Fighting for a country in a war

Before i ask this no im not being deployed to war 

Is it Haram to fight/fought for a country that has/is doing an illegal invasion of another country (Eg Russo-Ukraine, Israel-Lebanon, Us-Iraq etc)

It depends on the details... Big difference between Israel advancing into Lebanon in order to expand its Greater Israel project and Putin's war against NATO aggression in neighboring Ukraine... The details of the conflict in question must be studied thoroughly and comprehensively

I was just using it as an example, some people look at Russia's war as justified and some look at it as A Stupid reason to invade a country

I couldn’t find anything off the English or Arabic site for Sayyid Sistani or Sayyid Khamenei is this is a very specific in modern issue.

I’m going to answer this question off general principles and possibilities

We have narrations that indicate not to go under the flag of a non Muslim at the believer must always have the upper hand in the DV government before the government of the awaited one is a tyrant government and a false God

That would indicate that joining a foreign military or a military, other than the military of the awaited one is not allowed

There’s also an idea that based upon the narrations of upper hand and doing good, we should be involved in politics, the military, the police, the fire, and all fields influence them to make them more Islamic as long as we’re doing a job that doesn’t evolve, killing or impression oppression

An interesting example during the Iran, Iraq, holy conflict many of our brothers and sisters on the Iraqi side were forced in the various positions by the government they either had to do jobs off from the battlefield or some I’ve read would fire their guns into the air, they wouldn’t fire at their fellow brothers and sisters.

There are similar types of discussions that go on about being police officers border, patrol officers, FBI agents, fireman, lawyers, prosecutors, child, protection, workers, social workers, and other type of job jobs within non-Muslim countries
