I am thinking of getting an online therapy, problems is they are all secular, and even if i found a religious one, i live in a sunni majority country. Is it worth it? Some of my problem is related to religion.

(Yes I tried ATWK, but man is it slow)

You should but make sure they are Muslims, if they have any issue regarding sins and they believe it’s not a crime, they will promote it to you.

What is ATWK website? I tried to find them but couldn't.

I am sorry you are having a problem and insha'Allah it is temporary. Berak Hussein is a popular Shia therapist.  https://www.instagram.com/berak_hussain/?hl=en

It’s an application sister, there you can ask questions and receive help from a therapist.

How can I find this application and check it out?  Is there a link or is it an app to install?

Don't visit a non Muslim/non religious therapist. It will only make matters worse.

I agree with this. I pulled my kid from social - emotional class, what is called dean’s class a couple weeks ago. He homeschools but we have a online school to help with reading, writing, and math. I oversee the classes to make sure he is engaged.

A few issues came up and I would prefer he works with a professional Muslim therapist to develop resiliency skills than an unlicensed teacher if/when he needs this support.

So much kick back from the school on what is best for his education and multiple people getting pulled into meetings with me.

Another concern I have is he is one of the only boys in the class. In one class he is the only boy and the teacher routinely calls on all girls before she calls on a boy. I haven’t brought this up in the meetings yet though but can only imagine what 12 years of this in a public school might do to a boy.

For two years of my higher secondary school (co-educational) , I was the only boy in my class too. It is a difficult existence. I understand what he might be going through.

To me, it’s worth finding a non-Muslim/secular therapist. I’ve been to both non-Muslim and Muslim therapists.

Sometimes you need a second pair of non-biased eyes to give you therapeutic advice. Many Muslim therapists, although knowledgeable, will color their rhetoric through a religious lens rather than a scientific one. So it all depends on what you’re looking for when deciding to seek help.
