There is a position at music based company which I was contacted about, i.e. As a Quality Assurance Engineer within the software engineering side of things, but of course the company itself is involved in the Music industry - does this constitute as a haraam job?

It would be the best to check with your marja. 

In case of working for a bank, the ruling is that if your work itself doesn't involve dealing with interest, then it is permissible. Don't know if the same applies in this case too.

Yo !!!!! Would that be working for a particular record label? if so, I would say depends on the label. What artists does the label put out....Research them, maybe listen to a couple of songs and see what is the underlying message in them then decide if that's something you want to be part of.

Check out a label called Awakening Records who deal with Muslim artists, maybe you can apply for the same role in their company? Either way good luck man

 yeh i gotta agree with this point 

also i guess it depends

if the label is putting out like haram as hell songs about horrific things then who knows? otherwise idk check wit scholars or experts

Just like working at banks, the music industry lies in a grey area of Islam. However, if your job is not directly into creating music then it might be allowed.

Don't accept the job offer if your heart is not comfortable with it. Allah is the greatest and he will send more opportunities for you. You can also recite the dua for Rizq to invoke Allah's blessings.
