Iran thwarts drone attacks on Isfahan military site

Iranian defence ministry says a loud blast heard in Isfahan was caused by ‘unsuccessful’ drone attacks.

Iran’s defence ministry has reported several drone attacks on a military plant in the country’s central city of Isfahan.

The attacks were “unsuccessful” and there were no casualties, the ministry said in a statement early on Sunday.

 

“One of [the drones] was hit by the … air defence and the other two were caught in defence traps and blew up,” said the statement carried by the state news agency, IRNA. “Fortunately, this unsuccessful attack did not cause any loss of life and caused minor damage to the workshop’s roof,” it said.

The ministry did not say who was suspected of carrying out the attack.

The statement came shortly after Iranian media reported a loud blast in Isfahan.

News agencies published a video showing a flash of light at the plant, said to be an ammunitions factory, and footage of emergency vehicles and fire trucks outside the plant.

The ministry said the attack “has not affected our installations and mission … and such blind measures will not have an impact on the continuation of the country’s progress”.

Reports of the drone attacks in Isfahan also came as Iran’s state TV also said a fire had broken out at an oil refinery in an industrial zone near the northwestern city of Tabriz.

It said the cause was not yet known as it showed footage of firefighters trying to extinguish the blaze.

There have been several explosions and fires around Iranian military, nuclear and industrial facilities in the past few years.

Iran also blamed Israel for the assassination of its top nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, in 2020, as well as an attack on its underground Natanz nuclear facility in April 2021 that damaged its centrifuges.

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Israeli officials rarely acknowledge operations carried out by the country’s secret military units or its Mossad intelligence agency.

Citing unnamed U.S. officials, the Wall Street Journal reported that the target was a munitions factory and the attack was carried out by small Israeli quadcopters (Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the strikes).

 

 

 

It is unclear if the munitions factory itself was the target of the attack, as it is located next to an Iran Space Research Center site, which has been sanctioned by the U.S. for its alleged work on ballistic missiles, the report added.

In a statement on Sunday, the Iranian Defense Ministry said a factory in the city of Isfahan was targeted by three drones but claimed that the attack was “unsuccessful.”

Two of the three drones “were caught in traps” and a third one was shot down by air defense inside the factory, resulting in only “minor damage” on the facility’s roof and no casualties, the ministry added.

Israeli media outlets and journalists citing official sources within the country, however, reported that the strikes successfully targeted four different areas of a building linked to Iran’s missile program.

The strikes come on the eve of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s Middle East tour, which includes visits to Egypt, Israel and the occupied West Bank territory.

One of these quadcopters loses its GPS link due to jamming during the confrontation, and this causes it to fall and collide with the roof of the shed. Due to the disruption of its connection and its fall, it hits the roof of the shed.

This complex has experienced a similar case before and the measures taken after that incident lead to the fact that no significant damage was caused to its workshops and sheds in this attack.

It should be mentioned that another one of these quadcopters, which was less damaged during the confrontation operation, was given to the security forces stationed in the complex.

Israel for years has assassinated Iranian nuclear scientist, assassinated high ranking Politicians and now even dared to attack military sites. 

Not to forget the Aerial attacks on Iranian and pro Iranian militia in Syria. 

Iran have barely responded. Maybe arming Hamas and others in Gaza but Iran have barely given a direct response to Israel and have only given them threats. 

Over the years i have really started doubting legitimacy of claims like freeing Palestine or destroying Israel when it's pretty clear that Iran has always been on the receiving end.

Israel has in recent weeks refused requests from the US to hand over ten Hawk anti-aircraft batteries and hundreds of interceptor missiles for delivery to Ukraine, according to a Wednesday report.

Dror Shalom, who heads the Defense Ministry’s political-Military Bureau, told the US Defense Department that Israel has not changed its policy of not sending weapons to Ukraine, and the defensive armaments are obsolete anyway, according to the Walla news site, citing three Israeli officials.

The weapons are mothballed in storage in Israel, the report said.

Israel has resisted providing weapons to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s invasion. One major reason for Israel’s hesitance appears to be its strategic need to maintain freedom of operations in Syria, where Russian forces largely control the airspace.

The issue has strained ties between Jerusalem and Kyiv, as the Ukrainians have consistently pressed Israel to provide more defense aid. The Ukrainian ambassador earlier this month urged Israel to supply his country with missile defense systems in the wake of continued deadly Russian strikes.

The New York Times reported earlier this month that the US military was quietly shipping hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine from a massive stockpile in Israel.

This is what I find problematical with interpretation of modern Jews Scholars. It seems that they have truly lost their sense of morality by accepting the Zionist Israel as somehow God wanted and accepted government for Messiah and true believers. The same government and it's people that oppress those who believe in the same God of Israel. They accept that this government is somehow representing of God will and who ever condemn this government and their oppression is against God's will.

Will the Persians be destroyed before the Arabs are destroyed? What does Sunni eschatological aḥādīth (کتاب الفتن) or Kitab al Fitan or "The Book of Tribulations and War" say about the destruction of Persia? The largest earthquake took place late on Saturday at a depth of 7km (4.3 miles) and was felt in Urmia and several other counties as well. More than 40 aftershocks have been registered since, the largest of which was a magnitude of 4.2.

Damage was reported to buildings and some of the infrastructure in the area as a result of the quakes, especially to residential buildings in dozens of villages surrounding Khoy, some of which also experienced power blackouts.

