...do we see what goes on afterwards? as in can i see who turns up to my funeral?

i always wondered who'd turn up and who wouldnt be bothered!

and say someone didnt care that we died but turned up and cried like mad, could we know that they were being fake? or does Allah (swt) only know what is in a persons heart?

and do we hang around and always look in on our loved ones? or do we not know what they are doing and thinking?

thanks

There's an EXCELLENT book I'm reading right now by Ayatullah Dastghaib Shiraazi called "The Hereafter (Ma'aad)" which would answer many of your questions.

http://www.al-khoei.org/catalog/product_in...roducts_id=1400

$7.00 is a great price, by the way; I bought mine at a good store and paid $11.00. For a 192 pg. book absolutely loaded with good information, it's a steal at $7.00.

"In this book, the great writer describes in an attractive and appealing style the journey to the Hereafter. He explaines the kind of death for the righteous and the offender. Condition of BARZAKH, tortureous punishment in the grave, comforts of Paradize, and the events thereafter are explained in a manner that the reader feels that he himself is passing throgh all the stages. The happenings at Siraat, ( The bridge) the Balance ( Mizan ) Paradize, the Hell, the rewards and punishment, all have been explained based on the verses of the Holy Quran and the tradition of the Holy Prophet SAWA."

(salam)

There is a book at http://www.rafed.net in English section call Manzile Akhirat which reveals some detail on this.

I think ppl say that you have 3 days to say good bye before the angel take you away to the permanent place in your grave call Barzah. In those 3 days, you maybe able to see your family for the last time

Then you will never see them until Qiyamah(teh final day). But if you were good in this dunya, you will get some chance for visitation otherwise, they is no chance for you to see your family. Allah knows the best

who cares!!!

I do not bother what will happen to my loved ones friends and relatives after my death in this world.

I am sure when my contact with my body is severed (death) this world will disappear for me, this world exist as long as I am bound with six senses through this earthly body.

I cannot see hear feel smell or taste after my death, the illusion will no longer exist.

Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) says in the Qur'an:

“And not is the life of the world except a play and amusement but the home of the hereafter is the best for those who are God conscious, then not will you reason”.  – Surah Al An’am [6:32].

This world is a prison for a momin. Imam Ali(asws).

This world is nothing but a dream of a sleeper. (Rumi).

People are asleep, when they die, they wake up. Imam Ali(asws).

They will cry, “Woe to us! Who has raised us up from our place of rest? This must be what the Most Compassionate warned us of; the messengers told the truth!”36:52

Crying: Woe upon us! Who hath raised us from our place of sleep? This is that which the Beneficent did promise, and the messengers spoke truth,36:52

They will say: Ah! woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose? (A voice will say:) "This is what (Allah) Most Gracious had promised and true was the word of the apostles!"36:52

This might be a hint that we would be completely oblivious and unaware to what's happening until party time. Somewhat similar to sleeping.

I've always wondered why Lazarus and others who were resurrected by Prophets s. of old had not spoken about this, or had yet nothing recorded.
