Was Prophet (saws) poisoned?

Salaam Aleikum,

Reading Qur'an I came to thinking about the poisoning narrations. 

Some believe that the two poisoned the Prophet (saws), but we have a Quranic verse where it says:

˹It will be better˺ if you ˹wives˺ both turn to Allah in repentance, for your hearts have certainly faltered. But if you ˹continue to˺ collaborate against him, then ˹know that˺ Allah Himself is his Guardian. And Gabriel, the righteous believers, and the angels are ˹all˺ his supporters as well.

This verse itself give protection from any of these two woman plots and actions against the Prophet (saws).

Second is that Prophet Muhammad (saws) is the greatest of the Prophets. And in Quran we read the parts where Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) save one of his greatest Prophet from humiliating and killing by the hands of enemy. Prophet Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa died an natural death and Prophet Isa (saws) war raised. 

The Khaybar poisoning by Jews is exactly like how the Jews tried to kill Isa (عليه السلام), but the whole story make no sense because poisoning can not last years. It would have been shown from battle of Khaybar time.

the khaybar poisoning has a lot of textual problems excepting food from non-Muslims not knowing it was poison other people, and some versions getting sick and dying the premise of she poisoned to prove he wouldn’t die etc 

The chapters 66 commentaries generally shed light on conversation was overheard that if he was very quickly poisoned and eliminated, those two could seize the throne for their fathers

The holy prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and said there’s none from we the whole household, but they die by poison or the sword

The idea that he died a natural death, but achieved maytrdom them because imam Hassan as was poisoned and imam Hussayn as killed on the battle field is a new idea and really in line with the text of the narrations

In the books of the other school, they mentioned a medicine he didn’t want that hit the ground and sizzled among other things

He was offered something he didn’t want three times he accepted it on the fourth time because it is recommended to accept a gift that’s offered four times and he himself only did obligatory and recommended act not general disliked or prohibited

So on the fourth offering, he accepted the gift of Mardo from those two and achieved the greatest status

He lived the highest rank in the most important mission as a prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he was martyred best, the most brutal poison

All of the scholars believe that he was martyred  by poison. They just a lot of time will use dissimulation on talking about it publicly.

He only accepted those two wives who ended up poisoning him because again he was repeatedly asked by their father’s and he doesn’t turn down a gift or refused to take something that’s given

People not wanting to insult our opponents the other school of thought however you wanna call it is one thing, but refusing to tell the truth and trying to whitewash everything and make everything all Kumbaya let’s hold hands doesn’t work

what is said from the pulpit is not everything because it’s generally believed that there are many things that lay people cannot handle so a water down version of things is sometimes given or a generalized view, and a lot of things are glossed over and not discussed heavily

First, everyone must know that the verses of the Quran cannot be interpreted by anyone, even scholars, whether the interpretation is correct or incorrect, according to what is mentioned in some narrations from Imam Al-Sadiq (Source: Tafsir al-Ayyashi, Vol. 1, p. 17).
Second, it is mentioned in some narrations that Imam Al-Sadiq said: 'There is none among us who is not killed or poisoned,' and many narrations from the Prophet and Ahlulbayt state the same (Source: Al-Tabarsi, I'lam al-Wara bi-A'lam al-Huda, Vol. 2, p. 131). Also, Imam Al-Sadiq said that the Prophet was killed by two women under the orders of their fathers (Source: Al-Ayyashi, Tafsir al-Ayyashi, Vol. 1, p. 200).

Unfortunately, this is incorrect. If we continue down this path, we could argue that ISIS are 'God's people' simply because they act based on the premise that 'the Quranic verse speaks for itself.

Wa 'alaykum al-salam, 

according to the scholars of Tahqiq from both the 'Amma and the Khassa Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) was poisoned and attained martyrdom. 

This information may surprise lay people - because Sunni Mashayikh are great at hiding information, which could expose their favorite ones among the companions - but this is actually heavily supported by the narrations of both sides. 

Someone like 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud was even ready to swear an oath concerning this issue. This is how sure he was. 

The statement of Allah ta'ala "أفإن مات أو قتل انقلبتم على أعقابكم" in the 144th Aya of Al-i 'Imran shows that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him and his blessed family) would be killed/martyred, because in the Arabic language the "AW" (meaning: or) here is in reality understood as "BAL" (meaning: rather). 

As for the person(s) that poisoned him, then the jewish woman is actually not possible, because there are several years between the two incidents. The reason why the scholars of the 'Amma insist on this "explanation" is that otherwise people will understand that companions (read: not the real ones, but rather the hypocrites among them like the two women mentioned in Surat al-Tahrim) could be involved in this incident. 

The person trying to divert ones attention towards the poison by the jewish woman (see who narrated this in connection to the last illness!), is the number one suspect herself. 

She also mentioned the issue of giving "medicine" (read: most likely poison) despite Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) disallowing this (can be found in the most authentic sources of the 'Amma) and the reaction of Rasulullah clearly shows that he did not trust her or those present during the "medicine"-incident.

As for the protection of Allah ta'ala of His Messenger (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alih): It's the protection that enables the full proclamation of the religion and perfection of blessing upon the believers, and Allah ta'ala indeed protected his Messenger (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alih) from the plans of the disbelievers and hypocrites until the religion - all of it - was proclaimed and the perfection of blessing was reached with the proclamation at Ghadir concerning the Wilaya of Amir al-Mumimin (peace be upon him). 

Thereafter Allah ta'ala blessed his Messenger (sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam) with martyrdom just like he blessed the Imams from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) with the same. In fact there are narrations from the Ahl al-Bayt, which indicate that all of them were martyred either by the sword or by poisoning. 

 

Wa sallallahu 'ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa Al-i Muhammad wa 'ajjil farajahum.

This makes absolute sense because of the context of the previous verse. Jazak'Allah Khayran.
