Given the nature of how the Future is going, most if not all of the jobs within the job market, especially when it comes to the Music Industry would be replaced by AI for the sake of the Companies' or Corporations' Financial Interests.

This is not looking promising for Humanity. I wonder if these are major signs fulfilling a certain prophecy. Will Humanity thrive during the post-AI era?

Not sure why, for observant Muslims, the destruction of the music industry would be anything to complain about.

Well I only used that as an example since that industry is currently what is being affected. Disrespect is surely had if say an AI audio sample of Michael Jackson is done for his music and the company starts creating Michael Jackson music, which by this point that man's already dead, would belittle all the hard work the musicians and artists poured their souls over throughout their careers as a whole.

I'm sure there are other industries in the near future such as maybe construction, medical, accounting, journalism etc that would all be affected by this change in how the AI is evolving over time.

So much so that AI can develop DeepFakes of fake news along with making AI audio sampled voices of US Presidents playing video games which is what is happening on YouTube. I don't know for the latter if I should find it hilarious or frightening.

Salaams hope your well.

I don’t know allot about  A.I and from what I feel and have watched and read it really is at its roots a satanic attack on mankind.

The jinn’s that live inside the A.I is how it works .This is the coming of the jinn world to take over mankind. (They will fail)

Yes there are other reasons like you said about corporations  wanting to save money and even more dangerous cloning and mimicking singers as a example. Also for those who say its a good thing for Muslims, They will simply carry it on with more music.

And yes creative industries as well possibly other industries may well get changed and where does this leave people.

Well we need to remember one thing and its been echoed through all religions:

What vibrations we choose to live in.

The dark forces want us to live in fear and worry (survival cycles and limitations)

A soulless existence if you will. But God is with us so they will never fully

One person's comment from a channel.

“Your mental and emotional energy changes the course of the future, which is why they want everyone resonating in fear so that they can retain control. When you awaken to your true consciousness, radiating in confidence and love, free from judgment and fear, you change the energy of those around you, affecting the vibrational field of the planet. You awake, is their greatest fear.”

This really is true.

I am sure we have all felt this when our faith is strong and we are infused with a sense of inspiration and wonder and what a beautiful feeling it is to have within us and to share with others.

I also think that with A.I its to overwhelm us and so we disconnect from our divine essence.

This is what the brain chips are about they want us to have them, its so the jinns can control our minds.

We must also remember the people who program the A.I programs are only people and depends what their intentions are.

Everything is based on intention, if they are devoid of love and immersed in lower vibration well that too goes into the program in just the same way when we create our own projects.

Let’s remember the story of Solomon's (عليه السلام) encounters with Queen Sheeba and the palace.

And the many amazing miracles of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the Ahlul Bayt (عليه السلام)

This goes to show us the vast potential of the human spirit which has barely been touched yet..

We know when Imam Zaman (عليه السلام) arrives he will bring divine justice and the remaining letters of knowledge and science and technology will be on another level.

Quiet exciting times.

You know what this all really is? Its to stop humanity from connecting, everything from phones, to online gaming to driver less cars and self automated tills stops people from connecting we were created to connect to one another and what is created by the Supreme God  (The Lord of Majesty and generosity, Lord of Glory and Honour)

The people who are attempting to create their one world system know the potential of the human spirit and are desperate to keep it under control.

This is a challenging time and for those who go technology slave driven into that world without their Lord, they will be mind controlled soulless zombies connected to the A.I world of jinns.

What we create with our intentions is the most important thing because its from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).

A.I does not have that but we do.

Whatever wonderful and creative projects we desire to build we can and they will have God’s blessings because our intentions are from our souls and our souls are from the All Knowing and the All Knowing is infinitely more powerful than A.I.

So whatever we create is from connection to Allah and it is real..and what is real will have the vibration of truth and shine the highest light of good.

I am not anti-technology but I believe we need to have a balance.

Let’s take in what God is inspiring us with in terms of visionary ideas and the world of thoughts that are from His Kingdom.

