I’ve never been like this before, but lately I’ve been extremely scared of evil eye. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t hangout with my friends and family friends because I’m scared they will give me evil eye and something bad will happen to me. I pray, I make Duaa, I read surahs and the Quran and I’m still scared. I put my trust in Allah and I’m still scared. What should I do? Is it all in my head? I want my life back :(

As Salamu Alaykum. Honestly whatever I would advise to you is exactly what you've mentioned in your post. It's going to be difficult to reframe your mind if you are still feeling like this. Also, I feel like you may have been brought up around the superstitions around the evil eye as well (which plenty are baseless).

Just remember something though; who really has power over you? who is it that can change your condition in an instance? its Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). No amount of evil eye could hurt you as much, compared to Allahs (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) wrath.

There's a hadith from Imam Jafar al Sadiq (عليه السلام) (I think) which mentions how evil eye will only affect someone proportionate to how much they believe in it. So if you literally take no notice it will not affect you. Apologies but I cannot seem to find it!

However you say you are getting scared around friends and your own family, I would honestly seek out a therapist. There might be a stigma surrounding seeing therapists (In my community there is at least) but the help you can get through therapy is great. Trust me, from my own experience it helped a lot with my anxiety, InshaAllah it could help you too.
