Concept of "new" water during wudhu

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

Salam alaikum all.

I have a question with regards to the water we use in wudhu. For reference I have already read the fatawa of Ayatullah Sistani but did not find the answer there.

At what point does it become necessary for us to ensure that water from one part does not mix with the water from another part? I know that the water we use to wipe the head and feet should not be mixed with water from the face/hair that was washed initially.

I think it is better if I ask specific questions:

1- While washing the face, if the water that is dripping down from the face gets collected in the palm (while taking water from the tap again), is it ok to use that? Or do we need to wash our palm with the tap water to ensure that there is no mix?

2- While washing the left hand, if water from if any part of the right hand besides the palm goes on/touches the left hand, is that considered as old water? Eg while I am or after washing my left palm, my left hand fingers come into contact with the back of the right hand or my right arm. Can I do masah with my left hand now?

Or is this new water so I should wipe over that spot again with the wetness in the left palm? What if the new wetness in the left palm is more than the old wetness in the right palm?

Or do I have to start the wudhu over?

The same question would apply if, instead of touching my right hand, I touched the tap or sink.

You get the idea.. the above two questions I face on a daily basis but specifically the concept of water use is I think not very well explained in the books of jurisprudence or maybe it is just me that is missing something.

Many thanks.

Salam you Wudhu in all cases is correct so therefore you don't need to start over it which generally not mixing water is about not mixing margins with each other which wetness of hand is not the case ; which for example if during wiping your palm becomes dry  in a hot day so then you can wet your hand again by remaining water on your face  so then continue wiping .

1.It's ok to use it which you don't need to wash your hand with tap water again .

2.It's not old water which you only must continue procedure of Wudhu , so then you can do Masah with your left hand without starting it over .

you can only do wiping just one time which only washing face for maximum  twice time at first stage of Wudhu is allowed .

Thanks for your reply.

What about in the case that the water on the hands is not enough to do masah of the feet (like maybe only to wipe a small area then it dries out) and there is also no more water on the face? This happens during hot weather. Should one do tayammum?

Salam , Just small amount of moisture from face or other hand is enough for wiping which you only can do Tayamum when you have no access to water .

@Ashvazdanghe

Thank you. Sometimes I can see my hand has moisture and I can feel water on my feet as I am doing the wiping but when I check to feel it, it is dry. Should I consider that masah has been done?

Salam your Masah has been done which Masah is just about having minimum touching of water even you think touched place is dry after Masah.
