The site is not very active, in large part due to the younger generation using platforms like discord, twitter, tiktok and reddit, which have the largest religious communities online. I think opening handles and forming communities in these places will bring in new members and potentially even bring in funds to make the site better.

Salam. In the past, a few ShiaChat members have linked to a Discord that they belonged to and asked others to join them. However, ShiaChat no longer allows that. We have had many reports of inappropriate behavior in the Discords, including people buying things and paying for them and not receiving the items promised. Also, there might be inappropriate language used by the Discord members while that is against the rules here.

Some new ShiaChat members often posted their link to Discord and never even participated here at ShiaChat. We had no evidence that they were Shia or Muslim, they just wanted to advertise their site and gather our members.

Sorry, but ShiaChat is not interested in having its own Discord. If the Site Admins are able to launch a new chat room, the members will be able to chat again, InShaAllah.

What I meant was, shiachat admins should open up their own official discord and other social media accounts. It'll help in preserving and expanding this community which I assume must be one of the oldest shia communities online.

I think this is necessary too just because of all the points you mentioned. We need professionally run communities that follow islamic standards on other platforms because that's what youth these days use and get exposed to all sorts of bad things on them.
