:salam:

I have done 2 istikharas for a major academic decision. (The first istikhara asking should I do x and the second istikhara asking should I do y).

the method I used is below:

Quote

DUA'A 8 Given below is the method of seeking istikhara from the holy quaran recommended by the Prophet
(i) Recite al Ikhlas 3 times
(ii) recite salawat at 3 times
(iii) then say:
Allaahumma Innee Tafaa-Altu Bikitaabika Wa Tawakkaltu A'layka Fa-Arinee Min Kitaabika Maa Huwa Maktoobun Min Sirrikal Makanooni Fee Ghaybika
(iv) Open the Holy Quran and derive the indication from the first line of right hand page.

https://www.duas.org/istikhara.htm

Could someone who has the knowledge let me know which one is a better decision to pursue.

- Verse 1 for option 1 (Surah Zumar 39:41)

Indeed We have sent down the Book to you for [the deliverance of] mankind with the truth. So whoever is guided is guided for his own sake, and whoever goes astray, goes astray to his own detriment, and it is not your duty to watch over them.

- Verse 2 for option 2 (Surah Insan 76:6)

عَينًا يَشرَبُ بِها عِبادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرونَها تَفجيرًا

a spring where the servants of Allah drink, which they make to gush forth as they please.

JazakAllah Khayr

Not experienced/knowledgeable, but my view the tenor of both these verses is positive.

first choice is in middel as 50-50 which doing it depends on you .

Istikhara result:
The choice is yours
Overall result:
It's Medium which if you observe all aspects and if you  act with caution so then it's good otherwise is bad .

Marriage result:
It is not worth the effort and pain, you will find a bad life, so it is better not to start at all.

Transaction result:
you will come across scammers, act with caution and leave it if possible.

Two things should not be forgotten during Istikhara:

1- Istikhara is unique to the point where the positive or negative nature of the work is not clear to the person, and it is not clarified by thinking, and even by consulting with experts and advisers; This place is the place of Istikhara and otherwise it is wrong to do Istikhara.

2- Repeated istikharas in one thing should be avoided (unless the distance becomes noticeable or the conditions change.) In repeated istikharas, the first istikhara is valid and the rest are not valid.
A person should not hesitate after Istikhara - with the conditions mentioned above - and follows it and asks Allah for his good and goodness and trusts in His pure nature, and be sure that he will get [good] results. [inshaAllah]

Do the Jews do istikhara?

In the Middle Ages, the Jews used a special way of Istikhara with holy book. This method was used during the Talmudic period and the spread of the oral law of the Jewish religion among the Jewish people. According to this method, the well-wishers would ask a child what verses of the holy book he read that day in school. The child would  recite the verses he learned that day. The intenders received the answer to their intention by taking signs of good and evil and the auspiciousness or inauspiciousness of the meaning of the words and themes of the verses (Judaica [1], VI / 119; also see: Koen, 290).

Encyclopaedia Judaica, 1971; Massé, H., Croyances et coutumes Persanes, Paris, 1938.

Salam a sheikh told me that if circumstance change istikhara can be redone so I got this verse from Surah 20 (Taha)

Istikhara result:
do it
Overall result:
It's good , Don't to go around so much, do it, otherwise you will realize that regret is useless.
Marriage result:
It's a good thing, don't worry that you'll regret later that I wish...
Transaction result:
Take action, Allah will bless it.
