Quote

If the US Senate acts on announced plans to single out Russia as such, it would mean Washington has crossed the point of no return, badly damaging – and possibly severing -- ties, said the head of Russian Foreign Ministry’s North American department.

The irony actually hurts.

When the US invades, loots, abuses, and slaughters anyone who doesn't surrender to them, they're not terrorists. In fact, they're fighting the terrorists.

But when Russia, after being provoked for 8 years, invades Neo-Nazi Ukraine, the whole world can't stop speaking about it, and Russia becomes a sponsor of terror.

What kind of a twisted, backward world to we live in?

May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) judge justly between the people.

I wonder if this will bother the HRC uranium deal.
It's all so convoluted.
I did see a cell phone video from a Russian girl who was showing what has changed in Moscow since the invasion. Probably 6 months ago.
A very modern two story shopping mall, (like you'd see in any American city). McDonalds was closed. Her favorite American clothing store was closed. 6-7 storefronts with big signs that were closed in the entire mall. Everybody was dressed well, everybody looked healthy. Vehicles looked more practical than stylish on average.
Russians were quite disappointed when Starbucks pulled out. Russian "entrepreneurs" have bought them out and now sell "Stars Coffee".
The McDonalds restaurants were bought out by private investment, (in a communist country). Seems they had some complaints at the onset. Burger buns are just bread without the high fructose additives and something about the fries.
I miss the dash cam videos that used to come out of Russia. They are crazy drivers.

I don't think Putin is stupid, nor crazed beyond reason. I think Russia is quite capable of being self sufficient. Nobody is in lineups to buy bread anymore. He could care less about sanctions. Russia seems to be quite calm while the rest of the world scrambles.

Ironically the sanctions helped Putin all the more.
Now Russians are convinced that he was right to mistrust and alienate the West and that this is an all-out war against them.

I think the sanctions are only affecting the technological sector of Russia but I don't think its government cares, aside from the military which probably isn't affected since they import all their gadgets from Germany which will never be on board with this madness.

Exactly, the sanctions are hurting the west more than Russia! But not only the politicians and governments of the west, but even the civilians. Why do I need to suffer from high petrol prices because my government is too stupid to realise that the world needs Russia? (I live in Australia). And Europe's even worse. They stopped buying gas from Russia, now the governments are telling the people to stop using the air conditioning! In Spain, right in the middle of Summer, it's prohibited for public places (restaurants, etc) to have their air conditioning below 27 degrees! Why make the people suffer because of the stupidity of the government?

Go to Germany as well. Where will Germany get its gas from if not from Russia?

Some have suggested that Europe can get gas and oil from Israel. (The problem with this being that Nasrallah would rather have a full-blown war break out than allow Israel to take the gas and oil). Hezbollah have issued multiple warnings to Israel that if it takes all the oil without giving Lebanon its share, the situation will by escalated.

Look at all these problems in the western world because of abandoning Russia. And what are Russia's problems because of the sanctions? McDonalds has a new name. Starbucks has a new name. Same food, different name.
