  1. 1. Where do you tend to open the Quran?

    • On the first half (page 1 to 250)
      0
    • Around the middle ( page 250 to 350)
      0
    • On the last half (page 350 to 604)
      0
    • Every single time is different (could be page 85, or 230, or 407, or 571)

Salam everyone,

Bit of a random question, I am aware. When you do istikhara, do you normally open the quran around the middle? Or do you pick a page from the sides, or really anywhere without limiting yourself to the middle range?

Hi, i think you're supposed to open when you feel like it's the right spot to open on if that makes sense. The best istikhara i've ever done was the 2rakah prayer at night and making the duaa at the end of the prayer. When i slept i had a dream and it was so clear subhanallah. So i'd suggest doing that instead.

This Quran flipping Istikharah has no reliable basis in the teachings of Allah, and his Prophet/Family to the best of my knowledge.

Quran flipping is utterly insulting and an abuse of the Book of Allah.

And you're basically randomly flipping pages and playing with fire.

Brother, your reply was insulting. If you do Istikharah then you are literally flipping pages because you don't believe in it, so you should refrain from it absolutely.

Please read the book about Istikhara very slowly and thoughtfully. You will find that Istikhara was recommended by and taught by the Ahlul Bait AS.
