Salaam,

If I remember correctly, there is no jurisprudential prohibition against doing it, however, from the spiritual aspect of it, you should not do it because it damages your soul.

I can be wrong.. if I am, someone can correct me. But this is to the best of my knowledge.

Is it wrong or bad in Shia Islam to hold grudges?

Well, according to the dictionary grudge means a persistent feeling of animosity or ill-will or resentment.

You can be keep persistent feeling of animosity against enemies of Allah (عزّ وجلّ) or Ahlebait (عليه السلام) or of humanity but do not keep it of petty sinners, they can do taubah or Allah (عزّ وجلّ) might forgive them because of their good deeds. So, keep yourself light bro.

How about disconnecting from them forever instead, like forgetting they even exist

What about if we see them everyday or sometimes? Or we hear about them? That can destroy us too.

Salam it's better which if you can forgive so then forgive them & try to ignore seeing them or hearing about them as much as possible for you  likewise distracting your mind by another matter when you see them or hear about them .

Harboring negative emotions can rot you from the inside. Better to let go of the person even if you come in there presence. You just drop support and attatchment to the person and move on.
