Salam alaykium everyone!

I have a online business and I just want to ask a question.

Is it halal to sell to Israel or should I avoid it? I ask that question because I have spent some money accidentally on Israel and it was profitable more than most countries.

Can I continue selling there or not?

Thanks everyone!

On what basis are those statements made? because if it's based on zulm against innocent beings, I would add many more nations to that list, which would greatly restrict your equipment choices.

Your computer or smartphone, which you are using to respond to this thread, undoubtedly has some components made in Israel.

(Note, I am not a scholar, this is just my interpetation)

It is not just any zulm, but the most zulm. Of course in the west, a lot of things have israeli origin(namely tech).

On the other hand, there are companies who directly support israel and are not necessary for a Muslim, like israeli soda machines or tourism to Tel Aviv. I think this is what Ayatollah Sistani means.

Also I am not sure how to answer OP's question, to be on the safe side, do not sell to the region of occupied Palestine. Though I could see a counterargument being that there are a lot of cities and areas within occupied Palestine that are "majority arab"(aka still inhabited by native Palestinians).

My inference from the ruling is that anything that is identifiably made in Israel should not be purchased. Overall the issue is one of demonstrating one's displeasure in a peaceful way. If that route is also to be closed down - what do you do?

Nothing at all?

And if that were to happen the Israelis could justifiably claim that their actions against the Palestinians were not an issue since Muslims had no concerns dealing with obviously Israeli entities.

Depends to whom and when and how. A geographic location or government can never be treated as one person. There are good people living there, and good people in pretty much every country and even inside very questionable organisations. Buying and selling is usually between two parties represented by two people.

My advice would be to look at trade as something interpersonal, and not inter national, especially that we are not on the level of country leadership. We are just people dealing with people. It's not our business what the Knesset does, just like most people living there.

Were Israel a dictatorship your argument would certainly have merit. However as they themselves proclaim they are 'the only democracy in the Middle East', which means that their government's policy represents the will of the people.

Not every person with an Israeli nationality said that I'm sure. There are opinions of all walks living there with that nationality.

I firmly believe that democracy does not exist anywhere in the world.
In the modern world, voting for the best option among the worst possible choices is what is known as "democracy."

Not taking into account election rigging.

Salam it doesn't matter whether ther is good people between them or not which because by becoming residents of occupied palestine inside oppressive fake state of Israel so therefore it means  that they have agreed with all of policy of Zionist Israral whther they are good or bad people which they are likewise of army of cursed Yazid which there has been good people between then while Imam hussain (عليه السلام) has martyred so therefore because of just being a member or helper or just watcher in army of cursed Yazid against Imam Hussain (عليه السلام) so therefore all of them whether good or bad have been doomed to eternal punishment in hell which all of residents of oppressive fake state of Israel  are as like as cursed Yazid's army.

Brother first of all thank you.

Thank you for being one of the few active people on this forum and God bless you and guide you and keep you , your family, loved ones, and country safe, as well as your neighbouring countries and all the world's.

So please don't be offended by my differing opinion on this matter, and forgive if I in any way come across as tyrannical.

My opinion on the matter is simple. If you look at any land occupied by people today, you will find they are the occupiers al khalifu el ard bi izn Allah. They have inherited the land from people before them, and in 99% - at least - it involved sword. Europe was occupied by a host of tribes that can be summed up as celts,  and the Romans took over their land. They were ethnically and culturally even more different than bani ish7aq ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) and bani Ism3eel ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) . And now Iran trades with Australia for instance. Why doesn't it matter to Iran that this is occupied land that belongs to the aboriginals for thousands of years? Don't they trade with UK and have an embassy there? The UK has always directly or indirectly occupied other peoples lands. Lands of people very different than their own.

So I am not justifying the crimes of any human being, regardless of tribe, but simply saying that you might make business with an American Muslim guy living in dearborn, who pledges allegiance to the flag and everything, and Iran calls that the great Satan.

