Brother how does it feel like when you go umra as a group vs by yourself?

Somewhat more stressful to be honest. Also you do have to do much more research yourself and e.g. either memorise the layout of the Baqi cemetery or keep maps to hand on your phone.  I'll add links to Youtube videos I found helpful.

When I started this thread it literally was a last minute thing (I was booking my hotel in Medina while in the departure lounge in Riyadh). But I guess more people may be in this position now since the Saudis have made Umra visas much easier (you can get them if you use Saudi airlines for connections).

What really matters is being able to find someone on the ground who can help (for payment!). This time the person has been very knowledgeable/helpful and that has really helped.

In a group you have the shared knowledge of everyone else (as well as the leader) - which can really help, especially when ad hoc issues arise. This time my family's presence has been very helpful in terms of their knowledge.

What does it read ? Cannot figure it out..

ھذا اسطونتہ السریر

"It is the Sareer Pillar" inside Masjid al-Nabawi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) in Riyadul Jannah/original part of the mosque.

Quote

‘Sareer’ means sleeping place. It is reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to make i’tikaaf here also, and used to sleep here while in i’tikaaf. A platform of wood used to be put here for him to sleep on.

Well spotted. Wrong pic.

This is the right one, which says “This pillar is for protection” and both sects agree on who used to give it to the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).)

This is the grave of Hz Khadija. The challenge when you go by yourself is to find it. There is no signage. I'll give a link to a video I found which had enough clues for my son to locate it. Once there it's easy enough and you can ask others who have gathered there.

Meccan mountain where the Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) hid with Abu Bakr

This is the sign at the entrance. Obviously aimed at Sunnis.

Not the exact one but good enough, there are others if you search on youtube.
