Wa Aleikum Salaam,

This is why I will not anymore watch these channels or Grayzone. I don't tolerate these people who laugh to our religion or sometimes literally mock God.

In Grayzone they were literally laughing to Shia beliefs about haram to listening music or describing Atheists as being cattle that is directly from Qur'an:

And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless. 7:179

Here Mehdi answers why he works for MSM https://youtu.be/9zBAXKYdcus?t=2415

With respect don't put down this speaker without being sure that he is doing taqiyyah. Do you think he should have continued being a zakir on the minbar and only spoken to the same old audience? Now at least he can speak to a huge audience. How is he going to do that if he calls the kuffar animals? He will get sacked.

He has defended Islam

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy9tNyp03M0

He has defended Palestinians. No one from MSM does that!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1VTt_THL4A

And I am sure he still hates Yazid. Don't accuse even a fasiq of not hating Yazid unless you have evidence. It's a big crime.

BTW Jimmy Dore is a religion hating Atheist and he is a huge sell out. Even that video is dishonest. He cuts up parts of the debate and merges them into a clip. The guy makes money preaching to right wingers and is too scared to criticize Trump.

Taqiyyah is part of Islam whether you like it or not. Don't call your great shia brother a sell out when you know nothing about his real views.

BTW the Grayzone  know nothing about Islam. They don't know if keeping dogs is allowed or not or if music is allowed. They are jahil but some things they said was dishonest and wrong. Still listen to them because we should take knowledge from everyone.

The problem is they tell more truth than other Muslims sometimes so I lend an ear to people like Jimmy Dore, Grayzone, Abby Martin, Madea Benjamin etc but yes you are right, they do hate Islam and it's just a matter of time before the hatred comes tumbling out of their mouths. Mixing truth and falsehood. It is better to steer clear of these types or take everything with multiple grains of salt bc when push comes shove, they will likely be on the side fighting against Allah and his Prophet (saww).

There is a difference between Dore and the rest on your list. The others are speaking their minds, Dore is a sell out to the right. He was anti Trump/right and now is too scared to say a bad word about them because they make him money from views.

Shame on dore! shame!

I don’t know the man but I believe his views are very much still Shi’a Islamic. As Dilly (journalist) says in the video below, you cannot make it into mainstream media without compromising on your conservative beliefs.

The video in the link is about claiming he has a political bias about a story about recent US politics.

Why are you introducing the clip as if it has something to do with his views on religious issues?

Let’s say this other guy’s take is correct, and Mahdi Hassan is a bad journalist. Ok. So since when does being a bad journalist automatically make you a bad Muslim?

It seems like you’re trying to turn agreement with your personal political orientations into a litmus test for “Shia-ness.”

Which is bizarro.

Ah. I see your angle now. Buried in the middle of the piece in passing. Looks like really what this is about is you’re miffed at Mehdi Hassan because he is not fond of Assad.

This is why it is dangerous to mix politics and religion so closely under the banner of a particular country in a tribalistic manner.

It becomes taboo at a religious level to point out the objective awfulness of a political leader of a country (Assad in Syria) because you’ve placed a country (Iran) and its government on a pedestal and that government is a military ally of the other country.

Assad being better in some respects than his wartime opponents does not make him any less of a taghut. He is a taghut and the vast majority of his small list of allies are also taghuts.

This guy (Mehdi Hasan) has gone from bad to worse...It was bad enough when he became a mouthpiece for Qatar (Al Jazeera)…now he's an MSNBC presenter?…his conscience is up for sale to the highest bidder...it's open season on free speech, truth-telling and whistle blowing...Western politicians and news anchors are ruthlessly persecuting and demonizing people like Julian Assange, Matt Taibbi and Edward Snowden...soon NATO countries will have more censorship than North Korea, China and former USSR combined...America is looking at China as the model to mimic and follow

Ali ibn Yaqteen. Look him up.

It's not just to save your life.

BTW Taibi quit Twitter for censorship. What a slap in the face.

Hassan has nothing against Snowden and Assange. Dont compare them to Taibi.

