So I think my phone is najis in the past, used to clean it with wet tissue. But I just asked in leader.ir/en and the reply is basically the phone is still impure. How do I clean my phone without bricking it with water? I have already asked a follow up question in the leader.ir site but I still received no answer.

Also, I have tried to go around this problem by touching my phone when my hand is dry (if I am abt to dry) but apparently sweat exists and it porbablys till najis, so thats an extra couple of days worth of salat that is invalid! Yay! (Sarcasm)

I dont know if I should repeat my salat...

Thanks

According to Ayatollah Safi [Golpaygani] you if you can separate cover of phone from it's electrical part so then clean exterior cover of phone by  drawing water  in order to not damage the device .

Removing impurity from electrical objects

Hello,  How does the ways to remove impurity from objects such as laptops or other devices where it is not possible to run water over all of them, but you can spray water on parts of it in a controlled manner and then with a cloth or a dry towel remove the water?

Hello and thank you for your contact with the National Center for Answering Religious Questions.

Electric objects such as laptops and mobile phones, if they become impure, like other impure objects, they must be washed with water to purify them. It cannot be purified by spraying it with a wet hand or a wet tissue. If you can, you should separate parts of these devices that are impure and draw water; For example, open the cover of the phone and draw water so as not to damage the device. In this way, it is purified. (1)

I have read somewhere that in jurisprudence, most scholars agree that the sun can purify surfaces like the ground, walls, or other immovable objects from najāsah, provided certain that the surface should be naturally dry.

Why not you put your dry phone under morning sun light (not too hot) for short while and flip it so sun light  fall all over the surface of the phone.  Then consider it clean.

But that is only for immovable objects, I don't think you can apply that to a phone.

I would cover the holes of the phone and quickly put it in and out under running water. I've done similar and the phone didn't get damaged.

You have to be sure that it was/is najas, "I think" won't count:

A well known religious law says: "Everything is ritually pure for you unless you come to know that it is ritually impure." This law declares everything to be pure unless one becomes sure a particular item has become impure. And as long as you are not sure that it has become ritually impure (najis), it is to be considered pure and you can apply all the rules of purity to it without any hesitation or doubt.

Most phones these days come with some kind of IP rating unless you have a very old phone so such phones can be put under tap water for a few seconds without any issue.

Why cant you use a spray bottle? set it on full mist, and then spray the parts you want to clean. Just cover all entrances to the phone,  I doubt the charging port or speakers are najis. Unless your phone screen is cracked some mist is fine. Do at your own risk though.

YTT Touchscreen Mist Cleaner, Screen Cleaner Spray, Fingerprint Cleansing, Screen Cleaner for You iPad, Laptop, MacBook Pro, Cell Phone, iPhone ... Like this but more mist less droplets
