William Lane Craig has devoted the last few years to exclusive research about the historic Adam. He has dug deep and also relied on scientists such a Swamidas who is a geneticist and proposes it is possible for two people to have originated the human race. He also looks at what a human is, how neanderthals fit in given there has been interbreeding. 

The body of work he has done here would be of immense benefit to the Muslim community, particularly with regards to how we should move forward with this dilema.
