Assalamualaikum

Got some doubts that i have had for some time, and instead of last time, where i wait around and ended up having a full blown faith crisis. I decided to ask these questions now while my mind is still relatively, sane.

1. If God laws are perfect, why are there still chance of the law being abused or having to find a way.

E.g, wife living with abusive husband, and no jurists, and not being able to get divorced. Or fasting in the polar region.

Most answers said that the law are perfect, but the humans doing it arent. But shouldn't a perfect law account for human errors or misinterpretation?

(Although now thinking it more I guess its more a limitation on the humans, not God, though I am interested in your answer)

2. Why do the Quran sometime not answers the kafir question, and merely said "the kafir said so and so" or something along those lines

Some ayat do answer it, but some dont (i cant remember)

An example is the Surat I just read earlier

50:3-5

To come back [to life] after we have died and become dust? That is too farfetched.’

We know very well what the earth takes away from them: We keep a comprehensive record.

But the disbelievers deny the truth when it comes to them; they are in a state of confusion.

*M.(عليه السلام). Abdel Haleem Translation

It did answer it later on

50:11

as a provision for everyone; how with water We give [new] life to a land that is dead? This is how the dead will emerge [from their graves].

*M.(عليه السلام). Abdel Haleem Translation

But what if that answer doesnt suffice or misunderstood? Does that mean that I am a disbeliever? Again, i forgot the ayat, but often than not my thoughts matches with the thoughts of the disbelievers in the Quran and I am worried.

(These two below are more of worry, than doubts)

3. I find some arguments for God in the Quran to be not compelling or just not enough. Look at the sky, or the mountains. Yet i feel nothing. Ofcourse I know God created the sky and mountains through natural process. But if I dont believe in God in the first place, I would assume those are natural and doesnt feel that they are created.

If i was alive at that era, and having only that ayat, or information, and i found them to be unconvincing, would i be a disbeliever?

I believe God right now, through cause and effect, and how infinite regress is nonsensical imo, and how the creator of everything being perfect sound logical, and the perfect being can only be one. And the best Monotheists religion so far is Islam, because the Prophet came from 6th century Arabia, which was a very cruel place, and The Prophet delivered a religion even though he isnt educated.

But if I was never taught these things by friends, and instead only hear about the design argument, and I find it unconvincing, what then?

4. I feel nothing when reading the Quran, nor in some part of religion. Sometime I am not even sure if I truly believe. What if deep deep down, down in my brain, there is unfaithfulness. Will I go to hell?

I see people converting to Islam with just a mere recitation of a Quran and here I am.

I know I am an obstinate person, with pride and arrogance problem. Thats probably why.

Or maybe its because I spend alot of time online in western spaces, where anti religion rhetoric are rampant

I dont know, sometime I feel like I am not a true believer.

Perhaps God had sent me multiple chance but i always pick the easiest route

I am the type of person who will say "If God hasnt made x a sin, i will do x everyday"

Sorry for the rant at the end. Thanks.

Salam surely you are not a disbeliever if an answer  doesn't suffice you or you misunderstood it which every verse has both apparent &  deep aspects of meanings which for understanding deeper meanings we need explaining it by prophet Muhammad (pbu) or an infallible Imam

Moreover, the Quran has some features that necessitate tafsir in all times. Some of these features are the following:

  • Various and multiple meanings. The Quran has exoteric and esoteric meanings. Imam Ali (a) states in this regard: "The apparent aspect of the Quran is beautiful and its hidden aspect is deep. Its marvels do not expire, and it wonders do not end."[9]

Because answering to the Kafir is duty of prophet Muhammad (pbu) & infallible Imams or someone who has gained his knowledge through them which in similar fashion there is commands about praying & Hajj & etc which details of doing these have not been explained in holy Quran which only prophet Muhammad (pbu) & infallible Imams or someone who has gained his knowledge through them can explain it to people .

  • The Quran does not mention the details in many cases. For instance, the Quran commands the Muslims to pray, fast, and perform hajj, but it leaves out many details of how these rituals are to be performed. This is true even in the case of doctrines and beliefs.

The Quran has tried to convey the truths of the Unseen World in the form of the forms and concepts of this world. Understanding the depth of these truths requires instruction and explanation.

So then you must use your wisdom & reasoning

Imam Ali (a) says, "Nothing sets religion right but reason."[20] Allama Tabataba'i mentions that more than three-hundred verses of the Quran call people to thinking and using reason, and not even one verse of the Quran requires adhering to religion without understanding.[21]

Concept of water in majority of shia hadiths about holy Quran is about Imamate which without accepting Imamate all deeds of us will be soulless  likewise a dead  land without water which it has been mentioned during  reappearance of Imam Mahdi (aj) dead people will emerge from their graves which it has been called as "Raj'a"

Quote

Rajʿa (Arabic: الرَّجعَة), is the belief that a group of people who have died will return to the Earth shortly after the reappearance of the twelfth Shi'a Imam, al-Mahdi (a). It is a belief particular to the Shi'a Muslims.

This is about both of resurrection (Ma'ad) & Raj'a which still  disbelievers will deny the truth after both of these two which maybe in  Raj'a will be more in state of confusion than "Ma'ad".

You won't go to hell because of this which you need just to find a good Tafsir from a shia scholar likewise Tafsir al-Mizan or contemporary Shia Tafsirs .

Salam remaining steadfast after converting is more important than converting  which everyone including me has pride and arrogance problem which being obstinate person for remaining steadfast in way of truth is a good attribute but on the other hand in stte of denying the truth will be the horrible attribute which you already have remained in the way of truth although of all of ups & downs which inshaAllah you & us will be remained steadfast in the way of truth inshaAllah.

If you feel that it can harm your faith so then limit your time in such spaces or leave them .

Allah wants ease of us in route which he puts easiest route in our front .

This is common matter for everyone even me which everyone has such desire to doing sin but for a better good we follow orders of Allah.
