Getting married and having kids with no money.

I don't know that I'll ever have any money but I don't want to miss out on having a wife and children. I bring in $1,000 a month what is the likelihood that I could find someone that would accept my limitations?

It will be more challenging for you than for some others, but focus on what else you have and can bring into a relationship.  Are you a caregiver? Are you an organizer? Are you creative, compassionate, fun? Be honest about your financial situation, but also show any potential spouse your strengths too.

Saying istighfar a lot helps with financial problems and even all problems. Look up "istighfar stories" and there are many testimonies.

“Seek your Lord’s forgiveness, ˹for˺ He is truly Most Forgiving. He will shower you with abundant rain, and supply you with wealth and children, and give you gardens as well as rivers.”, as noted in Surah Nuh (71:10-12).

 

Yes 1000 is not a lot in the US, but in other countries it is fine. I know that in Iraq making 700 a month is perfectly fine. A doctor there makes like 2100 a month. So if it's possible for you to regularly get your funds transferred through internationally, you can have a normal life. You have options too, I heard Pakistan has a super low cost of living. And even though they're 3rd world countries life there is fine and normal. But you also have to think about visas and how you're going to get there. Student? Business? Look into which countries are easy to get into and stay in, as well as has a super low cost of living.

SSI is basically bayt ul mal for the mentally or physical ill, not transfereable. they cut you off once your out of the us for a month.

you need too understand if your wife is working that threatens your benefits, unless they say she is your stay at home care giver for mental health. the ssi isnt the main thing the medicaid is. with mental or physical issuses you need insurance.

what is your age ?

can you speak arabic/farsi/urdu?

why havent you applied for low income housing ? (a lower income man with his own place looks better than living at home )

does your family/threapist/social worker/ case manager think you can handle the stress of marriage and kids ?

are your disabilites genetic in a way you have a chance of passing thm on to your kids ?

are you willing to be a stay at home dad and could you handle it ? 

have you looked into ssi transtion to work year program ?

can you hsandle the stress of a real job ?

what region are you in so we can refer you to mashaikin and musala ?

i got married to a tahir wa bakirah Sayyid from a strong tribe and relgious family while i had no income so its possible but disability has to be looked at realistically in your case .

i am going to say this and it wont be popular, a disabled male is gonna to have much more diffculty than a disabled female

Try to find a financially independent religious woman , impress with your ikhlaq ( Herculean task ) 

get a women from overseas using your western nationality

Yes, I'm open to marrying a black Muslim american, But why ask? I've had a black girlfriend before I reverted.

People with families (children) are prioritised moving me down the list every time one of them applies put me off from acceptance for ever unless i make some babies.

I came off alcohol too fast and had a psychotic break, my ptsd can be severe with anxiety and hyper-vigilance but controlled on meds.

I'm in Georgia about an hour from Savannah.

Also I pray as and usually align with sunnis, My favorite of your suggestions is being a stay at home dad as long as I retain some income.

The reason I mentioned it is there a lot of African-American converts who have great difficulty in marriage so I just thought that might be an option. Many people I know who are European governments only wish to marry other. Europeans are very light skin Arabs or Indo Paks

Have you talked to any of the communities in Atlanta? Or Orlando. ? These are where the big Muslim communities are near there not really Savannah or the rural areas . 
 

I feel bad for all the converted brothers who seem to live down south we see at this forum. Those are horrible, horrible areas for our communities a lot of the times and for those who need resources.

I would look at applying for income based housing in a bigger city with more of a Muslim population. It doesn’t matter if you can get it right away you can’t even be considered if you don’t get on the waitlist.

Detroit is expanding their low income Housing and has a lot of programs to help with mental illness and they have the largest Muslim population in the country that was be something I would look into however, the public transportation is the downside there if you don’t drive

If you like the south Miami has a very good Iranian community and South Miami and again you can get on the list for low income Housing. They have a massive Housing project right across the street from the brand new beautiful Islamic center. They just built.

Social Security will allow you to work 20 hours a week in some cases, but they will take money out of your check and you have to do the math to see that it’s worth it

would your mother be opposed to you bringing a wife to the house to your current house where you live with her so you can get things built up and improved for a while that might be something to look into

Money is not everything bro.  Every person is unique and I’m sure you are an amazing person.  Just be comfortable in your own skin and show that you have goals.  It’s just as important to look at what a prospective partner also has to offer.  Two people who value one another can work together for a financially secure future.