And I already showed you evidence that Hassan does not agree with MSNBC. He said ti himself.

People like Medea Benjamin, Roger Waters, Jesse Ventura, Ralph Nader, Abby Martin, Jimmy Dore, Richard Medhurst, George Galloway, Max Blumenthal, Paul Findley etc. might be secularists but you can reason with them and they are willing to listen...alliances can be formed based on mutual respect...they are people of conscience and people of integrity...so you believe building bridges with mainstream liberal politicians and news correspondents (i.e. Wolf Blitzer, Bernard Shaw, Don Lemon, Nancy Pelosi etc.) is totally halal but attempting to reach out to rebels who attempt to expose their own party's diabolical policies is somehow haram? What type of reasoning or ijtihad is this? Dore is simply exposing the hypocrisy of the democratic party and trying to build bridges with moderate right-wingers...he has come to realize that Trump is a corrupt business man but he's not a Washington DC insider...the career politicians who are attempting to blacklist him consider him a loose canon and a wildcard because he doesn't play ball 100%...85% yes but not 100%

Yeah, taqiyyah is meant for increasing your net worth to $6 million...according to your logic Mu'awiyah should be commended for using "taqiyyah" on Imam Hasan (peace be upon him)…he (Mu'awiyah) used cunning tactics and political maneuvering and Imam Hasan signed the peace treaty...basically he (Mu'awiyah) swindled his way to the top and his behavior is theologically justifiable according to you.

Eddie before we talk about Hasan can you please stop praising Jimmy Dore. He is a big big sell out. See how he changed his videos to appease the the right wing loons. He makes millions himself on his channel.

He openly hates religion. He is openly pro LGBT open supports abortion. Refuses to condemn Trump and the right loons.

How can you like him?

Dont put him on the same level as Abby martin and galloway. they are not sell out. they kept their beliefs the same and are not afraid to attack the right.

when we have a common understanding about dore then we will discuss hasan.

Salam certainly cursed Mu'awiyah (la) has not used  "taqiyyah" on Imam Hasan (peace be upon him) because Imam Hasan (عليه السلام) knew that he will violate all conditions of peace treaty also cursed Mu'awiyah (la) has upper hand because whole of army of Imam Hasan (عليه السلام) except few ones have betrayed to him which cursed Mu'awiyah (la) has treated that he will kill all remaining Shias ,  therefore Imam Hasan (عليه السلام) has done Taqiyyah on cursed Muawiah (la) for saving life of few remaining Shias.

Muawiyah lied because he wanted to kill people and get power. Ali Ibn Yaqteen did taqiyah. He had a top minister of banu Abbas. He lived like a rich minister. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_ibn_Yaqteen

Why dont you accuse this top sahabi of the Imam as of wanting money? He was rich.

@Ashvazdanghe why dont you answer for eddie? Ali ibn Yaqteen is rich and worked for Banu Abbas yet when Mehdi Hasan talks against Israel on MSNBC you dont give him credit? AND you support that loser sell out Jimmy Dore!!

Look Sam Seder praises Mehdi for being one of the main stream media to condemn Israel:

Seder sees the truth. Mehdi on prime time condemnded Israel. Jimmy Dore doesn't do it even on his corner of youtube.

https://youtu.be/egIIhO_vbhw?t=1403

You see in this video Hasan condemns Biden too.

You are refuted Eddie. Refuted I say. Mehdi has a big audience and that's why he made the right move. Instead of having a small corner on the youtube he has a big audience to speak the truth.

Mehdi Hasan on the BBC calling the Daily Mail "immigrant-bashing, woman-hating, Muslim-smearing, NHS-undermining, gaybaiting Daily Mail" while he simultaneously writes them a letter at roughly the same time-period saying. Dore says lots of good things but what he doesnt say is what exposes him. He never ever ever dares say bad things about his right wing base.

Let me be very clear and very honest on this topic.

As I do listen to Dore, his opponents, Grayzone, Abby, Galloway etc. I had a look into the Twitter files as well and lastly I started up being really fond of Mehdi 5-6 years back but I digged a lot and easily found his views to be pathetic.

