what is your favorite english translation of the Quran and why?

Yusuf Ali Abdallah for reading because I am used to it since 25 years or so, plus he was at least bohra with Shia tendencies 

I usually recommend Ali Quli Qari because it has a simple poetic flow and the translator is Shia . 

for Tasfir in English translation I like Tasfir Mizan because it presents three angles Quran by Quran Quran by narrations and discussions which whole is available English for free online and for clsssic Tasfir Qummi also available for free online 

for teaching I do my own Dars Quran from grammar parent, and applied meaning of grammar relational verse to other verses and narrations relational verse to jurisprudence relation of verse to history, quantum physics, astronomy in biology relation of verse of the holy 14 their followers and their enemies relation of verse to practical and theoretical, mysticism and other relevant discussions usually one class will be one section of the chapter about three days a week so it takes about 7 to 7 1/2 years finished one course restarted for the second time this I modeled my approach after our mentor Ayatullah Udma Shaikh Abdallah Jawad Amuli Ayatullah Udma Sayyid Ruhullah Musawi Khumanyi and Ayatullah Sayyid Muhammad Hussayn Tabatabai as opposed to the tradtion method of say Sayyid Khoei Sayyid Ruhani Sayyid Fadlallah I’ve just relying on 15 main tasfir  school and 15 main tasfir  the other school in presenting the views points encounter points. I also prefer the first style I mentioned in the scholars with similar styles over the medieval style of just preventing the narrations that relate to the verses and nothing else.
