Salam sisters,

I've been reading threads on here for years about hayd and istihadha and the confusion, the conflicting advice, the stress during Ramadan. I've been through it myself.

I could never find a period tracker that followed Ja'fari fiqh. Every app out there is either Sunni-only or has nothing to do with our religious obligations. So I started building one with AI & my husband.

It's called Tuhr. The idea is simple:

— You log your cycle
— Tuhr classifies whether it's hayd or istihadha based on your marja's rulings
— It tells you your daily status for prayer and fasting
— It tracks your missed namaz and qada fasts across years
— Everything stays on your phone. No cloud, no account, no data collected.

We're still building it and planning early access for June.

I'd genuinely love feedback from this community; is this something you'd actually use? What features would matter most to you? What would put you off?

https://tuhr.app

Jazak Allah khair for reading this far. This community helped me understand so many of these rulings over the years, so it felt right to share them here first.

Wa alaikum salam  yes please, I would definitely use this. It’s honestly so hard finding something that follows Ja’fari fiqh properly. What would matter most to me is clear daily guidance for prayer and fasting, and accurate classification without confusion. I’d also love if we can select our marja so rulings are personalized.

It would be really helpful to include simple cycle tracking too (like ovulation and phases) so there’s a balance between deen and understanding our body. Also having an option to view everything in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar would be really important, especially for Ramadan and tracking qada.

I think it would be even more meaningful if the guidance is rooted in teachings from the Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام), and also helps us understand our body in a way that supports our rituals and acts of worship, not just rules.

Things like ghusl reminders, clear istihada guidance, and an easy qada tracker would make it even more useful. I’d personally prefer something simple, gentle, and not overwhelming. Also really love that it stays private

I’ll definitely be looking forward to it, insha’Allah. JazakAllah khair.

May Allah bless you both with success and continuous growth, and put barakah in it, insha’Allah  I think sharing it on TikTok and Instagram would really help it reach more sisters who need this.

Thank you so much! I am looking for early testers and users, and looking for feedback. Would you be interested in participating? I am also going to start a ig / TikTok and will share my journey.  What key features do you want as the first product?

Salam. Does the calendar have a way to note which days a married  woman was intimate with her husband? If she missed a period, this could be helpful to determine when she conceived.

Walekumasalaam,

@Hameedeh that is a very good suggestion, I did not thought of it. I need more inputs like these, I will speak with my husband and add that as a feature. would you be interested in helping us test the product?

JazakAllah khair yes, I’d definitely be interested in participating and testing insha’Allah. This is something I’ve genuinely been looking for.

For the first version, I think the key features should be simple and clearly structured:

Setup: choose marja + calendar (regular and Islamic/Hijri)

Cycle logging: easy input, including a clear option for the last stage (light discharge/spotting), since that part can be confusing

Classification: automatic hayd vs istihada based on the selected marja

Daily status: clear message showing whether to pray/fast or not

Guidance: basic ghusl reminders and simple istihada instructions

Tracking: clean qada tracker for missed prayers and fasts

Optional (supportive):
– each day has a clear label (like period, ovulation, or other phases) so it’s easy to understand your cycle at a glance
– a small section with simple explanations of hayd and istihada
– light spiritual support (like recommended duas or dhikr during hayd)

Overall, simplicity, clarity, and a gentle experience would matter most

I’m also really looking forward to following your journey on Instagram and TikTok, insha’Allah.

This is amazing thank you! that is exactly what I am planning to build or close enough, I would love for you to help me validate the design and what me and my husband have built so far, I don't know the rules of this forums, but I would be happy to walk you through the product so far that we have built and inshallah we will be starting on instagram and tiktok soon.

please take a look at https://tuhr.app/ (we added screenshots of the app).

Also I am happy to connect offline / call / whatever works if this forum allows exchange of information that way.

Salam, the screenshots are nice. Looks good. The only thing is the screenshot that mentioned the Holy Month of Ramadan had the wrong date. Here in the US, it started on Thursday, February 19, 2026 and Eid was Friday, March 20, 2026. I'm sure that will be easy for you to fix.

Sister, this  has been a major project for you and your husband. We can't thank you enough. May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) bless you.

JazakAllah khair  I took a look at the screenshots and it honestly looks amazing. The design, colors, and features all feel really clear and perfect for a first version. This is such a meaningful project mashaAllah.

I’d be really happy to help and stay involved, insha’Allah.

Also just to mention, it’s a bit hard for me to keep opening the website each time to check updates, especially since I’m mainly going there just for this. If possible, it would be much easier for me to stay in touch through messages (like WhatsApp or something similar).

And I’m deaf, so I wouldn’t be able to do calls, but I’m very comfortable with text. I’m happy to stay connected and share feedback, ideas, or anything else as things update!

Sister, you can post the link on your ShiaChat profile.

You can post WhatsApp or other information on your About Me page on your profile. It's better not to post your phone number in this topic due to spammers.

Spammers here usually never get to Advanced member because they are banned. However, everyone can see email addresses or phone numbers in a topic, so Mods discourage sharing personal info.

Dear, the Sisters Forum does not work. Mods cannot guarantee the gender of a registered member. We had males who were banned in the past and came back pretending to be female because they were mischiefmaking.

I wasn’t able to DM you here, it seems restricted. I’ve added my email to the waitlist for your Tuhr app, so you might be able to find me there. We can connect through email first, and then move to WhatsApp if that works insha’Allah

I was looking at the Prayer Progress section: Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. So when you complete each prayer you click on it to record the accomplishment?
