Salam it's mostly a coincidental which usually people forget wrong predictions of such people by highlighting few wxamples which somehow matchs on their predictions which in story of Imam Ali (عليه السلام) & astronomer it has been mentioned that astrologer  has good intention but Imam Ali(عليه السلام) has shown his superiority in this knowledge to him but rejected advic of astrologer

When 1Amir al-mu’minin decided to set out for the battle with the Kharijites someone said, “If you set out at this moment then according to astrology I fear you will not be successful in your aim,” whereupon Amir al-mu’minin said:

Do you think you can tell the time when a man goes out and no evil befall him or can warn of the time at which if one goes out harm will accrue? Whoever testifies to this falsifies the Qur’an and becomes unmindful of Allah in achieving his desired objective and in warding off the undesirable. You cherish saying this so that he who acts on what you say should praise you rather than Allah because according to your misconception you have guided him about the hour in which he would secure benefit and avoid harm.

Then Amir al-mu’minin advanced towards the people and said:

O People! Beware of learning the science of stars except that with which guidance is sought on land or sea, because it leads to divining and an astrologer is a diviner, while the diviner is like the sorcerer, the sorcerer is like the unbeliever and the unbeliever would be in Hell. Get forward in the name of Allah.

‘Ali ((عليه السلام).) told him that if he thought he could predict the auspicious and the inauspicious times of departure with accuracy, he was in error and said,
“Whoever believes your prediction has denied the Qur’an.”
(Because according to Qur’an success and defeat all are subservient to Divine will).
If a person has faith in the astrologer he will not seek Divine help and assistance when the prediction is favourable for him. In this way he will not give Sadqa nor pray for success and will eventually conclude that Allah ((سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).) controls nothing; thus he would become a disbeliever.

Ameer al-Momineen Ali ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام) and his army had started out for the battle of Nahrawan against the Kharjites (Kharjite means one who rebels against religion), and having reached the city of Madain, they pitched their tents. The next morning, as they were about to commence their journey, an astrologer approached them and said: "My astrological calculations reveal that it is not in your interest to advance in this hour. Commence your journey after three hours and you shall be victorious."
Hearing this, Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام) said: "Whoever upholds your words has rejected the Noble Qur'an of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)."
Surely Allah is He with Whom is the knowledge of the hour, and He sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs; and no one knows what he shall earn on the morrow; and no one knows in what land he shall die; surely Allah is Knowing, Aware. Noble Qur'an (31:34)

When the place was dug up, the people witnessed that the scenario was exactly as it had been described by Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام).
Observing this, the astrologer was totally bewildered; Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام) took possession of his books, ordered them to be

destroyed and then said to him: "The next time you try to attract the people towards yourself by means of astrology; I shall put you behind bars."

The devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey and bordering regions has now taken well over 5,000 lives and injured over 24,000 more.

Whilst families struggle to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones and their homes, hospitals also struggle to cope with the enormous influx of casualties and urgently require resources.

 

As the disaster unfolded, The Zahra Trust's local field team mobilized to provide immediate support following a rapid needs assessment.

 

So far, we have provided:

 

• Food items for hundreds of displaced families
• Blankets for families left in the cold
• Medicines and medical equipment
• Medicine storage units for hospitals

Anyone who would want to argue such a thing, that differences in planet and star positions and such would have a significant impact within the earth has a responsibility to show concretely with math and proven physics how that would work. 

What is a known fact is that the other planets, particularly the big ones, especially Jupiter and to a smaller extent, Saturn, have a perturbing effect on the orbits of smaller planets. And that effect varies over the orbit of the smaller planet and of Jupiter, whether it’s farther away or closer. 

But that’s an effect on the entire earth’s overall direction of movement and speed. How that would affect different parts of the earth in different ways to affect tectonics seems pretty dubious. The width of the earth (12800km) is a rounding error in comparison to the average distance to Jupiter ~700 million km. 

This highlights an important point. When some rando on YouTube claims to have predicted something correctly and pats himself on the back about it, you need to be skeptical and look at the data they aren’t highlighting. Did the person make 27 other predictions that were wrong that he doesn’t talk much about or pretends never happened? This is common behavior among these sorts of people.

Makes sense, I suppose this is why I haven't come across any actual explanations besides buzzwords. But...

Would this mean that while it's not yet proven, it has yet to be disproven? Does Jupiter also affect climate, by extension, on Earth for instance? Why shouldn't changes in movement and speed also lead to tectonic shifts through inertia? This is all new to me so excuse my simplistic questions.

Tbh overall still sounds like astrology to me more than anything, i.e. lucky guess. But I'd rather not exclude a possibility of interplanetary effects if it's not yet something disproven.
