Imam Ali married Abu Bakr's wife after his death? I didn't know this

Not only that, Imam Ali (عليه السلام) raised Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr as him own son. He was always loyal to Imam Ali (عليه السلام) and was killed by Muawiya's henchmen for his loyalty.

You mentioned the existence of authentic narrations, yet they seemed to be missing in your post. Was this simply a mistaken claim from your side , or did you just forget to post them?

Thanks.

You still haven't answered which one of the 2 stories you believe.

I already said there are no authentic narrations about the marriage not taking place and fully ready to believe they were happily and joyously married - just need to know which version to believe.

It would be wrong to believe such narration which says Umer was married to the daughter of Imam Ali (عليه السلام) because of the fact that when Imam Ali (عليه السلام) was on the pulpit of caliphate he said: "If people asks me to be unjust to the extent of what is in the mouth of ant, I would never do that". Then how could Imam Ali (عليه السلام) marry his daughter to Umer who in his eyes was a usurper and on batil and thus, did injustice by marrying his daughter to such wrong person.

It isn't from the articles of belief, rather a historical detail. The narrations support that the marriage took place but the reason and circumstances differ.

Ok, it contradicts your earlier statement. At least the matter is clear now.