I feel this is a time where we  call on Allah and ask His help through these times.

He is the All Guiding.

I was thinking about the children who are growing up now and we need to build a  world where they have the love of God in them and teach them compassion for all people, as well nurturing them with empathy and the skills they need to thrive and grow.

Insha Allah.

This is a time for us to work together in our communities and allow The Most High to guide us with true potential.

You into creative arts?

Salaam, sorry to come at this all negative and doubtful, but this just sounds like new age, western positive thinking pseudo spirituality which isnt based in reality.

We should try our best to have a balanced view and attitude towards life and have faith and trust in Allahs(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) plan for our individual as well as collective lives, however, i just can't buy into this "oh we are so powerful if only we realize our true potential" in the sense that we can make this dunya "right"...the Quran says we are going to be tried with fear. To be tried with fear, you have to experience it-not ignore/push away/pretend it doesnt exist, etc.

Being "awake" (starting to hate that word these days...) means to be aware of things, it doesnt mean we turn into some hippies and sing 60s songs about peace and love and being positive and sit and meditate life away.

The reality of this world is and always has been one of trial, pain, suffering, loss, regret, sin, hardship etc. I dont know about you all, but when im going through the things i just mentioned, its not about vibrating at a higher frequency and radiating love-its about experiencing the pain of being human and acknowledging that experience.

Of course, there are good things to make living here tolerable, otherwise everyone would probably commit suicide, so i dont want to negate the positive side of things, however, I want to stay realistic about the fact that this world is one of opposites/contradictions. Its what makes it a place of trial and this isnt going to change no matter how hard i or anyone else wishes it away by colorful and wistful efforts or ideas.

And judging is absolutely necessary. If some random nasty immoral looking dude approaches for your daughters hand in marriage, theres gonna be a bit of judging going on...everything we do in life requires some form of judging. Im not talking about condemning. The 2 are not the same.

Even if i wanted to believe in the ideas in what i quoted above, ive never seen a realistic approach that produced a real outcome. I mean, ive known peole who were just born with this kind of "positive disposition", but i havent seen anything inherently different in their lives, in what they've experienced or in how theyve benefitted others in a vastly meaningful way.

I am in complete agreement with the powers that be wanting us to be mired in fear etc cuz that IS a major contributing factor in their control of the masses, however, to think that by the general population swinging the pendulum to the complete opposite side of things is going to help, i can't buy into that.

Maybe its just me, but i know im not the only one, so in that case, its not a universal principal that can be applied to everyone everywhere at every time. Of it was, the Quran would've spoke of it and it wouldnt be a passing thing-it would be highly emphasized upon.

Salaam, sorry to come at this all negative and doubtful, but this just sounds like new age, western positive thinking pseudo spirituality which isnt based in reality.

Ws thank you for your thoughts always good to hear people’s views.

Its ok everyone is entitled to their thoughts and beliefs its what makes the world what it is today.

With regards to the new age yes there are some who will promote that kind of thinking positive thinking and pseudo psychology, but I am not talking about that. Where they want to just think positive and ignore all the issues and things will get worse that way.

You have those who will have a positive attitude and do something about what’s going on in the world. That is what I resonate with. My own experiences (I can’t speak for everyone)

Actually seeing the challenges we are facing is a good thing so we can do more about them.

I agree having a balanced view is about life and faith can only be a good thing.

With what Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) say’s about being tried and with fear yes of course and its also a way for us to transition through those fears and tests and become stronger and develop our souls.

Its not so much about pushing the fear away-you go through your fears, you embrace them and that is true progress.

The word awake has been getting used allot like other words. Its really about what we are experiencing and how we want to connect that to our own lives.

The trusting in Allah goes without saying.

Yes we are actually very powerful by the Grace of God and its for people to truly realize that potential with God on your side its achievable.  I understand you meant it making the Dunya right.

That is what I mean with faith In God yes we support God and God will support  us and we will have all the potential do that.

"means to be aware of things, it doesnt mean we turn into some hippies and sing 60s songs about peace and love and being positive and sit and meditate life away."

