El Rukn gang members approached Iran`s Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini for money after their efforts to solicit funds from Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi ran into difficulties, according to testimony Friday in U.S. District Court.

Jeff Fort, the gang`s leader, was told that Khomeini had already agreed to meet with gang members by Melvin Mayes, a gang general, according to tape- recorded telephone conversations. The tape was played Friday at the trial of Fort and four El Rukn members on charges of conspiring to commit acts of terrorism for Libya.

Tramell Davis, an accused gang member turned government witness helping the prosecution translate the conversations for jurors, testified that ''old friend'' is code for Khomeini, 87, while Gadhafi, 45, is called ''young friend.''

''He already expecting us,'' Mayes tells Fort.

''Yeah, that sounds real good, I like our old friend,'' Fort replies.

Davis testified that Khomeini had approved the idea of El Rukn members meeting with an Iranian representative to obtain money.

It was not clear whether gang members planned to travel to Iran-referred to in the conversations as ''the motherland''-or would meet a representative in Washington.

In dozens of conversations played this week, jurors heard the gang plotting different means of persuading Gadhafi to give them money. Two gang members, Reico Cranshaw and Leon McAnderson, visited Libya in March, 1986, and returned saying Gadhafi had promised the El Rukns $2.5 million.

But by the end of April, when the conversation regarding Khomeini took place, the tape has Fort sounding frustrated that no money had materialized.

Fort accuses Cranshaw of making promises to Gadhafi that the El Rukns couldn`t keep. Cranshaw confirms that the only real commitment he made was that the El Rukns would make threatening phone calls on behalf of the Libyans but without any reciprocal promises of money.

Throughout April, Fort directed gang members to impress the Libyans by preparing news clippings of violent incidents around the U.S. that the El Rukns would claim credit for, and by taping a video in which gang generals pledged allegiance to Gadhafi.

Besides Fort, Cranshaw and McAnderson, the defendants are Alan Knox and Roosevelt Hawkins. Mayes was also charged but he fled, reportedly to Libya.

Salam this is totally a hilarious far fetched idea which someone has translated a vague code for attracting news to  a far fetch conspiracy theory just because any news about Iran whether  wrong or right will be a hot news , which clearly members of this gang only have tried to recieve funds from Ghadafi based on recorded video by members of gang which by making such funny news so then "Chicago Tribune " only will lose it's few amournt of remaining credibility by turning it into a worthless yellow journalism.:hahaha:

Prosecutors contend two of the defendants in the current case, Leon McAnderson and Reico Cranshaw, spent a week in Panama - in code, the ″Straw Hat Scene″ - in June 1986 to meet Libyan envoys after money they said was promised when they visited Libya three months earlier was not forthcoming.

On the hope that the trip would produce a $50,000 installment of the $2.5 million they sought from Gadhafi and Libyan officials, McAnderson and Cranshaw took with them a video that Fort effectively directed in telephone calls from his cell in Bastrop, Texas, Davis said.

An excellent reference work on prison disturbances in the USA, this criminological monograph also documents the role of the BPSN in contract "for hire" terrorist work with Libya. It was this conspiracy to commit terrorism charge that resulted in Jeff Fort's current federal life prison sentence. Jeff Fort is the leader of the BPSN gang.

El Rukn general at center of bizarre Libyan terror plot to be released from prison

Chicago Tribune

Jan 22, 2022 at 3:55 pm

in updated news about "El Rukn gang" only name of Gadhafi as "young friend" has been decoded although of mentining  details of arresting gang member nothing has been mentioned about  code name of "old man"

At that trial, the government’s star witness, longtime El Rukn associate Tramell Davis, testified that Mayes was talking to Fort one day in March 1986 when another phone rang at the gang’s South Side headquarters.

It was Gadhafi, the man the gang referred to in code as their “young friend,” Davis testified. Mayes hooked his phone up to a speaker system and arranged a crude three-way call so Fort could speak to Gadhafi from prison in Texas.

“Salame alekum,” Fort allegedly said to Gadhafi, an Arabic greeting meaning “peace be with you,” according to Davis’ testimony.

The FBI stumbled onto the plot later that month after getting court authorization to wiretap telephones at the El Rukn headquarters as part of an investigation into a drug ring that Fort was running from prison.

Instead of narcotics, however, agents heard Fort and others talking about Libya, which at the time was engaged in an armed conflict with U.S. forces over the country’s terrorist ties. A federal terrorism task force was called in to set up a sting to try to catch El Rukn members attempting to buy rockets and explosives, according to trial testimony.

In early August 1986, Mayes and fellow El Rukn lieutenant Alan Knox bought an M-72 light antitank rocket from an undercover FBI agent in a hotel room in suburban Lansing. They also ordered a crate of hand grenades, flak jackets, night binoculars and five more rockets, according to a Tribune report.

This is a trick the US Media does. Whenever there is a negative headline about almost anything, they try to associate Iran with it. This is just a headline. They assume that most people (which is very true) only glance at the headline and don't actually read the story. If you read the story, you will find that A) Iran had nothing to do with it B) These are false accusations with no basis in verifiable facts. The stated mission of most of these media orgainzations is to bring you 'just the facts' and let you decide how to react to it. In reality, most media in the US are a propaganda arm of the Zionists and then whatever media party or group they happen to be aligned with. This is how they control public opinion, by planting 'headlines' and then assuming that most people will not investigate further. They are right 99% of the time, which is why it works.

In the US now, there is a consensus amoung the media and political elites (the ones who control what most people see and hear) that Iran is enemy #1 (has been that way for a while) and China is enemy #2. So anything you read in the media about Iran or China, investigate further before you make a decision as to whether it is true or false. If you don't have time to investigate, then just be comfortable with saying 'I don't know'. That is my advice to all the brothers and sister who live in the US / West.
