Salam alaikum

MORALITY IS OF TWO TYPES subjective and Objective

Is Morality Subjective according to Islam or Objectives or it can be both

I have seen some Irreligious claim that its Subjective in a sense that in Past human Sacrifice were common but now they are immoral so morality changes and is subjective

As a Muslim should we consider Morality to be subjective or Objective or can we accept both

And how can we defend ourselves when it comes to type of Morality we accept!

JazakAllah khair

Salam Alaykum,

There is a fitri aspect to this. Everyone by their very innate nature knows what is right and wrong. For example, being rude to parents, lying, backbiting, bribing etc.

However in some cases knowing exactly what is the right or wrong thing to do or how to behave in a certain situation is not as simple Because even in our hadith literature not everything is prescriptive. Sometimes context plays a role too on how we should act in a certain situation.

But generally there is a fitri aspect to this which would make it objective. That's why the Arabs during the time of Prophet Muhammad ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) valued his character and how he would act. As everyone has knowledge of right and wrong. It's in our soul.

Salam this is totally wrong claim because "human Sacrifice" always has been immoral since past until now which people who have practiced it just said that they have done it becuae their forefathers have done it which it always has been against Fitra as brother  @ali_fatheroforphanshas mentioned it so therefore morality in islam has been both of subjective & objective .
