what should my Islamic name be?

Salam alaycom,

I reverted about 18 years ago, and I haven't changed my name legally. Most people here know me by my islamic name - however recently I got a new job and everyone here knows me by my legal name. My parents/family back home still call me by the name I was born with. If you do change it, make it something easy to pronounce and something you like. There are Arabic names like May, Sara, Mariam etc that fit all societies. I picked a name rather close to my old name, and I have to agree that Shireen is close to Sharon and nice.

Peace,

Um Ali