Business is trade between good people. We should not let some birth certificate, passport, or any other government imaginary border make us forget the humanity in the populations of all the worlds.

Thanks

Salaam

Salam It's totally comaparing apples with oranges which Iran has stopped trades with both of south Africa's Apartheid regime & fake state of Isreal since success of Islamic revolution of Iran (IRI) because after Iran revolution in both regions  native peoples of both of them have been oppressed by tyrants & oppressor which Apartheid has been fallen in South Africa so then Iran has started it's trade with it due to ending of oppression there but on the other hand oppression against Muslims brothers & sisters & other native Palestinians has not been ended in occupied Palestine by Zionist invaders which oppression of native people of Australia has been happened before success of Islamic revolution of Iran (IRI) which in similar fashion conquering other countries is matter of too long time ago in history which if we knew about it so therefore we would stand any type of oppression in past which there is no evidence about oppression against aboriginals of Iran although of common struggles which has happened during migration of Persians to Iran with previous natives also if you read history you will find out that many free men in both of Iraq & Iran has uprised against invasion & oppression UK  but unfortunately they have been martyred due to betrayal of inerior agents of Britain in previous governments of Iran  which Iran's relation with UK always have been full of ups & down likewise now which it's as worst point due to hanging of an interior spy agent of UK in Iran .

Salam it seems taht you don't read my posts which I have mentioned it's not about not trading with people due to "national identity, or physical document" but onthe other hand not trading with fake zionist state of Israel & it's citizens is based on fihjting with injustice & oppression of peopel of Palestine by fake zionist state of Israel  which anyone who identifies himself as citizen of fake zionist state of Israel  so therefore is helper of oppressor & tyrant fake zionist state of Israel  although of physical document or race & birth & etc whther that person   is a good or bad person which anyone from Jews who is resident of Israel has chosen this identity by choice which they see themselves as chisen people so therefore which some of them  live with a fake & artificial  ignorance in order to turn a blind eye & deaf on  tyranny & oppression of fake zionist state of Israel which certainly  Imam Hussein or Imam Ali or their grandfather, or children  have been supporter of oppressd against oppressor through any means likewise not trading or any othe means which during caliphate of Imam Ali (عليه السلام)  his supporters have minimum trade with supporters of supporters of cursed Muawiah in Syria & Sham which in similar fashion Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) has banned Shias from taking help from judges of Abbasisds even if they could take back their right .

Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) :, “if you stand against the judicial verdict of my representatives and appointees, you will oppose me, and the one who does so will stand against Heaven.”

Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) preserved the Judicial and legal Independence of Shia Islam Part (1)

Quote

RNA - Mahmood Hekmatnia, the faculty member of the Research Center for Islamic Culture and Thought said, “Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) also struggled with this view and announced to the Shiites that they are supposed to refer to Imam’s jurisprudents and the one appointed by me. The verdicts issued by the installed judges needed the governmental support, however, Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) hadn't such support. He was Imam, and as he officially had no governmental power, he determined a spiritual sanction for the laws. He said, “if you stand against the judicial verdict of my representatives and appointees, you will oppose me, and the one who does so will stand against Heaven.”

Quote

He also announced, “The judicial system of the Umayyads was void of such threats. As each city or country had its own judicial system, and there was not such judicial solidarity and unity, i.e. if a verdict was to be executed, it was not regarded as a national law. Such differences enabled Shiites and followers of Imam Sadiq and Baqir (عليه السلام) to be present in the jurisdiction of their own judicial systems.

Quote

Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) showed reactions to both cases. Regarding the first case, he struggles with the verdict-based system of Abu Hanifa, and he implicitly and explicitly impugned Abu Hanifa’s methodology. Even in some cases, he explicitly expressed his disapproval of this system.”

