Wa Aleikum Salaam,

A Sunni Muslim who follow Qur'an and the Sunnah and do not fall for sinning and do good deeds and who do not hate, mock and lower down Prophet Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام) will be by Grace of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) saved, only Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) can judge. All this can be proved from Qur'an.

The Doors of the Heaven
Amir’ul-Mu’mineen ‘Ali (عليه السلام) narrates that the Heaven has eight doors. One door is for the Prophets (S) and the truthful ones (the Siddiqeen). The second is for the martyrs and the Saleheen (benevolent). The other five doors are for our friends and Shi’as who believe in our Vicegerency (Imama) and help us. I shall stand near the Bridge of Sirat and pray for the safe passage of the Shi’as and our helpers. At that time a herald would call from the firmament: We have accepted your prayers! You have the right to intercede on behalf of your Shi’as! Each of them too can intercede for seventy thousand of their friends and neighbors! The eighth door of the Heaven is for the other Muslims who do not have the slightest animosity towards the Ahl-ul-Bayt. They will enter the Heaven through this door.

Al-Khisal (book) : 6/408

  • Chapter six: Six deeds to go to paradise.

Authenticity

Just like other books of al-Shaykh al-SaduqAl-Khisal has gained the attention of Shi'a scholars, and its hadiths have been reported in many Shi'a hadith collections such as the Four BooksBihar al-anwar, and Wasa'il al-Shi'a.

English Translation

This book has been translated to English titled A Numeric Classification of Traditions on Characteristics[3]. Also, a part of the book is published under the title, The prophetic hadiths in al-khisal [4]

Message of Thaqalayn, vol. 10. no. 1, Spring 1430/2009.

Sunni scholars have also narrated the prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) saying:

“O Ali! If anyone spends a course of time the length of Prophet Nuh’s ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) lifetime in worship, and has gold the size of the mountain of Uhud and gives it all away in charity, and has a long life that allows him to perform Hajj a thousand times by foot, and is then wrongfully and innocently killed between Safa and Marwah, yet doesn’t believe in your imamate and succession O Ali! Will never smell the scent of heaven and will never enter it.”[14]

Does all of this mean that no one other than the Shia will go to heaven?

Those who weren’t Muslim can be divided into two categories:

1- The infidels and rejecters of faith: Those who knew Islam was the true religion, yet refused to accept it out of negligence and other personal reasons. This group deserve to go to Hell and remain there forever.

2- Those who never heard of Islam or what they heard of was a small part of it, making it resemble other religions that they knew were false. Such people will be saved given they were sincere in their own religions.

Islam says these people will have a chance if they had followed their own religions; religions that were in harmony with their human nature.

The same things that were said go for those who were Muslim, but didn’t hear about Imam Ali (عليه السلام) or heard very little.

In a nutshell, all of those whom the truth hasn’t reached not as a result of shortcoming and not striving for the truth, don’t deserve to go to Hell, because it is the place for the sinners, and those who tried but never found the truth aren't considered sinners and negligent.

So a Sunni who is very pious and well acquainted with Shia ideology, but still does not accept Amir ul momineen as a divinely appointed successor and adores the oppressors of Ahlulbayt ( like the 3 caliphs and some wives ) considered worthy of entering heaven ?

Salam yeah They are still worthy of going to heaven which for example majority of muslims in era of  Amir ul momineen who fought in his army against cursed Muawyiah while they still adoresed the oppressors of Ahlulbayt ( like the 3 caliphs and some wives ) which  Amir ul momineen just has been their political leader which by martyrdom under banner of  Amir ul momineen so then they entered to heaven .

Those people were called Shia of Ali , and they almost all hated Usman but admired the first 2 caliphs generally

Not talking about those,  talking about Sunnis of  today, just bear in mind sunnjs of today Do not hate muawiyah generally speaking they just think that he was at fault

Salam historically people who recognized Imam Ali (عليه السلام) as fourth caliph have been called as Alawis which people who recognized Imam Ali (عليه السلام) as first caliph & not accepted three sunni caliphs have been called as Rafida which gradually Rafida has been changed into just Shias of Ali (عليه السلام) .

There is some Sunnis of today  who hate  cursed Muawiyah but they conceal it due to fear from radical Wahabis which sometimes maybe call him a fault so therefore giving a general opinion about all Sunnis of today is wrong because they have different categories which even some of them don't make difference between caliphs so they praise Imam Ali (عليه السلام) besides of cursed Muawiyah so therefore we only can give our opinion about them by examining them one by one  .

Again , hating or rejecting Uthman is not the same as rejecting first 2 caliphs

so essentially no way to know for sure even pious Sunnis will go to heaven per Shias ?
anyone who rejects 12 imams as divinely appointed leaders be allowed in heaven?

Salam yeah Paradise has not guaranteed for anyone whether Sunni or Shia muslim.

If they have rejected 12 imams as divinely appointed leaders due to ignorance while they have not access to resources& information  but they have been pious sunnis so then still they have chance of going to Paradise.

Ask your marja, mine’s ruled that “Sunnis” are Muslims in this dunya but not in akhira, so they will be judged accordingly.
