What are some reliable side hustles that you’ve started that ended up being actually profitable? Also, are they good enough for you to be able to quit your job?

I have tried door dash. It was good money but not good enough to quit day job. If you are a man, you can work on nights, that's when pay is high. I know someone who does the business of vending machines. Driving for Uber is also a good option for men. It's very easy to start driving with door dash. I tried insta cart and others but they never have openings.

I used to do tutoring alongside my professional job before but didn't continue. It's a good way to earn some side cash especially if you do it privately and charge a lot.

How did you get the clients for it?

Got my father's workshop behind the house, i save a lot of money working on my own car. I recently changed the timing belt, waterpump, oil pan and other maintenance parts, with the help of my father.

Would've cost over a thousand dollars at an independent shop, so I consider it money well saved.

When my father is out traveling, he would send some of his customers to me to service their cars and whatnot, but that money goes to him, of course.

Get props and hire them for events.

I've seen&hired

proposal/engagement/wedding/birthday/baby shower/gender reveal etc props and setups get hired for 1 day event for over $1500 and you might be able to get them all from china for that price or even less and hire them numerous times (take bond also to ensure they dont get damaged while hired). I'd suggest starting out with one setup and list it on marketplace, insta and whatsapp groups and inshallah you'll get clients.

If you're good at photography you could even do photoshoots and videos for people on their special events. All you need is yourself and a decent camera get second hand from fb if you're broke. Also make your prices reasonable so people can hire you cause nowadays everyone wants to be boujee on a budget lol

Also i don't know if you're a he or a she or them/they or an it. But if you are she then you can offer beauty services from home, such as lashes, nails, hair treatments like keratin, nanoplasty, eyebrow lifts&tints etc

Or else you can always  become a sandwich artist as i stated above.

Goodluck

Funnily enough I was reading this research paper yesterday. It's sponsored by a UK energy supplier whose business model involves paying ordinary people to sign up customers.

Here's the report"

Take your existing hobbies and monetize them? For example, if you bake, sell baked goods; if you knit, sell knitted items; if you have expertise that others want, sell knowledge.

I've never really managed a profitable enough side hustle, but if it were necessary, I'm pretty sure I could.  I have run a home- based child care and I've contracted my expertise for small engineering projects. Both of these were my main source of income at the time, but either could also work as a side job.

In any event, if you can, it's best to do work you enjoy, especially if you're doing it at the expense of sleep.

Word of mouth and an online platform where I could market (one specific to my city). I targeted people within my city and did it in person. Tbh doing it virtually is a good idea and you can find way more clients this way. There's also plenty of sites like udemy where you can make courses and sell them online too. Or even use a platform like preply to become a virtual tutor and teach all kinds of people around the world.

Wedding photography is lucrative and flexible.

I'd recommend checking out websites that offer advice about this first.

It's lucrative because it's a special day for people, but by the same measure you can't afford to have things go wrong. So it becomes an exercise in risk management. An easy solution these days would be to have guests submit their best pics to a QR code that you've put on each dining table. Careful prep beforehand (e.g. where to take the best pictures) can pay off.

I'd say you would need DSLR(s) with different lenses and proper flash units, so there may well be an upfront investment needed! But secondhand kit can be (relatively) inexpensive, especially now that Canon have moved to a completely new system.

I use a Canon 5d Mk2, which is getting pretty old now, but it takes all the L series lenses and second hand you can get it for a few humdred dollars.

I'm thinking of going into the religious field. Have you seen how much some of these dudes get??? Plus all the endorsements and brand deals on social media. I always knew religion was the biggest money maker. We all know this is true. So why not????? I can act the part

Don't! one doesn't enter the field to earn money. Biggest mistake you'll make.

I think that's a bit naive...However we cannot tell what is in a persons heart, but it is a lucrative business. I know personally people who are genuinely interested in the deen and have gone off to seminary to study more and are great individuals, but also on the flip side I know a few who have no life skills or crafts and weren't able to acquire any education, due to poor life choices and instead saw the easy route as going to the seminary to study for a few years in the hope they would start being booked to give lectures. It happens bro...Nowadays thanks to the advent of social media, anybody can record a 1 minute reel in their room and put it out there & get famous. Todays currency is online status . Many Many opportunities :D . It's all a game unfortunately

Barber/ cutting hair. It's not too hard to do (unless you are doing a more complicated style), men need it often, cheap startup, and decent pay per head once they start to trust you.

I concur. My brother in law used to work at the same wind turbine factory I work at, left and got himself a barbershop. Obviously after getting some training and giving me and his friends "experimental" haircuts for a while. Though the fade is harder to get just right and that's the trim most popular for the shabab

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his progeny) said: "The jurists are the trustees of the Prophet until they have not entered into worldly worship." It was asked, O Messenger of Allah! What is the meaning of their entry into the world? The Prophet said: "They walk in search of power and strong people! So if they do this, beware of them".[3] And "Whoever seeks knowledge for Allah's pleasure, every chapter of knowledge that is opened to him, his humiliation before himself, his humility before people, his fear before Allah and his efforts in religious matters increases. Such a person benefits from his knowledge, so you should also benefit from his knowledge.

A person who seeks to acquire knowledge for the sake of the world and to gain a position in front of people and rulers, every chapter of knowledge that is opened to him, his self-conceit, his arrogance in front of people, his pride in front of Allah and his oppression in behalf of religion will increase. Such a person does not benefit from his knowledge".[4]

Imam Ali ((عليه السلام).) says: "If those who carry the burden of knowledge carry it as it deserves, Allah and the angels and Allah's obedient servants will all love them, but [unfortunately] they have made knowledge the means of the world, and Allah has made wrath on them, also they are despicable in  the eyes of the people".[8]

135. Gems about knowledge:

 Knowledge is of two kinds: one that is absorbed, and one that is not. The latter will not benefit unless absorbed

 Knowledge is better than wealth. Knowledge guards you, while you have to guard wealth.

 Wealth decreases by spending, while knowledge multiplies by spending.

 With knowledge, one commands obedience, and after death leaves a good name.

 Knowledge is ruler, while wealth is ruled upon.

 Knowledge calls for action, otherwise it departs.
