In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Prophet Muhammad’s ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)&hp) Sermon Welcoming the Holy Month of Ramadan

خطبة النبي الأكرم (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) في استقبال شهر رمضان

Imam al-Rida (p) and his forefathers (pbut) to Amir al-Muminin (p), narrate that the Messenger of Allah ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)&hp) addressed us one day and said:

“O People! Indeed, the blessed month of Allah has arrived with blessings, mercy, and forgiveness for you. A month that is considered the best of months by Allah. Its days are the best of days, its nights are the best of nights, and its hours are the best of hours. It is a month in which you are invited to be the guests of Allah. In this month you are considered to be people worthy of the grace of Allah. In this month, each breath you take glorifies Allah, your sleep is worship, your deeds are accepted, and your prayers are answered..."

Are the centers in your areas advertising any programs for the month? I'm not seeing much for London, I wonder if they are still afraid of covid.

Salam everyone, what will you do on the holy month other than praying? I’m bored and don’t know what to do. For now I’m getting ready to pray salatul layl.

im busy with my exams as well so no friends or hanging out, and my cat is annoying me a lot because she want a lot of attention, I have neglected her these days.

Salam,

It's highly recommended to finish the whole Quran in this month. I am trying to read one Juz every day, and hopefully I can continue until Shawwal inshallah.

Also hearing that you've been 'neglecting' your cat has made me feel sorry for her. Remember that there is much reward in taking care of animals.

I know that lying about Allah and His prophet breaks the fast, so I'm gonna phrase it like this: it is narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said,

"Surely, there are rewards for being kind and gentle to animals, and for giving them water to drink.” (I couldn't find the source for this).

Also, this PDF has 600+ pages of 'Amaal to be done during the holy month: https://www.duas.org/ramadhanpdfs/Ramadhan Amaal Pack - duas.org.pdf

Besides what is recommended, Imam Ali (عليه السلام) is reported to have said,

"The sleep of a fasting person is worship, his silence is glorification (of Allah), his prayers are answered and his actions are multiplied." (No source).

So according to this narration, any good deed that you do will be multiplied.

Not to mention that it is narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said,

"Your breaths in it [the month of Ramaḍan] are glorification [of God] and your sleep in it is worship."

(Source: Al-Amāli by Saduq, p. 93)

So even if you do nothing out of the ordinary, you're getting rewarded for breathing and sleeping. Ramadan Mubarak.

Oh brother, by neglecting, I meant I am not giving her enough attention like playing with her, cuddling and sometimes I kiss her forehead so that she feels safe. Everyday I feed her food, water and I clean the cat litter everyday. I have 3 cats and one of them is pregnant too :)

Anyway brother, thank you and may Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) bless u and ur loved ones.

An email from the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya (I.M.A.M.) about feeding the fasting people who are needy.

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The Holy Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)&hp) is reported to have said: “Whoever provides iftar [food for breaking the fast] of a fasting person in it [the month of Ramadan], will be granted forgiveness for his sins.”

[Al-Burujurdy, Jami ahadith al-Shia, vol. 9. p. 268]

Dear Believers,

You are invited once more to provide iftar for individuals in need who will be fasting in the blessed month of Ramadan.

Thanks to your generous donations toward this annual initiative, we were able to feed over fifty thousand people in need last year.

Through collaborative efforts with various non-profit global organizations, I.M.A.M. was able to send your support to people in need in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Iraq, Lebanon, and even right here in the United States.

Unfortunately, due to international armed conflicts and inflation, there are concerns over the cost of nutrition this year and your support is needed more than ever.

For only $15.00 USD, you can provide a meal to a fasting person in need, who is otherwise not able to provide iftar for themselves, and earn spiritual rewards.

Please Remember:

  • Despite current events, we still live in safety, peace, and lead a life full of numerous bounties.

  • We are in a place where we most likely can afford at least a sandwich every day.

  • We have brothers and sisters in humanity whose condition is critical, and who need our aid and assistance.

  • Providing iftar is a convenient way of showing gratitude to God, and without a doubt it is a reason for the continuation of blessings.

  • For those interested in the affairs of the poor and needy, responding to the calls from our brothers and sisters opens the gates of help in accordance with the call of our Prophet ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)&hp) to feed one fasting believer at the very least.

Notes:

  • The price of one iftar covers all expenses for a complete, cooked meal, or the ingredients of a complete meal.

  • If your donation arrives after the 15th of Ramadan and we are unable to apply it this year, then the money will be spent feeding the poor in general.

  • Please inform your friends and loved ones about this project and gain the rewards promised by Almighty God.

Salamu alaykum everyone,  my father didn't fast for almost 6 yrs because he is addicted to cigarettes and coffee. Before when he use to fast, he use to get angry for literally no reason. he was very aggressive with us, because he noticed it and my mother told him about it, he stopped fasting. On the first day of this holy month, he tried to fast but he couldn't sleep so he broke his fast.

Is there a anything he can do so that allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) forgives him?