Quote

Mahmood Hekmatnia then stated, “For instance, the judgement over a simple lease case by a judge was reported to Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام), however as the judge had based his judgement on verdict and comparison, it enraged Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) and said, “If Heaven deprives his servants of his blessings because of this verdict, it is no wrong”. Imam Sadiq’s stance is not confined only to the said case. However, he impugns this method of understanding/interpretation, as if this method prevailed, the jurisprudential and legal systems of Islam would dissolve.

when people refer to the judicial system, they attend to the verdict of the judge and see either the government approves of the issued verdict or not. The support of the government for the judicial verdict encourages people to accept the jurisprudence whose verdicts are eventually guaranteed by the government to come into effect.

It has been said that after Ibrahim, the Imam’s murder, when the movement was in the hands of Saffah and the others, Abu Salmah became regretful and thought of returning the caliphate from the ‘Abbasid Dynasty to Abu Talib’s Dynasty. He wrote a letter with two copies and confidentially sent them to Medina. One was for Imam al-Sadiq and one was for ‘Abd Allah ibn Hassan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.5 He told the courier, “Give these two letters to these two people in private but do not inform either of them that I have written the same letter for the other one.”6

In the letters he wrote, “The caliphate is finally in my hands. I have authority here. I am the one who had turned the events in favor of the ‘Abbasid Dynasty. If you agree I will change the situation to your favor.”

The reaction of Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) and ‘Abd Allah al-Mahd

The courier gave the letter to Imam al-Sadiq first. It was during night time. He gave the letter to ‘Abd Allah al-Mahdafterwards. The reactions from these two people were completely opposite. When he gave the letter to Imam al-Sadiq he said, “I have brought this letter from you follower Abu Salmah.” The Imam replied, “Abu Salmah is not my follower. Then he said, “In any case, this is the letter to which he asked for your response.” The Imam said, “Bring fire!” He did not read the letter, placed it into the fire and burnt it, right in front of the courier’s eyes. The Imam then said, “Tell your friend, this is your response, and read the following poem:

O you who start fires for others,

And O you who gather logs in the desert,

Do you think you have put them on your own rope?

You do not know however that the logs you have gathered, you have placed on someone else’s rope.

He will then come and pick your log yield.”7

What did the Imam mean by this poem? By this poem, the Imam certainly wanted to illustrate a situation where someone is working hard and another person tries to reap their efforts to his own advantage. Now maybe this was his point, “O miserable Abu Salmah, you put all this effort, do not you know that someone else will use the outcome and you will be left with nothing.” The Imam may have been addressing those like himself, because if he accepted Abu Salmah’s request, that meant he would be invited to a deed into which he put a lot of effort but someone else would come and reap the benefits.

There is, of course, nothing else in the text, except that the Imam burnt the letter and read this poem and did not give any other responses.

Marwan ibn al-Hakam and his father al-Hakam ibn al-Aass were banished
from Madina by the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) because they were abusing Islam and Muslims openly and trying to harm the Muslim community.

Authentic Hadeeths in Sunni and Shia Books that the Prophet cursed Marwan and his father. The Prophet (SAWA) cursed al-Hakam ibn al-Aass and all the children from him. In the well known Sunni book (Al-Istiyaab Page 359 and 360 ) that when the Prophet saw Marwan ibn al-Hakam, said “Al-Wazagh ibnul Wazagh””Al Mal’aoon ibnul Mal’aoon””The Lizard Son of the Lizard” “The Cursed Son of The Cursed”.

He was an open enemy against the Prophet (Peace be upon Him and His holy Progeny). His son Marwan Ibn al-Hakam was also expelled from Madina by Prophet (Peace be upon Him and His holy Progeny) for the same reason.

Ameerul Momeneen ((عليه السلام).) said about Marwan that his hand is a Jewish hand. Mustadrak as-Saheehayn by Al-Hakim al-Nisaburi Volume-4 Page-479.

Quote

Ayesha openly told Marwan that I bear witness that the Prophet cursed you and your father. When Uthman ibn Affan became the ruler over Madina after Umar, he brought Marwan ibn al-Hakam and gave him charge in his government and also he brought his father al-Hakam ibn al-aaass to Madina against the orders of Prophet (Peace be upon Him and His holy Progeny).