He has no political understanding. He is a pure careerist sellout. He compares Iran's defence of middle least with the US occupation of the same region.

Now, here people are saying that he is in taqiyya. My friend please. Taqiyya in the digital era doesn't make sense. Era of Banu Abbas was different. They were ruthless dictators who could not even tolerate the smell of a shia of Ali near them. So, Ali bin Yaqteen had quite less sources to actually take a stand against the Abbasids. While Mehdi was earlier in Al Jazeera (fair enough) but now he ran further into MSNBC. I beg for an answer. Wasn't Aljazeera enough for him to get a huge audience that now he has literally gone for something purely Yazeedi? What good is he doing there? Talking about Palestine isn't all. Even Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and others sitting in the congress have the guts to speak for Palestine. This is in fact an evil strategy of the taghut. They create a fancy, fake opposition of their policies to keep the truth seekers in hope that 'a change might come'.

Talking about the leftist side:

Look they are all against Islam. They have a different worldview and they speak for that. But they and Muslims have a common enemy right now and this is what aligns are opinions.

Mehdi is not contributing to anything in West or east or anywhere for Islam. He consistently attacks Iran, consistently opposes Iran's interference in Syria and Iraq (almost opposes Qasim Suleimani). He doesn't talk anything rational or remotely good about hezbullah. He is not among us. Talking from pulpit against Yazid doesn't makes you a good Muslim. Even Biden praised Imam Husain on Twitter. The real jihad is to take some stand or steps against 'Yazid of the time'.

Not to forget, he got in argument with Sayyed Muhammed Marandi on twitter. A man who was in Iran-Iraq war himself and was attacked by chemical weapons by Saddam's army. But no respect and no genuine consideration from Mehdi's side for such a warrior. Taqiyya doesn't obligates you to fight with your own Muslim brother (that too a mujahid). Make fun of him and attempt to humilate him.

Finally someone who actually replied on Ali Ibne Yaqtin. Kudos my friend.

Ibne yaqtin worked for Abbasids when he didn't have to. he could have stayed a normal person. Imam Jaffar Sadiq as told him to work with abbasids and pretend to be sunni.

Mahdi hasan would not get to speak about Palestine and others direct to americans if  he work with al jazeera only. no point preaching to the choir. if he could work on fox news it would be even better.

Fair enough he is wrong about iran. shame on mehdi hasan on speaking like that about marandi. he should keep his mouth shut.

Jazakallah brother for your response.

This reminds me about one more angle that I forgot to mention. You see that ibn Yaqteen had a fatwa from Imam As Sadiq (عليه السلام) to be in taqiyya and their are many such examples in Islamic history.

What does Mehdi Hasan holds? Does he carry any verdict from a marja'?

One more point, if Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) commanded his companion to go in Taqiyya, you cannot say that their was no point in it. But Mehdi (even if I apply your logic) is just going by his own whim. Trying to tell the Americans about Palestine. What has Americans to do with Palestine? Isn't grayzone then doing much better job? They almost daily speak of Palestine, Syria and Iraq.

I can at maximum hold back from defaming him if their is even a small chance that he is doing Taqiyya on the order of a marja' or the Wali e Faqih.

Mehdi Hasan removed from anchor chair:

Quote

MSNBC has quietly taken three of its Muslim broadcasters out of the anchor’s chair since Hamas’s attack on Israel last Saturday amid America’s wave of sympathy for Israeli terror victims.

The network did not air a scheduled Thursday night episode of The Mehdi Hasan Show on the streaming platform Peacock. MSNBC also reversed a plan for Ayman Mohyeldin to fill in this week on the network for host Joy Reid’s 7 p.m. show on Thursday and Friday. Mohyeldin, an Egyptian-American journalist and veteran NBC News correspondent covered the conflict from Gaza for two years. In 2021, he aggressively questioned Israeli leaders on strikes on the territory. Two network sources with knowledge of the plans told Semafor that the network also plans to have Alicia Menendez fill in this upcoming weekend for Ali Velshi, a third Muslim-American host who on Sunday interviewed a spokesman for the Palestinian Authority.

