I have a question regarding ghusl.

When doing ghusl e haiz, you have to first remove all the natural oil that the body has or grease off your body, right?

I've been having a lot of doubts and waswasa doing ghusl e haiz and I used to end up bathing for almost 3 hours.

I apply soap and rub it on my entire body with a loofah. I do this entire process twice.

After doing this twice, if I again felt like some part is still a bit greasy, I used to apply soap again (especially in the outer area of my ear, which is the greasest area).

Alhumdulillah, I'm much better now. I apply soap only twice, and if I feel anything after that, I leave it to Allah and stand for ghusl.

But I still have a question,

1. How many times are we supposed to apply soap according to islam and applying soap twice is required or not?

2. If the oil or grease is natural on the body, then why is it said to remove it off before performing ghusl?

3. Also, for ghusl e janabah, do we have to remove the grease?

I follow Ayatollah Sistani.

Salam. Sorry that nobody replied to you.  Soap is a luxury and we have to be thankful if we have it. So many people go into a river to take ghusl and they don't have soap. Since you follow Ayatullah Sistani, may Allah prolong his life, maybe someone will reply.

Salam

you’re understanding this a little bit different than the reality of it. That’s OK. It happens to the best of us.

The oil that’s the problem is the oil grease or dirt that’s just so thick. It prevents water from reaching the skin.

It’s recommended to take a pre-rinse or rubbing in desert areas or if for us in the west to just wash your hair and wash your body with soap and wash off then take ghusul so that any dirt and grease is removed you don’t have to scrub. You just have to do a normal washing.

called istaii not enough translation is that great but it’s like the same bathing you do for a dead body before you do the religious washing it’s a preliminary washing

So you wash the hair with shampoo don’t have to use conditioner, but you can rinse it out. Wash your face and the rest of your body. The soap rinse it off make your intention than make ghusul

If you’re a person who has extreme doubts, we, nor doubts, after the third doubt, it says more than three doubts satanic whispers

The washing is just to get rid of thick dust grease and dirt

All the ghusul jannabah hayd istahadiah nafas Jummah are same

This is not an issue with there’s much difference in any of the scholars

Specifically for your scholar, Sayyid Sistani if there’s a major event where there’s an narration to take ghusul like 27 and 13 Rajab then unless you pass gas or something, you don’t have to make wudhu but for Sayyid Khamenei Ra you do

as for ghusul jannabah all jurist say you have to wash the hands before pouring water and that you have to wash the private parts before that . Sayyid Khoy Ra strongly recommends washing the mouth and nose, and some of his rulings. The language could indicate a commanded it of that was something that wasn’t 100% clear .

Overall, the rules of ghusul are mostly the same

wallahu Alam
