If that's true, why is he so lovey dovey with one of the cruelest tyrants of all time:

Oh, and the fact that he loved the Soviet Union which ruined Islam in Central Asia and invaded Afghanistan while showing himself to be Anti-Imperialist: "Yes, I did support the Soviet Union, and I think the disappearance of the Soviet Union is the biggest catastrophe of my life. If there was a Soviet Union today, we would not be having this conversation about plunging into a new war in the Middle East, and the US would not be rampaging around the globe."

The first clip you showed is very short and ambiguous. If you had seen the meeting of George Galloway and Saddam live on TV, you would have known Galloway was in Iraq as a peacemaker, trying to get sanctions lifted and food to the poor people. About the other one, it seems it is a very short and ambiguous clip, but looks like a non-Islamic performance or one of those hypnotist comedy things. So now let's never listen to him again because he has a checkered past? It is what you are saying and doing in the present time that is important to Allah SWT, not what you did when you were young and ignorant. ws

Why is he sucking up to Uday (according to some far worse than his father)?

Would you praise a muslim leader being friendly with Israel because "they want to bring peace to Palestine"? Be honest sister.

Why does the video clip say Test on the screen?

First of all, the video is from The Sun, which is a horrific tabloid in the UK and not a reputable organization. If The Sun could not get poor people to buy their rag, and the organization has spawned into a tv show of which this clip was a part of, how even more disgusting.

That said, the video clip is breaking up, but you can hear the narrator saying that he was on a trip in Iraq and other Arab countries for charity. Uday was in charge of the Iraqi Olympics Committee as well as a Member of Parliament.

If he met Galloway in the welcoming ceremony earlier in the day, then it would be appropriate for Galloway to say hello AGAIN when they met privately for the charity appeal.

When Galloway said "Your Excellency" he was not looking in the direction of Uday, but someone else, probably a diplomat that he recognized. I don't believe he was calling Uday His Excellency.

Saddam, Uday and his brother are not the issue of this topic. The OP was speaking about George Galloway's trip to Canada, to bring attention to the plight of oppressed peoples around the world.

Would you praise a muslim leader being friendly with Israel because "they want to bring peace to Palestine"? Be honest sister.

Your question about Israel is off topic, but which Muslim leader are you talking about? Are you referring to Hosni Mubarak? Sorry, I don't want to talk about him or the King of Jordan.

Are you going to keep posting video clips of George Galloway and asking me about them? I really did not want to keep discussing with you on all these issues that I don't agree with. I was agreeing with the OP for sharing his video. ws

I was talking about a hypothetical situation.

Either way I certainly don't see him as a "helper for the oppressed of the world", if he was he would not be such a fan of former Soviet Union. BTW I hope his fans support "oppressed" homosexuals as well:

Vote on government plan to allow unmarried and gay couples to adopt children. Supporters voted for. The motion was passed. For

He even tells you how to follow your religion, mashAllah:

Personally I don't care much for him or his views, I just don't like the way muslims have turned him into some sort of role model.

"4:139 As for those who take the deniers of the truth for their allies in preference to the believers - do they hope to be honoured by them when, behold, all honour belongs to God [alone]?".

Nobody has George Galloway as a role model! Astaghfirullah! Some people admire that he stands up for oppressed people.

When he is a guest speaker, people come and people listen. This is the George Galloway that I am talking about:

George Galloway vs. U.S Senate (5/17/05)

He has done and still doing more for the oppressed Palestinian people than all of SC e-political scientists of your sort put together and multiplied. And here you are having a go at him.

Yes, he supported Soviet Union ideologically because he is a Socialist. He supported it as a counter power to American neo-imperialism free market capitalism. He's never been a propagandist of the Soviet regime or a Stalinist etc.

I like George Galloway, and I also like Jimmy Carter.

This goes to show you that good people exist everywhere.

But I'm not sure what the intention behind Uday's handshake was. But I'm a nice guy and am willing to forgive and forget.

I am only posting in this thread because today when I walked in to my masjid for the program I saw a flyer with the face of this snake being promoted at my center for some event, and I wanted others to know the reality of this man.

This man is just a politician and he is using muslims, to make a name for him self, and make tons of money in the process. Please stop supporting this man. He is taking all of you for a ride, do you really think this man cares about these interests?

If the videos of him with saddam and his sons arnt enough to prove that he is a devil (look what he said at the end to uday, i want to let you know that we are with you to the end), go and ask people who have had to work with the man. Hes using this whole palestinain/arab/muslim issue to get a free ride and become wealthy. A very good personal freind of mine who is very active in the Palestine issue, who even went on one of the Viva Palestina trips that George Galloway was with and went in to Gaza him self with the group to deliver Aide was telling me that Galloway is nothing but a politician who is using the cause/and the people involved. Here in california they wanted him to come for a fundraising event for Palestine Aid. He refused to come unless he was guaranteed 10% of all the money raised for him self, as well as first class flight, and first class accommodation among other things.

Don't end up being used by this man.

What really depresses me is that there are tons of people like that Libyan idiot who thinks they should share their oil wealth with NATO. What this idiot doesn't understand is that this type of mentality and thinking ends up putting the country back in the same exact position as it was before. What's the difference between pimping your country to Qaddafi or NATO? Same thing.

I heard an interview with Condaliza Rice yesterday having her look back at the invasion of Iraq and was it all worth it. She said "Yes" and had the unmitigated gall to say that that Iraqi regime was seeking weapons of mass destruction. I was dumbstruck that she was still spouting that same old garbage and the BBC interviewer let it pass..

The reason I mention this because some here are still playing the tired oil and the West card.

Why aren't you supporting her? Weren't you ranting and raving about how proud you were of NATO taking out Libyans?

^Nonsense..the guy has more balls than most Arab leaders and if we had Muslims like him, our nations might be in much less of a mess..

We already have people who pay lip service, and we already have people who revere Saddam. Hasn't made a difference at all.

He doesn't just pay lip service, he is a man of conviction who fights for what he believes in.

If he believes in getting votes, then yeah he fights for it.

Chances are that he is a Muslim

After getting through three different arab women one after the other I hope for their sake that he's Muslim.
