Mate, chill out. It isn't referring to Satan nor is there a single line or verse about any profanity. Nor is there any sexual or negative messages anywhere in there or promotion of anything negative. It talks about being a good person and other such things throughout? All due respect Ur just being rude now. If there was anything bad or profane anywhere even later on in the lyrics I wouldn't ask for an edit. If you can't say anything nice then please don't accuse others and assume things before hearing them . The verses about "Seeing his light' and "He'd like to come and meet us" and "If we can sparkle he may land tonight" although seem actually to refer to a spaceman in Bowie's original meaning but many Say it may be referring to the Second coming of Christ. But I also like to think of it as referring to anyone good and holy as the great "starman" . That's all

If you hadn't anything nice to really then one shouldn't relay anything at all lest you say that which causes unnecessary conflict

Salam clearly you are unfamiliar with description of Satan in christanity which in  Christianity  there is famous belief which the Satan is fallen angle which is equivalent to being the spaceman which in similar fashion his fall has been done by lightning which has been full of sparkles  which according to Christanity lucifer will be fallen on earth with lightning  in similar fashion of the"Spaceman"  who surely lucifer is good for Satanists & occultists likewise David Bowie who has been interested in Kabala & Crowleyism

"Satan fall from Heaven like lightning." Luke 10:18

  • Historical context of Luke 10:18: The setting of this scripture plays a major role in our understanding. In his ministry, Jesus empowers 72 followers to drive out demons. Their success prompts His remark, which signifies a spiritual breakthrough and the definitive defeat of Satan’s realm.
  • Theological interpretation of ‘I have seen the devil’: This phrase, while initially alarming, signifies a pivotal moment in Christian Theology. Whether seen as the literal ejection of Satan from heaven or symbolic of an existential spiritual event, this verse underscores the victory of good over evil.
  • Symbolism of Lucifer’s fall: Interpreted symbolically, Lucifer’s fall represents evil’s defeat and heaven’s purification from malice. Such visual metaphor strengthens the idea of Satan’s downfall and the triumph of God’s kingdom.
  • Connection with the fall of Satan in other Scripture: The narrative of Satan’s fall appears in other biblical texts, such as Isaiah 14:12 and Revelation 12:7-9. These parallel narratives align with Luke 10:18, solidifying the portrayal of Satan’s defeat.

“One Magical Movement from Kether to Malkuth”: Occultism in the Work of David Bowie

Quote

One of the twentieth century’s best-known popular musicians, David Bowie (1947–2016) drew upon a diverse range of influences in crafting his lyrics. Among these was occultism. As with many members of his generation, Bowie pursued a ‘pick and mix’ individualist approach to what he called ‘spirituality,’ rejecting institutionalised Christianity while taking an interest in a broad variety of culturally alternative belief systems. Bowie introduced occultist elements into his work in the early 1970s, adding references to Aleister Crowley and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in songs like “Quicksand” and possibly also “After All.” Rather than reflecting a committed adherence or practice of these occultist currents, such references probably represented attempts to imitate other popular musicians like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Bowie’s interest in occultism resurfaced in a more concentrated fashion when living in the United States in 1974–75. Suffering from severe paranoia, he came to believe that malevolent supernatural forces were acting against him and turned to occultist literature, particularly the work of Arthur Edward Waite and Dion Fortune, for protective purposes. He also developed an interest in Qabalah, demonstrating this in the lyrics to “Station to Station”. After 1976, he vocally distanced himself from occultism, but his work continues to offer an important case study for the influence of occultism in the history of popular music.
