Ayatollah Khamenei made it Wajib (obligatory) to help Lebanon by any means especially financially. Some people in Iran selling their vehicles, some women in Iran selling their jewelry to help Lebanon.

Thanks for sharing. Do you know if Ayatollah Sistani made it wajib as well. I have been trying to interpret the following statement by Ayatollah Sistani but am not sure exactly. https://imam-us.org/official-statement-from-sayyid-sistani-on-the-recent-attacks-on-lebanon

Even if sayid sistani didn’t give fatwa saying it’s wajib, we all must help our siblings in Lebanon because they are fighting one of the biggest terrorists in the world. Our brothers who are sacrificing themselves are protecting us so the basic thing we can do is donations and make dua for them.

A. Sistani said his followers can help through Khums. My understanding is that since A. Khamenei is ولی فقیه (think of it as the head of the Maraji), it becomes Wajib for all Muslims regardless of who they are following. But when it comes to the details of how much from Khums etc., one should refer to its own Marji (in your case A. Sistani).

Thanks. I asked Chat GPT 4 about if A. Khamenei's had issued any fatwas in the past 2 months and it said it didn't have any updates since October 2023.

I agree. I was looking into Sistani's position not to form an individual position but in hopes of better understanding the social and political situation. When A.Sistani issued the fatwa in 2014 to protect Shrines and certain cities from ISIS, my understanding is hundreds of thousands of people stepped up and formed the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).
