to the unity existing in the strong ranks of the na tion and to massively and strongly defend the national interests and objectives.

5. The year 1384 (March 21, 2005- March 20, 2006), designated by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution as the year of national solidarity and public participation, has turned into a glorious stage for solidarity and unity among Iranians thanks to the massive and praiseworthy turnout of the people in two rounds of presidential elections. And now, on the 28th anniversary of the culmination of the Islamic Revolution and while all parts of the beloved Iran is filled with the scent of wise presence of the nation in the scene, we announce to the world people: The national unity of Iranians, which has been the key to the victory of the Revolution and progress of Iran, and the main factor behind success against all sorts of plots, hatched by the "global fro nt of sedition and mischief" - with the help of God and in light of general consciousness and insight as well as the wise presence of the nation in all the scenes of defense of the revolution and Iran - will continue honorably and till the last drop of i ts blood.

6. The victory of the brave Hamas resistance forces in the Palestinian parliamentary elections is the latest manifestation of the global movement of Islamic awakening and a sign of the general demand of Muslim nations for materialization of Islam in all state affairs.

The explicit opposition of the false advocates of democracy and human rights to the victory of Hamas and the vote of the Palestinian people shows that wishes of nations and rights of people have no position in the culture and ideology of the hegemonic po wers and they are only tools in the hands of the West to beef up pressure on the independence-seeking nations, such as the Iranian nation. While condemning the West's double standards and its abuse of such concepts as democracy and human rights, we reite rate our support for the brave Palestinian nation; and by condemning the US statesmen's support for the disgraceful crimes of the Qods occupiers, we warn that supporters of Zionism should sooner or later respond to their unwise measures before the world public opinion as accomplices in the crimes of this "origin of corruption" in the region, as should the terrorists ruling in Tel Aviv.

7. The occupiers of Iraq, who after the vigilant turnout of the Iraqi people in the parliamentary elections have no other pretext - even in appearance - for continuing their occupation of Iraq, are busy doing mischief, sowing discord and causing insecuri ty in the region.

While inviting the Muslim and brotherly nation of Iraq to continue its obedience to Marjaiat (religious authority) and maintain their vigilant presence in the scene, we strongly condemn continuation of occupation of Iraq by the American and British force s and emphatically call for their immediate and unconditional withdrawal from Iraq.

8. The main philosophy behind Ashura and the movement of the Lord of Martyrs is "enjoining to good and prohibiting from the vice"; and the Great Iranian nation, that is considering the divine duty of enjoining to good and prohibiting from the vice as a s ort of general and logical monitoring mechanism, and a guarantor for national prosperity as well as the main condition for spiritual survival of the revolution, calls for practical attention to this great religious duty, as the general demand of Iranian people.

9. The Muslim and grateful nation of Iran considers the strength and majesty of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran indebted to Jihad and self-sacrifice of the selfless war veterans, especially the noble martyrs of the Islamic Revolution; a nd on this auspicious day, which coincides with the third day of the martyrdom anniversary of the Lord of the World Freedom Lovers, Hussein Ibn Ali (as) and the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Zeinulabedin (as), the fourth Imam of the infallible househol d of the Prophet (pbuh), we renew our allegiance to the exalted spirit of the late Imam and all the dear martyrs, and while obeying and building ever solid bonds with the wise Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, we will whole-heartedly follow their ble ssed path."

These mobilisations which signify Iranians' unity among themselves and loyalty to the leadership have not recieved any coverage in the Western media. Then again such events serve to destroy the foundations of western propaganda against Iran so it is not surprising at all.

(salam)

Alhamdolillah I have been in Iran (Qum) for the past 2 years and have been able to attend these celebrations. (jaaye hametun khaali)

I remember last year the weather was terrible... freezing... there was water in the streets.. but we just keep on going... with frozen feet. Absolutely amazing turnout (which we were a bit shocked by)

This year, Alhamdolillah... the weather was relatively nice (although it got a bit hot and sunny) and the outcome was even more amazing. What I found to be really interesting is that there were all sorts of ppl.. not just, as ppl say, hardcore mullahs and uptight chadoris (with faces covered and all). There were ppl of all ages and beliefs and whatever.. expressing their love and desire to have their rights not sntached from beneath them.

Oh and I dont recall me or anyone else being forced.. or "rewarded" by attending either. If ppl attend these demonstratiosn and celebrations and what not.. its bc they choose to.. you cant take their pride out of them.....these are ppl who are raised with the love of ahlul bayt (as) and are "children of azaadariye hussayn" whichis something that can't be taken from them, Insha Allah

Another thing this year the 22nd of Bahman fell on the 3rd day after Aushura... so there was the typical slogans u usually hear along with the azadari of Imam Hussayn (as) ......THAT was amazing!!

anyways, yea so...it brings one hope when we see turn outs like this....

May Allah (swt) protect us all.. and keep us in the line of Ahlul Bayt (as)

Wassalaam

You live in the West. Have more respect.

Beautiful pictures! Here's to the Islamic Republic!

You live in the West.

The Islamic republic should to reform to answer the discontent fealt against it. otherwise, it will not be in place much longer.

If the Islamic Republic does not learn from History, then it is doomed to failure. It has obviously not shown any progression of its beliefs and tolerances.

I thought there was freedom of speech in the West...?

No, you don't understand. The West is a magical place. It has FREEDOMZ, which no other country in the world has. So, for example, if you want to open a business in say, Indonesia, you won't be allowed to, because it doesn't have FREEDOMZ, which only the West has. Also, since the West has FREEDOMZ, it is better than the rest of the world, no matter what it does. So it can kill children in drone strikes, invade countries in wars of aggression, topple democratically elected leaders in other countries, etc, and its all OK, because the West has FREEDOMZ. Now, even though IRI has gone through the Islamic Revolution, with the support of 99% of its population, it does not have FREEDOMZ, which only the West is allowed to have, so its not OK. Now if the people of Iran listen to the US and its puppets and install a puppet regime which runs the country to the ground, all will be well because it will then have FREEDOMZ, since its a puppet of the West and got it from its masters (which is the only place which has FREEDOMZ, if you remember). So there you go. The Iranian people don't have FREEDOMZ. So 22 Bahman was bad.

After our the death of our great imam Khomeini (ra) Iran is not the same, sometimes I question if it's still Islamic republic of Iran, or have they sold it.

so long as Imam Khamenei is at the helm, Iran will not sell out.... Individuals will sell out, and they will try to sell Iran, such as the current Iranian administration, but as a whole Iran will not sell out. Even the Rafsanjani/Khatami/Rohani cabal will only be able to go so far before they are yanked back in... Their strategy is proving to be a complete failure every day, as the US/Euros keep increasing their threats towards Iran, while this cabal continues to offer more olive branches - soon, enough they'll either be exposed as sell outs, or they themselves will realize that they can only take so many direct slaps on their face, while their adversaries is laughing all the way to the bank.

It's very amazing to see the difference of opinion between actual Iranians vs non Iranian muslims especially Pakistanis that celebrate a brutal revilution. Non Iranian muslims aren't privy to the atrocities commited by those who wore the cloak of religion. Great people like Grand Ayatollah Shariatmadari were tortured along with his relatives from director orders of the highest levels of the revolutionary government. Look at examples like Ayatollah Montazeri who were oppressed because they spoke out against executions. If you're going to criticize sunnis for being blind to the obvious...then use the same logic when looking at the atrocities committed by the leaders of the Iranian revolution. Ask yourself...what would Imam Ali do. There are very few shias on this planet.
