Salamu alaykum everyone, I hope you are all fine. For those of you who do not know, I have been search for a job for almost 2 months, subhanallah only when I posted a request on here for you guys to pray for me, after 2 weeks I received a call for an interview. Thanks for everyone who prayed for me to find a job. Currently, I am in a training session for 10 days, today was my 2nd days and tbh I don't know what I feel. I'm happy that I am around good people, all of these guys around me are from 20's, they are around my age and they are so sweet and helpful, they are trying their best to teach me how to work and giving me tips and motivate/cheer me up. But at the same time, I'm sad because I applied for call center but they accepted me as Tele sales, I don't have any experience about this job, these young men are very good at speaking and listening, they type fast while I'm not that good specially at listening, my listening skills are not that great, secondly I'm not seeing my family very often like before, cant cuddle with my cat as well because I'm tired or not in a mood. I am missing them alot.

What should I do now? If anyone can give me some tips on how to start my new life and how can I do all the stuff I love without feeling that something is empty inside of me. And pls pray for me.

I am not sure if it's same in your country but in US, telemarketing jobs are hardest. When I get a telemarketing call, I hang up as soon as I realize it's a telemarketing call. It doesn't matter if the caller has good communication skills or good style. So don't be hard on yourself if you are having a hard time learning. The reason you are feeling empty is also because of your job. If you find a job where you are doing good, you will become more relaxed and you won't feel empty.

Thank you sister, yeah it’s a hard job even here in the place where I live. But all jobs are hard, once I’m used to it then maybe it will be easy for me inshallah. If not then I can leave. I still didn’t make any contract, they will train me for 10 days and then I can make a contact for 3 months, after than I can decide if I want to stay or no.

Salam you just have patience & don't be worry  because as you have said that you are in a training session which your employers are testing & training you in order to  find out what is your abilities & talents which they don't expect you to act likewise a professional tele saler so you just try to do your best in any job that they give you but on the other hand don't have stress .

In US, telemarketing jobs are known for bad working conditions. No one wants to work in those jobs. One sign of bad working conditions is high turn over rate. I once worked at a place where people were leaving after 2 or 3 months. I knew that problem was not me, it was bad working condition. Good luck!!!

Even in the place where I live, telesales is one of the most wanted job, many people are coming here doing training, they make their contract for 3 months and then they leave once it’s done. It can make our CV looks good as well.

Yes, you will certainly acquire transferable skills - that will be of use whatever direction your career takes in the future. People sometimes look down on selling skills, but you need to sell all the time regardless of what your formal job role is.

Salam everyone, just wanted to give an update about my current job. Sadly the first month I did not hit the target, for the second month which is this month, I won't hit the target as well. Convincing people to renew their contract is really difficult, and my customers are all non arabs which make it harder as well. January will be my last month, I'm thinking once I'm done with my probation, I will not continue because I'm getting lesser than $600 per month. I won't lie tho, the environment in here is really good for me because almost all of my co-workers are friendly, helpful and sweet. My HR, team leaders and my supervisors are really good people too.
