So im biologically female and I want to ask if I can use They/ Them as my pronouns I don't believe in multiple genders and all that... I'm a female and just want to use They/ Them as pronouns is that haram in anyway?

I’m not sure, but why do you feel a need to? You are biologically female, therefore the correct pronoun would be “she”. Unless you legitimately feel like a man and need to undergo a sex change, I don’t see the rationale behind using the other genders pronouns or using “they/them”. Imo, its just one more ridiculous fad and attempt to skew basic biology. A woman can manifest both feminine and masculine traits. Same goes for a man. But they are still a woman, and a man. The pronouns remain the same.

Salam sister

If you have a look at the origin of these pronouns their come from gender fluid people or people who support them as i identify as this that etc, Although they say that these are just pronouns but they actually point towards gender selection for if a guy uses she her I can't question him or I can't even call him him.

This is the actual purpose pronouns gained fame for and Muslims actually use them

You are already a female so using she/her won't be any issue

But the its about their origin not what they mean

JazakAllah khair

I don't feel like a man or think anything for that matter.., the only reason I want to use They/Them is it gives me a sense of security and something that is me. Since They/Them is just a nutural pronouns does it really affect if a women or a man uses them? Since it goes both ways, and like u said I agree that no matter what they use a man is a man, and a women is a women, and thats why I was asking if its haram.. if any hadith or quranic verse mentions something that points to this topics, plus irl I don't immitate or act like the opposite gender I'm a female and act like one.

Salam sis/ brother.

I actually disagree as these pronouns originated from the english language. Their original purpose has nothing to do with genderfluid or nb people. They are used to refer to ambigious/ multiple people. There was never any ill intent behind them to change baisc biology or cause harm and confusion in societies. I am also very clearly female persenting in real life.. I wear the hijab and what more than this screams that I'm a female. I've been searching for over 2 years on this topic trying to find any hadiths or quranic verses that refer to this or the overall idea of it, and all I can ever find is either baised people or people (who refer to sunni hadiths) using the hadith in a manner to fit their ideals when the hadith has NOTHING to do with the topic or filed of this topic.

I know of no prohibition against this,  but I'm concerned about reason. Why do you feel safer as a neutral person than as a female person? You should be able to just be your true self,  whatever that means, so long as you don't sin or hurt anyone.

You mean why I want to use They/Them? Well since they dont seem to go against any quranic verses or hadiths (as far as my knowledge goes) and they give me comfort. Thats all. Fellow Sister/brother I don't want any baised opinions on the matter.. I want an honest veiw on this, does it go against anything as far as you know? After you read about my situation?

I know of no prohibition, as I've said.

You certainly don't have to answer here,  but I want you to think about why they give you comfort - or why feminine pronouns are uncomfortable for you.

I just use she/they pronouns because they make me feel more comfortable about myself. I was born a female but I have a ton of male traits and the pronouns She/Her don't satisfy me that much since it doesn't exactly match me. She/They is more suitable for me because it's basically She/Her and They/Them

Salam

I haven’t seen a senior scholar give a specific ruling on this

However, if we look at the base narrations general principles and methodologies

One could infer that if using they them pronounce leads others to believe you are supporting LGBTQIA+ or promoting their ideology, even if you’re not, but it gives the perception then this could be prohibited or definitely should be avoided by precaution

It is attributed in a slightly weak, but reliable narration from Imam Sadiq as that Allah set said whoever walks, like my enemy talks like my enemy dresses, like my enemy eats like my enemy becomes my enemy

and my followers should distinguish themselves in words, deeds, actions, and appearance

There is also the famous narration found in both schools of thought whoever imitates a people is of them

So somethings even if a person hasn’t seen rolling. It’s clear from general principles it’s better to avoid.

:salam:

Wow, I had missed the above posts.

First of all one should question the origins of such a shift in social denominations.

The way I understand it, the English language usually allows to use THEY instead of HE/SHE, when the gender of a person is unknown to a THIRD person, as 'Someone left their phone on the table. I hope they come back for it'. The person speaking has NO IDEA, or at least DOUBTS about the above-mentioned person.

Now it becomes a serious issue when Muslim men or Women implicitly admit they DOUBT, or even worse have NO IDEA of their own gender, when the creation of Man AND Woman (not Man OR Woman) is described as SIGNS (or PROOFS) of Allah's creation (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) in our holy book, the word of Allah, the Qur'an.

Before looking for a fatwa, people please never forget to use your intellect and inner vision.

May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) guide us all.

Use whatever pronouns you like, but please don't use reflexive pronouns incorrectly. I don't know about anyone else, but I find that really offensive.
