There seems to be much marriage talk on these forums and how difficult people are finding it to meet their ideal partner.

If any of you guys are aware of EFFECTIVE supplications for spouse searching! something tried and tested! pls share them on this thread!

p.s pls dont post duas.org - marriage link

There is an ayat in the Holy Quran, which is a quote from Moses in the days of his youth, when he turns a fugitive and flees Egypt. He sees two girls drawing water from a well and says something to the effect of...

"Allah, I stand in need of whatever good you send towards me"

I do not remember the exact ayat or the reference. Possibly this could be a useful prayer . Helped Moses marry one of those girls! :o

Here's a citation from a booklet (Benefits Of Quranic Ayat) I have from duas.org (sorry!). This part explains some of the benefits of Surat Taha:

Surah Taha

This surah was revealed in Makkah and has 135 verses. It is mentioned in a narration from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) that whoever recites this surah will get the reward equivalent to the number of companions of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) from the Muhajireen and Ansaar.

Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said that Allah (s.w.t.) befriends the ones who recite this surah and this person will receive his book of deeds on his right hand. His sins will be forgiven and he will get so much reward that he will be pleased on the Day of Judgement.

This surah should be recited before war, going before a tyrant ruler and trying to guide a community towards the path of Allah (s.w.t.). If a girl is not getting married and she wishes to get married., she should take ghusl (bath) with water in which this surah has been dissolved and by the will of Allah (s.w.t.) she will get married.

If a man wishes to get married, he should write verses 131 and 132 of this surah with saffron and then wear it as a talisman and InshaAllah his proposal will be accepted.

.

.

.

.

I'm afraid I don't have a direct reference for anything mentioned in these passages, although they quite possibily relate to the contents of books such as 'Mifateeh al-Jinaan'.

Thanks,

Wassalaam.

am just curious. is there a specific problem with the duas mentioned in the marriage link on duas.org, or is it simply because everyone already knows about it?

Ok sis , since you have asked for prayers that have been tried and tested, I'll recommend a 'manat' promise of good deed upon marriage. My mother in law did one for her eldest daughter to get married, which was to pick up a ring from the Imambargah which are placed there for these purposes of manat. Then upon her daughter getting married she vowed to donate the amount the ring would weigh in gold to the Mosque/Imambargah.

So then her daughter got married Alhamdulillah, and for a couple of years my MIL became really ill and was unable to complete the promise. Then she told me to have the ring weighed and ask how much the ring would cost if it were gold. I did this and she donated the money. She asked me to return the ring to the Imambargah, I did this and then picked the ring up myself praying for my younger sis In law to get married and I would also donate the money as my MIL had done. My sis in law was married before the next Muharram Alhamdullilah. Both marriages happened after lots of praying. Basically the maanat would be to donate money to Imambargah or good cause, better to do it in the name of a Masoom a.s

I hope this helps,

Your sister

131. Nor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them, the splendour of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring.

132. Enjoin prayer on thy people, and be constant therein. We ask thee not to provide sustenance: We provide it for thee. But the (fruit of) the Hereafter is for righteousness.

The greatness of Prophet Musa (عليه السلام) is reflected in these words, as he was not specific with Allah about what he needed !

Not particular to marriage but I seen miracles happen when a person prays Ziarat Ashura for 40 days in a row. That said you have to do your part too that is keeping looking for potential matches.Hopefully you will find someone soon.
