what time do you prefer to get up?

Did you make the night prayer at home or at the center?

Morning prayer at home or at the centers

Which additional supplications visitations and prayers you like besides what they’re able to do what time you get to the center

Dawson can’t get to a center you do at your house to organized with family

Do you participate in the tradition of eating a small amount of sweets, dates or water only after the morning prior to prove eating is lawful again

Are you doing a breakfast brunch when you have a lunch dinner what are you doing with the rest of the day?

Some people canceling celebrations due to the calamities before falling the community this year, just doing the prayers without celebrating

Anybody traveling to visit a family, the grades, friends, pilgrimage or different cities

Anybody thinking about doing one day obligatory precaution since the narration states the last month is always 30 days but it was 29 this year on the fourth fifth

Anybody doing the six days at the beginning of shawwal

Anybody thinking about trying the 40 day fast of prophet Moses peace upon them this recommended in the books of the late Misbah Yazdi then 40 days before Eid Adha

Share your plans, knowledge, thoughts, and opinions

Salam. Waiting for the crescent moon sighting to know if Friday March 20 is Ramadan 30 or Eid.

Most will be working that day, so only those who are at home would pray family Eid prayer to make sure children who are not at school (on Spring Break) are familiar with Eid prayer.

don’t most people use a personal lay or a sick day and take off work for the 5 Eids and Ashura ? Or at least Fitr Zahra Ghadir and Ashura .

Very unlikely between 97 and 99% chance the moon would be cited Thursday night but there’s always a slim chance that there’s clouds or storms everywhere and no one can see it

Hopefully most he’ll be able to take the day off and have a wonderful celebration

I guess I was highly blessed when I worked 9 to 5 jobs zone. They were a little vending jobs and add stores, but they always gave us off in New York and Michigan.

I would think with the federal anti-discrimination laws people could do it

Were construction where they lay you off every chance they get there’s no seniority no protections and my father he always took off St. Patrick’s Day, but as an unpaid day off

May become easy for the believers living in the west or may they be able to move to places whether they’re able to practice Islam

I’m not judging anyone situation. This is just shocking responses.

While Iran and scores of Muslims are fighting in the Epstein war, there is nothing more i want on Eid than to spread Tawheed and join in the media efforts to expose Epstein. We are in an unprecedented time period currently. But let those who wish to, or are vulnerable, or are feeling overwhelmed, not be overwhelmed or shamed, do what you can to your ability insha Allah.

Laylatul Qadr can still fall in any of the final ten odd nights, this should be our focus.

Salsm

we will get up at about three so everybody can shower do the night. Prayers do whatever else they need to do in terms of grooming.

Then make the morning prayer at the earliest time and my wife is making homemade Persian trail mix with special dates we’ll have on the side Khalas dates

Then go for ghusul

An a special sequence of Quran recitation supplications short supplications visitations Duas nudba eid sermon prayer Ziyarah

Then I’m making breakfast, stuffed peppers, bell peppers, stuffed with maple- almond butter granola, bananas, mango rcooked with olive oil  over then and with chocolate on the side 73% dark Madagascar, hazel and one of my favorites I allow myself to have chocolate once a week after them probably only a salad for dinner later

We don’t watch movies for about four months during the seasons, most of the community fast on an Office straight through so we’ll watch with brunch a hammer horror movie watching universal hammer horror, high fantasy old, sci-fi, weird movies has become our thing than what journeying to the Greyhound to go to New York for a day coming back Sunday. My son was already in spring break. Usually we get him off 3 to 5 days from school.

We try to do what we can but come Monday. We have three doctors appointments, then getting ready to pay bills and organize things in April and back to the grind.

Sayyid Sistani would more than likely be Saturday for the eastern hemisphere . Sayyid Khamini office is in chaos right now, the new leader is not recognized as a juris and is due to the war not making public appearances yet. However, according to the criteria of the late Sayyid Khamini which allowed going over the clouds using telescopes. There is a possibility it could be Friday, but no announcement has been made here in the United States is a blackout and Iranian websites so most of his followers are going with the local sightings by house of wisdom imam foundation the council of North American style or individual representatives, etc.

Probably would need 2 to 3 more hours for them to make an absolute decision

Juris who can be consulted if they couldn’t get an answer from his office are those for the Iranian people are those in Iran like Makarim Shirazi nuri hamadani musa shubari we are most closest to his rulings or others like Wahid or Jawad Allah mercy be upon them all

For those outside of your arm, they should wait for the office of the late leader or the office of the next most knowledgeable scholar or just the local communities if they can’t obtain a rolling from the first two sources

As of now, I’ve only seen the office of the late Sayyid Fadlallah Ra declare with certainty Friday

In states, it’s a possibility they may not come up with a for sure answer to between 10 and three in the morning

Mercy and the Muslim community

Check the map on moonsighting.com to see if the moon is visible in your country. The website is old so make sure you are looking at the map for 2026 not the old map for last year.

Edit: Do not follow ISNA which is Sunni.

Eid Mubarak to all, may Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) accept from us our food deeds and forgive our bad ones.

We will probably go in family to the centre and pray and meet with relatives there, inchaAllah.

Here in western Europe some groups of Sunni Muslims organised themselves and were able to spot the hilal yesterday Thursday at Maghrib time (proof with pictures) but office of All Murshid ruled Eid was on Saturday.

So basically I am (we are actually) prolonging from one day because otherwise there would be no group Eid prayer, giving zakat etc.

I know things are pretty messy right now but these folks (I do not even know how they are operating) need to step their level up or admit they are lagging, because Shias are always in a mess.

Allah Karim.

my personal opinion is what we need is a group that has moon sighters in each country and they not just report the moon, but they take pictures and post them with a timestamp and a date stamp is proof

You have organizations are saying the moon was seen, but they don’t mention where what time or show picture evidence for proof

There are many things we need to do to get organized. This is a valid point you brought up.

Salam,

Could someone please shed some insight into what this message below means regarding travelling? I understand Ayatollah Sistani requires the moon to be sighted without optical aid, ie naked eye.

This is the message in question from a Shia centre in Brisbane, Australia:

“[centre] announces that for the muqallideen of Ayatollah Sistani living in Brisbane and cities with same horizon; the sighting of the crescent has not been confirmed according to his Eminence’s conditions. Therefore for the Muqalideen of Ayatollah Sistani, they may observe precaution by travelling Saturday 21/03/2026

Eid prayer will be held InshaAllah on Sunday 22 March at 7:30am”

My main query: why are they asking us to observe precaution by travelling? Isn’t travelling to avoid fasting disapproved or have I misunderstood the message?

If mods could approve this message through quickly that would be much appreciated, thank you.

Yes this is exactly what those people are doing here, they have a Telegram channel where tens of people post their location and pics. They do this every month, not just month of Ramadan.

Sorry for late reply.

I would say that since some people in the US had Eid on Friday, they consider that, despite having not seen the moon on their side 24 hours after that, it might actually be wrong to fast.

But they still need to fast in theory since they have not seen the moon.

So they are a bit stuck here, and in that case, travelling remains the only option.

It's basically a loophole if you ask me.
