A thought:

The people who are cursed by God, are cursed anyway, so we don't really need to curse most anybody. I think that's supported by the main vibe of the holy books and prophets.

Let's make this world a world free of grudges. Peace Love and harmony everyone .. and forgiveness and overlooking inshallah

11.7 million square miles, 640 acres per square mile. An acre is 43560 square feet. The average 3 bedroom house is around 1600 sqft. Earths entire population could inhabit an acre each of Africa. Or live in communities with acres of crops, livestock, etc around them.

The rest of the world could go back to green.

Why is it ok to eat KFC out of a paper bucket, but not a plastic one?

What?

Just don't use plastic if you can avoid it.  It's going to be the death of humanity.

Another day,  another mass shooting in the US. I was in Chesapeake the other day,  meeting friends for a pizza and to discuss an environmental action we are undertaking, God willing. And two weeks ago I was rain hiking with some friends over there and one of us needed to get dry socks for her daughter and shopped at that Walmart.

It's not even shocking anymore.

The other day a student confided in me that he had "accidentally" brought a weapon to school.  I didn't want the boy to be punished for basically changing his mind away from a bad idea,  so I took him to another teacher who I knew I could trust,  then she talked with the school counselor on his behalf and the child returned to my class.  I'm glad he didn't get expelled or suspended,  because he's a sweet kid with a hard life and school is the one stable thing in his life,  but I am worried that this might happen again and he might not change his mind the next time.

I'm not opposed to people having guns. I think we need to figure out how to change our culture away from one of hopelessness and violence.

This thoughts thread would be the one I'd choose, if I had to choose one thread on this website to survive.

It's kind of a mix think tank limitless and everything allowed kind of place, because you can talk Islamic here, as well as any other topic, but in other threads you can't be free like that. The Quran really encourage thought / fikr, so congratulations for whoever made the thread and for those who are keeping it alive, mashaallah.

salam sister,

why would you not be opposed to people having guns. Maybe its because you grew up in a society that believed in people having guns. I have grown up in the UK, and I can't seem to understand why there is a necessity that individuals have guns in the US and that guns cannot be just made illegal for all in the US. In the UK, the equivalent of guns are knives but we don't suffer from mass shootings. Its usually stabbings but that happens frequently between gangs, and little children are not killed by knives.

Are there any valid reasons that people should keep guns in the US?

Because I don't trust the government.  We need to be ready to overthrow it,  should the need arise. It is one of a few good parts of the ideas that the US was founded upon.

Some people are worried that when there are too many people on our planet, then there will not be enough food, water, etc. to keep people alive and healthy.

There is plenty.  The problem is a few greedy men who hoard resources.

Hi , It's a kind of naturalism which looks good but on the other hand it's not practical because humans from different races & ethnicities can't  live in compact communities likewise peopel or farm communes which although it has practiced in America & soviet unions even Israel at the end it has proven that it's impractical which only leads to more corruption of people & earth anyway according to Shia Islam viewpoint corruption has been spread by people in whole of world which after reappearance of Imam Mahdi (aj) so then he will fix this corruption by help of his followers which also earth will revive from corruption so then whole of earth will return back to green which whole of earth will be suitable for life of both of Humans & animals whther predator or domestic animals.

Suppose you like someone who is "out of your league" and that person becomes financially dependent upon you or some powerful person became their enemy and destroyed their personality, is it ethical and moral for you to ask them to marry you and are they obligated to marry you when they are not attracted towards you? They are already dealing with loss of their privilege and then they have to deal with marrying someone unattractive and they have to raise the children in that marriage? Isn't their any other way to return the favor of a person who supported you in your difficult time?

Marriage is never required, and must only be between consenting individuals, even if one or both individuals has suffered a hardship,  even if one individual has done the other a favor in the past.

You can ask them.  They are never obligated to say yes.

I think the best thing is to be honest with them with your thoughts and feelings.

Odd - given the much larger size of the Arab population

Quote

While the anti-Jewish policy of Mussolini’s regime in Libya has attracted some attention recently, scholars have neglected the treatment of the Arab civilian populations as well as of British soldiers in Italian captivity

You can predict the tweets that will come after this

The British ITV television station spoke to this lady about the cost of living crisis currently affecting the UK. She claims only to be able to eat her children's leftovers.

You can probably tell from the pic that they chose the wrong person and anticipate the meanness of the comments to follow.

No doubt it was intentional.

Only people who can afford nutritious food can afford to be slim, but we're still running on the misconception that calories are the expensive part.
