[Guest Imām Zayd al-Shahīd]

This poem could have been uttered by the Palestinian resistance today:

 

And whoever seeks the withheld wealth through his spear,

He either lives or is struck down by calamities.

When a sharp mind is paired with a sharp sword,

And a proud spirit, injustice avoids you.

*

And when a people attacked me, I attacked them,

So, O people of Hamdān*, am I unjust in this?

* The Hamdān tribe (in Yemen) was very loyal to Imam' Ali ع and his sons, and have been ever since - they are Zaydi and follow the Imams of the Progeny ع throughout the ages
