Durood-i-Ibrahimi recitation

I have been jobless for quite sometime so someone told me to recite durood-i Ibrahim tasbeeh everyday. Now, we recite salawat all the time. One of my cousins said that we should only recite the salawat and not the durood-i-Ibrahim as it was an innovation, given that Prophet Muhammad ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and his family) is higher in status than all other prophets. I am not sure and couldn't find anything online. Can someone pls clarify?

it is nit biddah, rather it emphaizes the staus of Rasul Allah sawa and his family is for all times like the status of Aly Ibrahim as in that time. Also it shows that the Rasul Allah sawa and Ahlul Bayt as are the fulfillment od dua ibrahim as in sura baqarah 124-130 and in sura ibrahim. The Rasul Allah sawa even said i am ibrahimiy and i am the dua of my father ibrahim the prophet etc 

the connection that ibrahim as was the only other prophet to reach imamate is alo their 

you shayuq like sayyid mustafa qazwini reciting this duaa as part of their jummah litany etc

similar and the family of imran are the best of all nations in quran imran is also a name of abu talib as and his family means muhammad wa aly muhammad as

I think there may be some confusion here. Durood-e-Ibrahim is actually an authentic form of Salawat taught by the Prophet himself. The fact that it mentions Prophet Ibrahim does not mean he is being given a higher status. It is simply part of the wording that was taught.
