We need to stop using Microsoft and other proprietary software right now, they will use things against us. We should use Linux to run our servers and use mybb. Linux is best for server use and myBB is a basic forum software and will help reduce operating costs and make ShiaChat a much safer and more reliable place to work with. We should use Ubuntu Server since that is the best linux regarding ease of use and we can add a GUI.

I believe the server is running Linux and as for switching to myBB then the forum would have been hacked a couple of times by now. While at this point with millions of posts on Shiachat, you can't possibly migrate to anything else without losing the site, its search ranking and reach.

MyBB is free and open source and are developed by smart people who identify weaknesses in the programs and improve them. Any proprietary software that you pay for is not an improvement. Free and open source products are improved on a gradual basis. I use a Mac so I know better now. Google is pro-Zionism along with Microsoft.

Mac is not exactly open source either. One of the reason for their success is the closed down proprietary nature of their Hardware + OS and sorry to be the bearer of bad news:

Johny Srouji is actually Palestinian, not Israeli. His parents were Palestinians. Steve Jobs was actually Syrian and he did right things. He had a true growth mindset.

We should get a external hard drive and back up data and download Linux Mint and use Windows on a Virtual Machine.

You will lose your data its simple. A virtual machine is a virtual environment where you run a different operating system. VirtualBox is a free software that lets you virtualize a different OS and it is free and open source. I also meant running Windows on a Virtual Machine. Linux Mint includes LibreOffice which is better than Microsoft Office and is compatible with Microsoft Office documents.

There are plenty of easy to use distributions out there like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Pop OS. Linux is pretty easy to get used to if you use Linux Mint which is based on Ubuntu and has a Windows like interface. Linux Mint is best for newcomers from Windows. The Linux Mint community is always ready to help out. Ubuntu was designed to be easy to use with Linux Mint being a derivative of Ubuntu. Also most Linux distros are free. You can also play games on Linux as Steam includes Proton which allows Windows games run on Linux. Linux Mint includes LibreOffice which is much better than Microsoft Office and is free. I recommend it if you don't like Windows 11.

Honestly, pretty much every company is pro-Zionism at this point. To avoid using Zionist products you'd pretty much have to either move to a non-western country or become a hermit in the woods.

I don't have window 11, mine is window 10. My laptop is old but not that old. I was wondering if window no longer support my laptop, can I use linux at that time? Does linux support old laptops?

Yes it does work well on older laptops that aren't necessarily compatible with Windows 11. Linux Mint works well on Intel Core i first gen to 6th gen as well as even the current Intel and AMD chips. The same applies to Ubuntu and the upcoming 24.04 release of Pop! OS (which has advanced features to make any PC work closer to a Mac). If you're a beginner for Linux, I'd recommend Mint as the starting point since it is very Windows-like in terms of interfaces. If you feel the need to use Windows 10 alongside Linux Mint, the installer gives you an easy dual boot option during the setup phase so you don't have to worry about losing the important data on Windows.

I will see what I can do. I want to use linux because I want to boycott microsoft for good but i'm worried about other things like using adobe, words, photoshop etc. Thanks anyway and I will update you if anything new happens.