The city had experienced several smaller but considerable earthquakes in the past few months that bore no casualties and did not leave extensive damage.

The authorities have tried to strengthen vulnerable residential buildings, with the governor saying the efforts worked and damages were only reported in areas where buildings were older and not fortified.

Footage showed streets in Khoy filled with traffic late on Saturday as residents abandoned their homes. Many have since been stationed in temporary tents amid close-to-freezing winter temperatures.

Babak Mahmoudi, the head of the country’s Relief and Rescue Organisation, told state media that two planeloads of aid left the Mehrabad Airport in Tehran shortly after midnight while dozens of trucks filled with rescue items departed for Khoy from surrounding provinces.

Salam it's not been first earthquake in Khoy ,Iran which about one month ago first eartquake has happened in Khoy which at that time a terrorists attack to Isfhan by PKK terroists by support of Israel   have been  neglected due too  much  covering unrests & rebeling  in Iran  & it's  Kurdish region which  repeating earthquake in Khoy  has been possible after one month which anti Iran MSM has initiated another blended negative propganda about Iran by portraying drone attack to Isfahan as a successful attack by blending it about fake news about spreading famine in near future in Iran due to high inflation & arresting young people due to dancing in public places & similar fake news .

'Tehran’s ability to expand its military presence in our hemisphere should be a warning sign,' Sen. Rubio says

The United States is tracking warlike announcements by Iran’s regime that it deployed two military ships to Brazil that are also headed for the Panama Canal, where Tehran declared it will establish a military presence.

 A U.S. State Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday, "We are aware of these claims by Iran’s navy. We continue to monitor Iran’s attempts to have a military presence in the Western Hemisphere."

The Iranian regime-controlled news outlet Tehran Times reported Saturday that "Iran’s 86th flotilla warships is now sailing along the western shores of Latin America, the Navy second-in-command said."

Fox News Digital learned on Tuesday from a Western security source that Iranian warships have not yet docked in Brazil.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital in a statement that "Iran’s growing presence in the Western Hemisphere should come as no surprise as the Biden Administration has a history of appeasement and engaging with authoritarian regimes. Tehran’s ability to expand its military presence in our hemisphere should be a warning sign, especially as it seeks to support the left-wing Marxist regimes that will undermine peace and stability throughout the region."

IRAN HOLDS TOP MILITARY DRILLS IN MAJOR OIL WATERWAY IN 'WAR BEFORE THE WAR' 

Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, R-Fla., told Fox News Digital, "Iran has been aggressively strengthening its ties to the Western Hemisphere through like-minded socialist regimes in Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. They are also looking for opportunities elsewhere, and it’s no coincidence that Iranian ships are docking in Brazil just a month after a socialist retook power in the country."

She added, "Instead of supporting the Iran-friendly socialist and left-wing regimes in Latin America, the Biden administration should be strengthening political forces committed to keeping our hemisphere free of antisemitic terror."

Iran’s regime has been classified by successive administration's as the world’s worst state-sponsor of international terrorism.

In early January, the commander of the Islamic Republic’s navy, Rear Adm. Shahram Irani, told the Iranian regime-controlled Fars News, "We have been present in all the strategic straits of the world, and we have not been present in only two straits — in one of which we will be present this year, and we are planning to be present in the Panama Canal."

The clerical regime’s military interference in the vital Panama Canal shipping transport passage could damage U.S. trade and rattle the global economic market. A staggering 16 percent of the world’s shipping fleet is registered in Panama, according to deadweight tonnage.

The Tehran Times reported that Iranian Rear Adm. Hamzeh Ali Kaviani told the U.S.-sanctioned Iran news outlet Press TV that the flotilla of warships will dock in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Kaviani added that "Iran’s military might is increasing day to day despite all the pressures against the Islamic Republic over the past 43 years."

The Iranian regime paper added that Kaviani said the navy’s 86th flotilla includes the Dena and Makran and that Dena is a Mowj-class warship that has been part of Iran’s navy since June 2021: "The military vessel is reportedly equipped with anti-ship cruise missiles, torpedoes and naval cannons," wrote the news outlet. "Makran is a forward base ship weighing 121,000 tons. The warship can carry five helicopters and is employed for providing logistical support for the combat warships."

The same Western security source told Fox News Digital that Iran doesn't have a growing military presence in Central America. However, the same source said noted concern about Iran’s desire to project power into the Americas and that governments around the region need to be engaged regarding Iran’s destabilizing international role.

Mojtaba Babaei, a spokesperson for the Iran mission at the United Nations, told Fox News Digital that the "Iranian navy presence in international waters is in accordance with international laws and to gain knowledge, experience and increase capabilities, not against any country."

The Consul General of Panama in New York told Fox News Digital that the Fox News query was sent to the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a response. The Consul General of Panama sent Fox News Digital a link to a statement from Panama Foreign Minister Janaina Tewaney.  

"It is not true that we support terrorism," Tewaney said in response to former Florida Republican Gov. Jeb Bush's opinion article in the Washington Post in January.

Bush, who is an advisory board member of United Against Nuclear Iran, wrote that Panama "has been instrumental in the [Iranian] regime’s continued survival" and that Panama is "strengthening Iran by helping it to circumvent sanctions." Bush also said Panama aids Iran’s in oil smuggling.

Fox News Digital sent numerous press queries to the Brazilian government regarding Iran's plans to dock warships in their ports, but as of press time no response was given.
