salam

due to the war, many wakil and centers have distanced themselves. I  have sent a question on this his will, and view of protests in light of his death to main wakil for north America, he speaks no Arabic or english, and really wakilat means little have the death of a marja, so they may not respond especially with the unique situation involved here .

i divide alim ila talid into najaf and qum for most knowledgable, so for those looking for a new marja or doing taqlid in old issuses to Sayyid and new issuses to a new marja 

i consider currently the most knowledgable in qum to be equal between three

1. Ayatullah Udma Shaikh Abdallah Jawad Amuli (with preference due to his extensive knowledge of Quran beyond Fiqh)

2. Ayatullah Udma Shaikh Wahid Khursani 

3. Ayatullah Udma Shaikh Nasr Makarim Shirazi 

and in najaf the alim is one 

1. Ayatullah Udma Shaikh Bashir Najafi 

may we have an easy and speedy transtion, 

i should note it looks like the next wali faqihmost likely will not be a marja, and may not be ayatullah but a younger higher end hujjat ul islam wal muslimin

Salam. Those who follow Ayatullah Khamenei RA can still follow him. If any new questions arise in the future, they can look to another marja for new answers.

this really doesn’t align with a lot of the internal politics related to two or three of those names

If you consider multiple Maraja the most knowledgable, can you therefore follow more than one?

it is better to pick one as dividing can be difficult. Dividing should only be if there one is more knowledgeable in one field and another is more knowledgeable than the other field. If both are equal, you should pick one and stick with them.

Salam. The Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom (جامعهٔ مدرسین حوزهٔ علمیهٔ قم‎) recommended these seven men as a marja in the past. Two RA are no longer with us.

Grand Ayatullah Seyyed Ali Husseini Khamenei (RA, martyred 28 February 2026 - aged 86)
Grand Ayatullah Seyyed Ali Husseini Sistani (born 4 August 1930 - age 95 now)
Grand Ayatullah Seyyed Mousa Shubairi Zanjani (born 2 March 1928 - age 98 now)
Grand Ayatullah Naser Makarem Shirazi (born 25 February 1927 - age 99 now)
Grand Ayatullah Hossein Noori Hamedani (born 21 March 1925 - age 101 now)
Grand Ayatullah Wahid Khorasani (born 1 January 1921 - age 105 now)
Grand Ayatullah Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani (RA, passed away 1 February 2022 - aged 102)

Salam. Are we even sure these ulema are alive now? Were they martyred during the bombings of February 28?

all on that list are alive and well expect Sayyid Khamini and Shaikh Gulpygani 

we also just lost Wyatukkah Udma Shaikh Ishaq Fayyad this week in Najaf
