Question, does stopping in the middle of a sin still count as a sin?

Hi everyone!

For example if someone starts to sin, then remembers its wrong and fears the punishment of allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and stops the sin, will he be punished? Will he/she have to make tauba? Or not since he/she didn't complete the sin.

salaam.

if you tried as much as possible to learn Islamic laws but you still  didn't know it was a sin(or you forgot it's a sin at the time) it's not haram so it doesn't need tauba . of course you need to stop it from now on. also if you hurt someone or ..... you need to compensate but it doesn't mean that what have you done was a sin.

but if you could learn islamic laws and you didn't try enough to learn them you sinned and have to make tauba.