MSNBC suspends Muslim anchors amid Israeli war in Gaza

LONDON: Two sources have confirmed to Arab News that US news network MSNBC has suspended the shows of three Muslim anchors amid rising tensions in Gaza.

Earlier today, Semafor revealed that Mehdi Hasan, Ayman Mohieddine and Ali Velshi were “quietly taken out of the anchor’s chair since Hamas’ attack on Israel.”

According to Semafor, the left-leaning news network did not air a scheduled Thursday night episode of “The Mehdi Hasan Show,” and dropped a plan for Mohieddine to anchor Joy Reid’s show on Thursday and Friday. Sources also revealed that Velshi was being replaced by another anchor for his upcoming weekend shows.

MSNBC, however, “vehemently pushed back against any notion that either Hasan or Mohieddine were being sidelined in any way,” Semafor added.

But two Arab News sources directly involved with the decision within MSNBC have confirmed the suspension.

“There is a lot of unclarity over what happens next,” said one source. “But the mood is very similar to what had happened post 9/11 with the whole you are either with us or against us argument,” he added.

“Sadly, this has now gone beyond political views and is targeting anchors of a particular faith,” he said.

Arab News approached MSNBC but the network did not respond for comment by the time this story was published.

While Velshi is still reporting from the ground on other shows, what Arab News sources confirm is that the shows have been suspended and the future of the three anchors at the network is unclear.

I am reluctant to speak against the faith of a fellow Shia, this seems more along the lines of the takfeeri salafis, I don't want to ever be included In that liver and heart eating group.

Mahdi Hassan comes from a well known and respected London based Shia family with roots to Hyderabad India. I am well acquainted with one of his first cousins. Who remember him as a very sharp and extremely intelligent,  this is comes from his peer and well aware of his academic record.

He is on of the very few Shia commentators to reach this level.

He has made a name for himself as being anti Israeli....this comes from the Jewish media themselves...see the media hit piece at done on him recently as being anti Israeli and led to his being sidelined.

Now I don't support his modern liberal Western Civilization type views on LGBT and other anti Islamic positions,  but I  can accept he makes mistakes, as do we All. People in glass houses should not throw stones. we are allowed to criticize his views and say he is wrong and even has sold out,  but if ....if that is not the case in his heart or his niyyah...then the accuser must face the punishment of slandering his Shia brother in Islam.

Not everyone has the power of  Hasan  Nasrullah,  or Qasim Soliemani....but there is a chance he could change and remain a power for good. There is strong likelihood that once he achieves a higher status in Media limelight he can be more open about his views.

We all remember how he embarrassed and shamed and made an Israeli Minister admit to collective punishment and human rights abuses and embarrassed him on  the nuclear ambiguity issue.

Before we are so quick to tear others down we should first examine our own hearts and motives and then always give a Shia the benefit of the doubt. Also avoid the illegitimate slander, lest the punishment for that slander reverbates on us.

I can tell you some of us on SC know him personally and he is not a sell out or any of that sort.

In his position you have to agree to some jibbrish، دروغ، بکواس، اشغال، قمامہ، nonsense, هراءً etc. in order to keep your talking heads off balance, and get them speak the version of truth that they otherwise would never agree to, and then leave it to the audience to discern the real truth from many versions of it.

Many here don’t fully appreciate the nuances of media (unfortunately no major media house is run by Muslims and Islamic rules of lies, truths, verification, and Gheeba), and won’t comprehend the amount of balancing act any ethical news analysts has to do to keep his presence onscreen.

A simple example would be if you are in debate with polytheists, you don’t come out and say touching your idol would make me najis, and this elephant doll can’t be anybody’s god and what not. For a deeper example read the ayaat related to Prophet Ibraheem AS encounters with the idol factory and his discourse in finding God in moon and starts etc. Some simple minded black and white thinking brothers would claim looklook Ibraheem AS calling that thing god without listening to Imam Ibraheem AS’ debate constructs in Quran -:)

I had a good feeling he was just doing Taqqiyah