I agree its not about doing those things, its about being active in our own lives and the collective.

"The reality of this world is and always has been one of trial, pain, suffering, loss, regret, sin, hardship etc."

Yes I’m with you here it is a world of hardships. This is a good world but also a hard world.

The realities of that we experience but having the gratitude and hoping for the best and expecting the best despite that does make a difference.

I’m with you on feeling the pain, of course when we are going though our challenges it is not easy and you can’t just magically say everything is great and I feel wonderful but from my own experiences yes I will go though these and do my best as I’m sure you would too.

The pain of growth is what makes us too.  I practice gratitude too which helps  whilst going through those challenges.

"And judging is absolutely necessary. If some random nasty immoral looking dude approaches for your daughters hand in marriage, theres gonna be a bit of judging going on...everything we do in life requires some form of judging. Im not talking about condemning. The 2 are not the same."

Yes agreed.  We need a healthy amount of judging to make our decisions.

"I am in complete agreement with the powers that be wanting us to be mired in fear etc cuz that IS a major contributing factor in their control of the masses, however, to think that by the general population swinging the pendulum to the complete opposite side of things is going to help, i can't buy into that."

We may  see an improvement in society Insha Allah and it’s a good start to the path of hope.  Of course that won’t be the only thing that will bring change the more we check our souls and also work towards clearing out the evils in society.

For me its not about wishing it away personally , its about confronting what’s in front of us just like we confront the challenges and test we have to go through in our lives.

I am still reading through the Quran so let’s see what comes through.

For me its helped so I can’t say for everyone else but I have found changing my thought patterns and feeling my emotions and how I react to situations is better.

It was nice talking to you.

Hope your having a blessed Ramadan.

Technological advances are going to happen.  We have to adapt.

AI is neither good nor evil.  It's just a tool and can be used for good or for evil by humans. Given that technology happens, it seems it might be more productive to work on improving our societies rather than trying to resist technological progress.

^^^Awesome point made there...underlings aren't allowed a broader discussion...rather dictates by the elites are directed in a downward manner and the matter is considered closed...no wider explorations are tolerated...freedom to question by concerned and dissenting voices (supposed hallmarks of a vivid democracy) are stifled...CERN can theoretically create small black holes...how large can these black holes become? could these black holes potentially envelope the earth, the solar system etc.?...the answers to these queries are conveniently provided by the space exploration agencies / scientific organizations themselves...a discussion on a global scale should performed before such an initiative is undertook...everyone in the world is concerned / involved when these experiments are performed...the result of such an experiment could be dire (understatement)…same can be said of the advent of nuclear energy or nuclear weaponry...Robert Oppenheimer had considered the "terrible possibility" that the atmosphere might be set afire upon detonation of the first nuclear bomb...his fears were supposedly put to rest by "multiple scientists" who carried out "calculations" and determined the likelihood "incredibly impossible"...the point remains...were the inhabitants of Mother Earth consulted beforehand?...nope...decisions are being made by shadowy men in dark suits behind closed doors and our opinions are being manipulated...echo chambers are made to surround and guard the lobbying groups and corporations...system of checks and balances by objective outside agencies are desperately needed to curtail unbridled powers...like the  lemmings, humanity proudly marches off the cliff to its own demise...HURRAH!!!

Sure.  But if we don't move with technology, others will and we will be left behind.  That's why it seems better to me to build guided and productive social systems within technological boundaries rather than resisting.

Perhaps an analogy can be drawn with gene editing technology?

Both are situations where the capability may exceed the ethical bandwidth.

But then there is the issue of what happens when someone does not stick to the rules. A digital Jurassic Park, if you will and the obvious Jeff Goldblum line, "just because you can does not mean that you should'.

Yes.  Thank you.

I love when more-eloquent-than-me people see my point and expand on it.

"What happens when..." is the question we need to proactively answer before it happens.

