Salam

Couple of my colleagues were discussing with me that they’re the king fled, and our people had taken over Bahrain ? Did we just gain our Shia state in the gulf ? Any confirmation or proof?

Salam. After the US/Israel attacks on Iran February 28, 2026, Iran sent missile/drone retaliation attacks, including targets in Bahrain. I heard on national news (ABC Radio in the US) that the head guy in Bahrain left the country and went to Saudi Arabia. However, it was not repeatedly mentioned in subsequent news broadcasts. Nobody even thought about it again.

Today, if you ask google did the leader of Bahrain leave the country it would say something, paraphrasing, like the king sometimes travels to other countries and Bahrain government is still stable.

AI is updating itself. About an hour later, I asked the same thing again (did the leader of Bahrain leave the country). Here is google answer:

As of mid-March 2026, there are no credible reports indicating that King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa or Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa have permanently left or fled Bahrain. The leadership remains active, with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister frequently conducting international visits and returning to the Kingdom.
