'Molana' Dhakku died. Those who were part of the Tabir wars lolz would know about him.

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'oon.

He had been keeping unwell for a long time. We lost a treasure trove of knowledge and an asset to the community.

May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) elevate his ranks in the hereafter.

He was running like a scared chicken :hahaha:

This is also getting coverage from Sunnis. What they don't comment on is the picture he is burning alongside the Qur'an.

And Muslims like Paul think that God conveyed rulings as minute as those about eating, sleeping and bedroom etiquettes through His Prophet (S), but left the nascent Muslim community (most of whom were idolaters until barely a year ago) leaderless after the death of His Prophet, and to fend for themselves in the face of internal and external enemies.

I don't see how this is very far removed from the secularist logic.

Florida school singles out Black pupils as ‘problem’ group for talk on test scores

Quote

Parents also said their [African American] children were reportedly told [by teachers] that if they did not do well in school they would end up dead or in jail.

To be fair, Asian parents also say this to their kids, as a means of motivating them.

I am wasting so much time in fighting. I don't talk to anyone at work or from community. It's just that when people say mean things, I cannot think of an answer right away and then I feel like I am a loser. It ruins my mood and I am not able to do anything productive. But my coworkers and community members want to do amar bil maroof and nahi anil munkir, so they are always saying mean things to me. Since I don't listen to them, and I listen to religious scholars, now the religious scholars say all the mean things my family, community even my coworkers want to say to me. I don't have to click on video and listen to what they have to say but from 2019 to 2021, I spent listening to people yelling at me, now I just want revenge. So I spend my weekends and evenings listening to all the lectures from all centers and answering any attacks. I cannot control my urge to answer them. I used to think that once I live separate from my sister and I don't have to see her anymore, I will stop caring and I will focus on my own life. But it's not happening. When I listen to attacks, I only want revenge and I want to attack them back.

I see a growing need for scholars to address topics concerning mental health. It is sad to see how many people who are actually silently struggling and have this dilemma and want to know how Islam can help them.

Just like what sister starlight said brother, they must see a therapist. Sadly we still live in a century where people who needs help mentally are shamed.

Florida is a terrible, backwards place.  I grew up in rural Appalachia and Florida is far worse by every measure.

I find it dumb that they're shamed for this, yet little do they know going to therapy is a form of rizq and blessing from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) that He provides us with these tools in the first place. But small minded people won't agree, especially those who think that mental illnesses are a made up thing.

Islam can definitely help with some forms of mental illness, but that doesn't mean one should disregard therapy. Most of us require therapy for unprocessed trauma.

Exactly, when someone is mentally ill they just tell them to pray and fast. I know praying and fasting benefits us a lot but sometimes we need help just like when you are sick and need a help from Dr, I don’t know why people always shame specially here in Middle East. Sadly many people can’t afford the cost as well.

I’ve heard a few scholars suggesting people to look for Muslim experts of various therapies, also I’ve never heard a Shia scholar directing people to wrong solutions. If any of you have, kindly suggest the name of such a scholar otherwise don’t eat the flesh (gheeba) of a whole bunch of scholars by accusing them of what they don’t suggest.

For mental illnesses Islam does help, just like Islam helps a cancer patient or a patient with a back or knee pain, which is to go see a doctor for that area. In addition Islam suggests Dua’, living an islamic organic life, changing to islamic consumption habits of tummy, eyes, ears, and company.

If you are able to read this before you leave brother, please pray for me while you are at the shrines. Especially at the dhareeh of Imam al-Hussain (عليه السلام). I am presently going through difficult times and need his intercession.

Extremely sorry to burden you with this request.

May you have a successful and blessed ziyarah.

Salam.

Duas your way.

Islam can't. They should see a therapist

I don't agree with this 'fixed' approach of categorizing considering how much of an overlap there could be. Even within psychology there are beliefs that stem from a godless worldview and these could be destructive to someone wanting to improve their lives. Despite therapists being trained in their profession, caution should always be exercised with regards to a therapist who does not hold monotheistic values.

I do admit that some issues that may have more of medical basis (brain chemistry etc.), modern psychiatry can be helpful and that could be someone's solution.

Also keep in mind that some mental health issues could stem from the way society functions, family-structure, materialistic values, sins etc. environment also plays a role for the onset of neurological disorders/mental health issues.

Told the kids that various tasks for which we employed sub-contractors can now be done in-house with the use of AI. They were not too happy about the resulting unemployment.

My answer was that the sub-contractors will have to 'up-their-game', and offer more advanced outputs than they did before. Some services that were previously too expensive for us (costing several thousand dollars) - can now be done in-house in minutes.

We're in the same boat. If we don't embrace the tech, the competitors will, and then the organisation is bust.

Surprisingly, I am finding it more challenging than I thought to have colleagues adopt AI into their workflows. I can anticipate doing the work of a few people all by myself. The potential productivity gains are mind-boggling.

Every day, I discover new applications. Life is rather exciting right now.

I can foresee a lot of winners and losers resulting from AI, depending on who is willing to adopt the tech and who is not. I came across an interesting factoid recently. Sears shut down their famous catalogue the year before Amazon started up.

I agree in principle but psychologists train hard to do what they do.