Worth noting

The criticisms (e.g. in the letter signed by Musk and others) are not accepted in their entirety:

Quote

Critics have accused the Future of Life Institute (FLI), which is primarily funded by the Musk Foundation, of prioritising imagined apocalyptic scenarios over more immediate concerns about AI – such as racist or sexist biases being programmed into the machines.

Yes yes, i remember a speech by Hamza Yusuf that was over 2 hours long on the subject of technology and its dangers/evils..

When i first reverted, i actually saw him give a live presentation at a local masjid on the subject.

(Strange, didnt he just attend the WEF meeting and discuss AI at it?? I pretty much question anyone who has anything to do with WEF so i was shocked to see he was there...im pretty sure theres a you tube video of his mini presentation at it)

Reader comment in the FT has some useful pointers about the risks

Quote

• Algorithmic bias: AI systems are trained on historical data, which may contain biases reflecting societal prejudices or inequalities. If not addressed, these biases can be perpetuated or even amplified by AI systems, leading to unfair and discriminatory outcomes in political processes, policymaking, and public services.

• Erosion of privacy: AI's ability to process and analyze massive amounts of data raises concerns about the erosion of individual privacy. Surveillance technologies powered by AI, such as facial recognition or social media monitoring, can be used by governments or other entities to monitor citizens' activities and suppress dissent, undermining democratic principles.

• Disinformation and manipulation: AI-generated content, such as deepfakes or tailored propaganda, can be used to spread disinformation and manipulate public opinion. These technologies can exacerbate existing divisions within societies, undermine trust in democratic institutions, and potentially influence election outcomes.

• Concentration of power: The development and deployment of AI technologies are often concentrated in the hands of a few large technology companies or powerful state actors. This concentration of power can lead to a lack of transparency and accountability, as well as potential misuse or abuse of AI for political purposes.

• Digital inequality: Unequal access to AI technologies and their benefits can exacerbate existing inequalities within societies. Those with access to advanced AI tools may have a disproportionate influence on political processes, while marginalized groups may be further excluded from political decision-making.

• Cybersecurity threats: AI can be used to develop more sophisticated cyberattacks, targeting critical infrastructure or political systems. These attacks can undermine the security and stability of democratic systems, leading to potential disruptions in electoral processes or other essential functions.

• Job displacement and economic disruption: AI-driven automation can lead to job displacement, particularly in industries that rely heavily on manual labor or repetitive tasks. This economic disruption may fuel social unrest and political instability, as affected individuals and communities struggle to adapt to the changing economic landscape.

• Ethical concerns: The use of AI in political processes raises various ethical questions, such as the extent to which AI should be involved in decision-making, the potential loss of human agency, and the implications for individual autonomy and democratic participation.

AI can be biased. Something written to inform people could even be misinformation. For example, culling information from different sources, but leaving out religious views. Or writing something and simply adding a few Islamic words here and there to make an unsuspecting reader think this must be from the Islamic view.

Parallels with digital photography - AI opens up lots of opportunities

If we go back to the advent of digital photography, I think there are some interesting parallels with what is happening today.

  1. Old tech was film-based photography, processed using water-based chemistry. The new tech was digital. Some of the principles were the same (e.g. what counts as good/bad exposure), but the technology was completely different. The transition between the two wiped out Kodak, and other film-makers and a whole industry dedicated to processing films and photos using chemicals.
  2. At the level of the individual, those people who had the skills to chemically process films/photos quickly found that some of those skills were redundant. Some of their existing skills would still be useful, but they had to master new skills very quickly.
  3. Their existing investments in film, paper and chemical-based tech quickly became worthless for both businesses and people.

But this is where things become interesting.

  1. For those people and businesses who were starting out in photography, the new digital tech gave them a chance to get into a new business/profession without the same handicap they would have had against incumbent players if the old tech was still going strong.
  2. People new to the industry could quickly become experts in e.g. Photoshop and compete against people with previous experience with wet photography.
  3. Financial investments by people new to the industry were similar to those who were already players.

AI has opened up opportunities for those who want to get into businesses such as graphics, copywriting or any other industries where the rules of the game have been upended by this new tech.
