“Ahmad ibn Hanbal” quotes from “Shu’bah ibn Hajjaj” that I’ve heard narratives from “Abd ar-Rahman ibn abi Layla” that if I say them to you, swear to god all of you will dance and I’ll never quote them for you.

If scholars didn’t betray and quoted all sayings of commander of the faithful Ali [(عليه السلام)], all people would have become Shia!!

Then “Ahmad ibn Hanbal” says that “Mahmoud ibn Ghaylan” has quoted for me that “Shu’bah” has said that if I quote those narratives, all of you will become Shia. “Abu abd ar-Rahman” {Ahmad ibn Hanbal} has said: this phrase is more correct:

“Ahmad ibn Hanbal” – al-ilal wa Ma’rifat al-Rijal – vol. 3, p 354

“Shams al-Din Dhahabi” says about “Shu’bah ibn al-Hajjaj”:

“Shu’bah ibn Hajjaj” was proof, hadith retentive {he knew more than thirty thousand narratives by heart} and Sheikh al-Islam.  “Thuri” has said that he was “Commander of the faithful” in hadith science. “Shafi’i” has said: if it weren’t for “Shu’bah”, no one would know hadith in “Iraq”. “Abu-Bakr Bakrawi” has said that he’s not seen someone who worships god as much as “Shu’bah”!!!...