Quote

Ibn Abdil Birr has stated the reason for his externment from Medina . The Holy Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).a.) used to have his confidential meetings with his close companions. Hakam somehow managed to learn the essence of the secret discussions and made it public. Besides, he also used to mimic the Holy Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).a.). Once he was also caught by the Holy Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).a.) in the act.

(Al-Istiaab by Ibn Abdil Birr, this book was published as a marginal note with Al-Isaaba hence vide Al-Isaaba vol.1 p. 317/ 318)

When Hakam was externed from Medina , Marwan was hardly 7 or 8 years old. He left for Taef along with his father. Even during the reign of Abu Bakr and Umar, he was not allowed to enter Medina. But defying the norms of both his predecessors, Usman recalled him. Moreover, he appointed Hakam’s son Marwan as his advisor.

Quote

Al-Shaibi said: ‘I heard Ibn al-Zubair saying: ‘I swear by the Lord of this House (Kaaba) that al-Hakam bin Abi Al-Aas and his sons were  cursed by the tongue of Muhamad (s)’’

Al-Hakam was Uthman’s uncle. Marwan was his son, and he was a key governor of Muawiya during his reign. Prior to that, both were blue eyed eyes during the caliphate of Uthman who was the poster boy for the Bani Umayah.

Under the chapter Ibn Hajar Asqalani has recorded some Hadiths to that effect. Ibn Hajar Makki al-Haythami has also recorded such reports that confirm that Bani Umayah’s governor Marwan used to curse the Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام) and the Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام) brought to his attention the fact that he was already cursed by the Prophet (s).

Quote

when Marwan became dissatisfied with the patience of Hasan (رضي الله عنه) he sent him some appalling messages about him and his respected father. His absurdities included this sentence that “Your example is like that of a mule for when it is asked who its father is, it will reply: “a horse”. Hadhrat Hasan said the messenger said: ‘Go back and tell Marwan: ‘By calling names to you, we do not want to remove whatever you have said against us. Verily we shall both appear before Allah. If you are ruled upon as a liar, Allah is the Greatest for taking revenge.” Verily Marwan has indeed ‘respected’ my grandfather Prophet (s) by giving me the similitude of a mule!” When returning the messenger met Hadhrat Hussain and after forcing him, he told him the statement of Marwan. Hadhrat Hussain said: “Tell Marwan: Take information about your father and your people yourself, as the sign between you and me is that the curse of the Holy Prophet (s) has stuck between your two shoulders”

Marwan b. al-Hakam b. Abi l-'As b. Umayya b. 'Abd Shams b. 'Abd Manaf was born in 2/623-4. His teknonym was Abu 'Abd al-Malik[1] and since he was tall while he had an unbalanced body, he became famous as "Khayt al-Batil" (deviated lanky).[2] He was the first person from among the children of al-Hakam b. Abi l-'As who reached caliphate and Banu Marwan are called after him.[3]

After the revolt of the people of Medina against Yazid, Marwan was exiled from the city and then asked 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar to protect his family, but Ibn 'Umar refused it and so Marwan had the same request from Imam al-Sajjad (a) and he (a) accepted his request and followed it up.[28] Then, Marwan went to Syria and stayed there until the death of Mu'awiya b. Yazid b. Mu'awiya.[29] According to some historical reports, the Event of Harra happened after the exile of Marwan and other Umayyads and their request for help from Yazid, when he sent an army to Medina.[30]

Marwan Ibn al-Hakam was open enemy against Ahlulbayt upto the extend that when the news of the killing of Imam Hussain reached Madina he went on the Pulpit and faced the Prophet’s Shrine and said “This is against what you did against us in Badr . (Yaumun Ka Yaum Badr) as you killed us in Badr we have killed your Grandson Husain, this is in Murooj al-Thahab by Al-Mas’oodi.
